    I love your videos! I've been maintaining my bikes (and those of my family) myself for years and have learnt a few tricks from your videos.

    I’ve been enjoying your channel. I saw your post on a Facebook group and started watching. I’m a professional photographer, who does occasional video production. It’s always a good idea to have at least two sources of audio recording. One on camera and an external recorder. in your case, if both of those were to fail, a voiceover would work just fine. Keep up the good work.

      I’m definitely learning as I go! I need to get a good Bluetooth mic to get audio with my action camera anyway. Just need to get around to it!

    I started using Guardsman Liquid furniture polish on bikes because it was what my mother used when she cleaned houses around the lakes. I started using it on bikes because we had it in our house; I am a chair maker, who occasionally fixes a bike in my shop. According to the label of the newest version, it provides some UV protection, doesn't have the overspray issue, and a very small quantity goes a long way. Every rocking chair that goes out of my shop gets a coat before it leaves the shop, sometimes two if there is time. I also use scrubbing bubbles (generic brand) on the bikes for getting the grunge off after an offroad or messy on-road venture.

    I hear you on rim brakes. They have their place but for most people they are just a bigger pain.

    Spray the lube for the cable in the new housing before putting the shifter cable back in, helps with getting it through without fraying used cable a lot of the time. Drew.

    Bikefarmer, you are fabulous ! You talking as you go is key ! I watched your touring videos and noticed you don’t wear gloves in warm weather !? Also it seems that you use solvents and are not wearing gloves ! Those solvents will poison you over time, no ? Stay Safe and Healthy !

    Fascinated by the use of Behold. I'm guessing it's their Professional Series. Although I can't imagine even an inexpensive furniture polish could harm the finish, I was wondering what good it would do: no UV protection, no real protection against the elements etc. But how much UV protection does a bike need? Curious I went looking to see what spray furniture polishes are made of. I was surprised that some of them are use carnauba waxes which are used in some automobile waxes. If anyone is old enough to remember "Classic Car Wax," that was 100% carnauba wax and that was a great product, but no fun to apply. I learned something. Think I'll give it a try. Good show.

      You can pay triple for a can of carbuna wax spray that says “bicycle polish”
      on the side of it and rest assured you got what you need! 😆

    Definitely not against rim brakes, but I just don't understand the disc brake hate. I've dealt with both a lot and neither are a pain, just different. It's like carburetor vs. efi. If you're used to one, sure that one seems "better".

    • @bkefrmr
      @bkefrmr  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Some disc brakes are wonderful and most are superior for “cyclists”. Overall, however, rim brakes are much more practical for the average person.

      I’ll spray it on your butt! Definitely more of a concern with disc brakes. Haven’t had an issue doing it this way for a few decades, so 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Japanese say sorry all the time, getting in and out of trains for example. Kinda interchangeable with excuse me.
    Nothing wrong with saying sorry, it's just polite.
    In this lawyer day and age, people think it's admitting wrong or liability, but it isn't.
    Don't be afraid to say sorry, but everything in life is a balance, don't over say it as that shows a lack of confidence in one self.

    Your lack of understanding regarding rim vs disk brakes is shocking. Nothing is easier to setup than disk brakes, plus all tests show they stop better, provide much better modulation, and work substantially better in wet weather.
