@@StudyTopiaTV I agree with José. I think a better way to measure comprehension on content material is a student orally presenting a teach back to the class, as recent studies have shown teaching others on the course material proves a more in-depth level of understanding.
I’m all for preventing cheating but I am not for giving complete access to my entire computer to take a test when there is a data breach in this company there’s gonna be a ton of lawsuits and rightfully so

I wildly dislike this software. I recently used it for an entire semester's worth of quizzes and exams, and several times the software would crash and incorrectly disengage on the computer, causing very serious security problems. If I weren't tech-savvy there is no way I would have corrected the problem. This program adjusts your operating system settings every time it is activated, and should it crash mid-exam, fails to reset the modified settings on the operating system. I have no idea if I ever fully fixed the issue, but it appears I did. I recall that it had disabled the file explorer on my computer as well as the taskbar as a function of explorer.exe and furthermore made me entirely incapable of opening any programs. It even disabled remoting into the PC, and restarts would only cause total lockouts. If it had forced me to reset my OS via the BIOS, I'd have lost thousands of dollars in software, files, etc. Horrible program and an invasion of privacy anyway. It will also sometimes disengage network firewalls, so make sure you're on a protected, trusted network or your PC is a valuable target until the exam is completed. It only stresses students out even more, especially me, because who knows if it's going to crash again and become a three-hour computer repair session again?
I'm really anxious when being recorded in general, so I took a math placement test I shifted around and talked to myself a lot, and to top it off I had to write on the side because I didn't have a big enough desk to write infront of the monitor. I'm so nervous I'll look like a cheater, I'm not but god knows what they'll think
@@Reppas99 I wasn't questioned, I passed without being considered cheating which I am lucky for, I just hated being recorded or photographed like that (Scopophobia).
Other rules that were not mentioned on the video: Cannot get up from the seat or to even leave the room while test is in progress. Cannot talk to other people besides the test taker around the room for any reason.
I have an exam tomorrow, it is the first time I will be proctoted. I tend to look everywhere when I am stressed and I take my calculator really close to my face, I hope it does not take that as cheating🤣
I don't think it gives a warning. Not all flagged parts are considered to be an academic dishonesty. The instructor should review the flagged videos before deciding the consequences.
@@StudyTopiaTV It did! I was able to take my final exam without my laptop crashing. I always do a dry run before, and I was afraid it will crash if I was taking a 3 hour exam, but my mac really just needed to get restarted. Lol! Thanks again!

Such behavior might be flagged. However, your teacher should review anyone who is flagged. It should not automatically be filed as a cheating.

What if you are looking down at a calculator? Will it mark you as possibly using phone?
The instructor should give an instruction of what to do when using a calculator. Teachers can review flagged sessions.

Your teacher should review the tagged behaviors. If a calculator is allowed to use, it should not treat it as a cheating.

Your teacher could tell if you are looking at the keyboard or not.

It is a pretty heavy program. Your computer might not have enough capacity to get it run.
Does it record sound? I tend to read the questions out loud and I don't want to be flagged if that happens.
It depends how your instructor set up. Flagged videos should be reviewed by the instructor.

A primary reason of crashing is a lack of CPU. I hope the video helps you avoid your computer crashing.

This program sucks. Looking up answers is still a form of learning. Tests make people nervous to begin with. Give us the degrees we paid for
