    Thank you so much for posting this how to....We have a raw piece of land with no existing well, and no reasonable way to get the amount of water needed to jet pipe it in. We've been waiting months for a well guy to come out and do it but the trails to our property are so rough right now that its not even reasonable for them to get out there...we have been floating the idea of just doing ourselves by hand but weren't really sure where to start. Video was very informative. It will be hard work but we now feel confident we can do this ourselves!

    Once you hit the water table, when drilling, you stop drilling and put in your casing, and then you use a flapper type bailer to sink the casing deeper. The bailer removes the sand, and this allows for the pipe to sink deeper as you pull the sand out and dump it out and repeat this dropping in and pulling out until the pipe is to the desired depth. Then, put 12 inches of pea gravel into the pipe to keep the sand out.

    It was killing me watching you drive that pipe. In Florida, we use water to jet the pipe in. Much easier to do because of the sand. You can use a pressure washer with a clean out tip and it will go in like butter. There are several TH-cam videos that show the process. You did give me an idea on my next well. Thank you for taking the time to publish these videos.

    We have found that if you keep your driving cap tight when driving it won't get ruined threads; Pound fewer pounds and check and tighten the cap between pounds and you won't ruin the threads on the pipe or the driver cap. It takes longer but keeps the parts working like they should work without wrecking them. also it gives the pounder a little rest.

  • @ronsutton6503
    @ronsutton6503 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Also always turn the pipe clockwise with a pipe wrench to keep it loosened up every time you cease pounding and tightening the fittings downs below ....CLOCKWISE. if you turn the pipe the other direction it will loosen your joints.

    You should have used your tractor bucket (full of dirt for best results) as the post pounder. Just be careful to line things up perfect first. You wouldn't have bent your pipe or wrecked the red top smasher piece as you did by pounding at an angle. Trust me when I say, I've done this more than a few times easily with great success.
