  • So, it's been a while since my last upload and my apologies for that, but I'm back with a bunch of new planes and new content on the way.
    First video back is actually my latest acquisition - the Freewing F-35. This plane has been around for a while and I was told it wasn't very good by a few people on socials, while others said it was fine and it flew fine. Seemed to be a bit of mix bag of reviews and opinions, so naturally, I decided to try it myself. Plane's fine, there's nothing to worry about.
    Hope you enjoy the flights and thanks for watching.

    You know you’re Australian when you have to avoid hitting kangaroos on landing

    Glad to see someone tame this beauty. For me, it's my bane of all my planes. 4 crashes in a row and a fusel replacement.

    Good to see new videos here, and great flights as well, plus it sounds amazing.
    But how strange it is for probably 99% of the world when you say you have to watch out for kangaroos 😄

      Thanks. With the warmer weather approaching, I'll be uploading a lot more again. 😁
      And yeah, these giant rat things are always taking over the runway in the evenings. Haha.

    Nice fliying Vas, She's a bit reluctant to take to the skies. EDF life I guess.

    Ut has the power it's just so close to the ground the edf sucks in loose blades of grass and it hampers the power whilst in the air. If not cleaned out for next flight then it'll take even longer to take off.

    Congratulations on a great maiden flight . Have to agree nothing wrong with that plane . Dialled in nicely now , you’ll have to show us the roll rate some time . Great video Vas , great to see some air time from you .

    That's a really nice jet! Question, what type of connector does it use? XT90 or Dean's etc

    • @aussiercairspace
      @aussiercairspace  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It comes with a EC5 as standard, but I cut that off and use XT150 connectors (because that's just what I've been using for years).

    Love mine. My only complaint is even with a lot of part throttle and throttle off flying it absolutely cooks my batteries.

    Yah those landings were a little hot.. is this because the plane is heavy or you didn't really flare/use flaps on landing?
    Good flights matey!❤

    • @aussiercairspace
      @aussiercairspace  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers.
      It's a mix of things, I think. Me not being used to the plane, maybe not flaring in time and I think it might be setup a bit nose heavy. Freewing's recommend CG is usually a bit nose heavy, so I'll play with it in the coming weeks/months and see if I can maybe push CG back a bit. I did the same thing with my F-22 and F-15 and it slows them down nicely on landings.

    Nice flying. The F35 flies great with light pack. Gens ace 6s 3300 , 45C is only 525gr ❤❤❤❤❤. Better than 6s 4000, 45C (645gr) IMHO. 🎉🎉

    I flew my f-35 so many times I got bored of it. So I pulled the engine and gave it to my buddy now he is flying it. I must have put over 200 flights on mines. And shes still on original landing gear. I would not fly this gear in grass. For that get the L-39 80 mil. My ailerons are on 50 and its touchy!

    Did u ever get the fap to elevator mix dialed in

    • @aussiercairspace
      @aussiercairspace  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I did, but to be honest, I don't really use it. I find that the plane slows down enough once you get into a high alpha approach and it lands nice that way. 🙂

    Flight time is scant to say the least... I can see taking up this hobby when SS batteries become mainstream.

    • @aussiercairspace
      @aussiercairspace  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I keep wondering why there is such an emphasis on flight times... I've been in the RC hobby for almost 25 years, I've been flying for over 10 years now and I'm still baffled why flight times are always questioned. Jets have some of the shortest flight times out of all the planes I've ever flown, but if you want to fly for 10, 20 or even 30 minutes on a single charge, there other planes very capable of doing that. However, from personal experience, I often get bored after about 5 or 6min flights and start to get uncomfortable and just want to land and sit down for a bit. Maybe it's my age, but honestly, a 3-4 minute flight is plenty of time to get your thrills flying any jet. And if flight times matter that much to you, there are a wide range of aircraft that give you much longer flights. They may not be as fast, or even as cool looking, but they'll fly for a lot longer. It's no different to buying a sports car - a fast car usually means quick thrills with poor fuel economy.

      @aussiercairspace i agree, unless I am flying fpv, i dont really enjoy 10 minutes or longer flight times..
      Edf's just arent the most efficient way to fly. They do offer a huge fun factor.. but when one wants huge speed, long flight times that is always going to be a propeller
