Just tried this app on photos from the 1940’s that were faded and blow out. After scanning on the app, the photos looked amazing. I wish I could post the before and after in the comments. I even scanned 4 photos at once and they all look great. Downloaded the app and setup took about 20 secs with your code. Thank you!
Sorry, this is not for me! The app says it has limited functions. An upgrade to the full version is offered for 47.99 per year / USD 11.99 per month or USD 59.99 for two years. I did not try to find out yet what the limitations are and whether the limited version will still be free after the three days mentioned in the app; time should tell. I was ask for my email address and obviously, the scanned photos are saved online to a server whose identiy I do not know. Nevertheless, thanks for the opportunity to test the limited version, Colin, even if I probably will uninstall it. The results of my test scans are not too bad, quite okay.
Oh, you thought all these wonderful features were free? I'm not sure if people realize how much time they save with a program like this. Think about it $60/ 2 years., a Venti (Large) coffee from Starbucks is $5.00. The cost of this software for two years is equivalent to 12 coffees.... That's six coffees a year.
Google Photos will scan old photos. But it is no obvious that it can do this. It is buried in the menus. Its under Library, Utilities, Scan Photos With Photo Scan. Works really well. 🙂
Interesting app, but as I understand it, it does not allow family members to upload additional photos. It only allows them to add comments on photos that you upload.
Years ago, I used ScanCafe to digitize around 200 slides and 50+ rolls of 24 or 36 negatives. The price was quite reasonable to preserve those memories. They're even having a sale now if you decide to check them out.
This app is great, but it's super hard to take a photo of your photos without getting a glare on the photo. I've tried all kinds of cardboard contraptions to use to be able to take photos without getting a glare, and most are very klunky.
You you have to sign up for two different accounts with a monthly or yearly payment for each one, funny you didn’t mention that, Between the amount of money you have to pay monthly or yearly and the data mining that they’re gonna do just doesn’t seem worth it to me
This is a task I've entertained for decades however, the video seem too simple. I want to eliminate old photo albums, extracting only key people, landscapes, events and condense a year of events in one thinner photo album. I do not want to loose anything or be out of luck if don't pay my iCloud bill. What is the real pathway and fees to scanning specific pics, creating and album, keeping them stored of my computer or phone and having available orderly for next generations to recopy???? My phone and computer are old and glitch all the time with everything having a price, scanner, phone, computer, apps, creating and buying albums on photo site, where does one start to organize the process??

Can the photos be transferred to an external hardrive from this app?
Definitely will get this, thank you for sharing!
What mount is that? Looks pretty slick
Thank you Colin! I had this app already but didn’t know all the things it could do.

Try diffusing your light source with a sheet
Thanks Colin. Is the code for basic account? I used the code and when I open the app, it keep asking me to upgrade to Photomyne membership.
You don't have to upgrade, that's optional
The Basic membership is Free, from what I can say, so what is the Discount Colin do? I did as you say & have the Basic App. which is limited.
Thank you Colin
