    That power loop to alpha at the 8:42 mark was AMAZING!!! Curious to know what your favorite EDF is. If you could only keep 1.

      The F-22 would be the one I'd keep, though the Viper 90 is a close second. Thanks!

    Freewing has been putting out some stellar EDF jets! Less expensive than FMS and every bit as good!

    I entirely agree with your comment about use of gyros. They bring a whole different aspect to this hobby which is equally fun. The derogatory comments generally seem to come from those who learnt in the dark ages! Have you experimented with using heading hold to give more stability when flying a high alpha pass. I have yet to try it but I think you link it with Roll rather than yaw. It's supposed to reduce stall because it will react faster than you and you are concentrating on throttle and pitch. It will also help with thrust vectoring hovers - apparently. All interesting areas to explore!

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I actually disabled heading hold on all of my models because it felt weird in the air - it makes the aircraft snap out of position instead of smoothly transition back to pilot input. A FCS shouldn't feel like that. Any input should be smoothed out instead of looking or feeling janky. I compensate by using two AS3X gains - one setting for regular flight and one for extra stabilization on windy days or during precision flight.

      @@TwoBrosRC Interesting. I'll see how I get on and report back. Weather here (UK) not very conducive to EDF flying at the moment. I have my own grass airstrip and I extended my main runway in the Autumn and hope it will be useable by the Spring. So currently it's bungee launches and Draco/Timber and Bison type flying.

    Great job on the flights Jon it's too bad where I fly at I really can't do any rc jets at all because of the nose plus I'll most likely feel limited since I'm so use to the limitless agility my smaller 3d foamies and profile planes gives me but hey that's just me.

    I’m having a love hate relationship with my F-35. It came with a bad Y-harness and took a while to figure it out. I eventually bought my own waiting on Motion to send a replacement. But my take off is not near as smooth as yours and tips so easy. Are you doing anything special, or I just have a lot to learn. Also, what are your gyro settings?

      All the setup info is in our setup guide. Search "two brothers f-35 setup". That should help out.

  • @lucast.mathews4797

    Are you flying it on the stock motor & ESC? That's looks quick!
    How does it compare to the f22? Does it float like the f22?

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's on the stock motor and ESC. In terms of floating, it doesn't float much yet - but I'll see if I can demo any potential there in the near future. The F-22 is a different beast entirely, more of a 3D jet without thrust vectoring. The F-35 feels more like a sport jet with extreme agility.

    • @lucast.mathews4797
      @lucast.mathews4797 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TwoBrosRC hands down the f22 is my go to jet. I really enjoy it's wide flight envelope. I usually enjoy flying slow and slow and when I need to get our of a situation I just throttle up(running a stock setup). Can you remind me which motor you are using on the f22 and have you upgraded the ESC as well?

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My F-22 uses this ESC: tinyurl.com/SpektrumAvian130a
      The motor is the FMS 1950kv 90mm motor which you can pick up on RC Castle, or potentially via Horizon's website by searching "Spektrum 1950kv".

    You mention Gyro stabilization on pitch and roll axis. Do you reccomend to not use stabilization on the yaw axis? I have the f-22 and f-35 but for the time i'm still feeling a bit sketched out on the landing, but hopefully will get to more aerobatic soon.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is your alpha crow reversing aileron/elevator mix to allow for higher angle of attack while still maintaining linear airflow over the main wings?

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's mostly to get the wing past its critical AoA so it can fly on thrust alone without dropping a wing first.

  • @M4rkmcc21
    @M4rkmcc21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jon when u drop the Ailerons into flaps what's controlling your roll? Are the elevators still working in sync or are they then acting like ailerons controlling the roll? Cheers

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stabilators are differential in my setup, so they assist with roll. This is identical to how the full scale operates.

    • @M4rkmcc21
      @M4rkmcc21 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TwoBrosRC excellent thanks Jon. Will take a look at your set up video u highlighted to me. Will an AR631 suffice? Being only a 5 channel jet?

  • @cwwisk
    @cwwisk 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Your aileron gyro gain could be decreased a tad, but I might need one now... Thanks... lol

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just needs tweaking on the mix. Some of the wing rock is turbulent air, some of it is just a little too much stabilization at a given throttle level.

    How do you do those flat spins ??

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You need differential stabilators (tailerons) set up. I'll demo how to do this on tomorrow's upload for the F-35 setup video. You then hold full back elevator until it stalls, then pull full left, or right, and continue holding full elevator pressure. If the CG is neutral or not too nose heavy, it will begin to flat spin. Exit by letting off the stick pressure so the nose drops on its own, then throttle out of it and continue flying as normal.
