I have used your app for a few years now and really like it. My mum died last year and I now have all her family albums, which I am going to be scanning in and sharing with the rest of the family. This tutorial has made the job a lot easier, so many thanks and keep up the great work.
I have just finished snapshots from 6 albumS - more than 1500 pics. My primary challenge was the fact that my pics were fixed in the albums in plastic sleeves which caused my scan device (iphone) to be reflected when I scanned. If your pics are glue mounted in albums then there will less reflection in you scanning tool. This app is very convenient as it adjusts focus and offers auto adjustment of color and clarity of your pics after scanning, I have ordered a clicker so I can activate my scanner without pressing the "shoot" button on my iphone.
Thank you for your comment. We are so glad you chose Photomyne for your scanning journey. Feel free to reach out to us at support@photomyne.com and we will gladly assist in getting the best scanning results.
What happens if my album has 6 or more photos per page. You said we can only do 3 at a time. How do I achieve having 3, without removing the other 3 from that album page?
Hi there, you can scan more photos at once. However, the more photos you scanned at once, the lower the resolution is. When you scan 3 photos at a time you can expect 2-3MP, and up to 9MP when you scan one photos a a time. You may see all the details here: shorturl.at/ozFIX
How many photos will my photo app hold or do you recommend shifting them over to your phone or computer or other source to get them out of the photo app?
I've tried the app and was initially happy and excited since it's really quick and I did a load of photos in minutes. However, as soon as I looked at the images I was disappointed with the quality. The sharpening is awful and some of the images made the people in them look terrible. Plus, where ever I tried I found it really difficult to avoid reflections from the phone. The results were awful next to using my old Epson printer/scanner. I am wondering. Can Photomyne be attached to a proper scanner? and can I reduce the sharpening?
We are so sorry to hear about your experience! Please reach out to us at support@photomyne.com and we will gladly assist you in getting the best scanning results!
Yes it is :) If scanned properly, the resolution quality would be about 2 MP. And with the external macro lens, the resulting scans should be about 6 megapixels per slide. The final resolution of the photos you scan with Photomyne’s photo scanner app depends on two main factors: #1 The number of photos you take in a single shot (the distance of the phone camera from photos at the time of scanning). #2 The camera quality (megapixel specs) of the device you are using. Feel free to get in touch with support@photomyne.com so we can assist you to get the best photo resolution possible. You can get more information on our website - www.photomyne.com
Hi - I'm really interested in using your app. Questions: 1) do i remove the clear film covering the page in an album before scanning? 2) Once scanned and saved with date/name of person/ etc... if I download the photo to my Mac, doesn't that data save as well to my photos application or do I have to reenter all that info like when taking a picture with my phone and all that data is automatically saved. Thanks for answering . . .

Yes. You can scan them, upload to your PC and then transfer them in to your Photomyne account! Feel free to reach out to our support team at support@photomyne.com and they will answer all of your questions.
Do all of the notes you make on the photos transfer with the photos to Google photos? Or when they are downloaded to my computer to save on an external hard drive.
To my frustration I found that when you send to Google photos it ignores the albums and sticks all the photos in one "Photomyne" album. Not sure about the captions.
I love your product. However, I have one problem that I hope you can help me with. My father was in the British paratroops during WWII and therefore all his photographs are in black and white. He wore the famous red beret, which was actually maroon. On some photographs I colourise the beret comes out correctly, that is maroon and on others it comes out a grey/blue colour which is incorrect. The same applies in some full uniform photographs where his unform is actually brown but comes out as blue, which is the colour of an R.A.F. uniform. Is there anything that can be done to correct this?
Hi, we are so sorry to hear that! Please note that this is not a person, but a computer algorithm trained on millions of b&w photos. To colorize a photo, the algorithm breaks the scene down into familiar elements(sky, plants, people, etc), and assigns each element with appropriate colors. Obviously, more complex scenes increase the chance to get at least some of the elements wrong.
For highest resolution, I'm scanning one photo at a time and getting as close as possible so the photo fills the entire frame. The downside is when scanning glossy prints, the final image has a reflection of the phone in it (more so on photos with dark areas). Suggestions for eliminating this issue? Glare removal does not remove the reflection.
Here are some tips to avoid glare: Light angles - Try changing the lighting angles, and possibly the location where you work. Have light sources to the left and/or right. Avoid having the light source behind or front of you, or above the photographs. Time of day - Most of our users report that natural morning light works best for them. Avoid having direct sunlight on the photos you’re scanning. Avoid artificial lighting if possible - bright lamp lights usually cause glare. Try using either natural light from a nearby window, or use a lamp with softer light - again, not directly projecting onto the photos you’re scanning. Use a photo tent to diffuse light sources, soften shadows and reduce glares. The scanning process takes a bit of trial and error, but with a little bit of patience you’ll find the right combination that works best for you.
Hi, Now you can scan all your images - photos, slides, negatives - with Photomyne :) You just need to change the scanning mode. Feel free to reach out to support@photomyne.com if you have questions.
Scans three documents. Tried to mail them to a second party. The quality of the documents were very blurry and unacceptable for intended purpose. Cancelled the trial. If the scans were clear and sharp i would have subscribed to the service.
How do I login on to my account on my desk top computer? I am logged in on my phone but, I do not see a place to login on your website from my computer.
I have a Photomyne membership and have used it for a couple of years. However, it doesn't have all the features you show on this video. Is the voice, slide mode, negatives.... etc only available for iphone. I have Samsung.

It’s funny, a video came up from 8 years ago just pointing the camera and snapping, no fancy holder to buy. This video that’s recent shows gadgets to buy. 😂

You can save it to your PC and then print it :)
