I'm 59, I started training at 58 because of pre-diabetes and hypertension. I started cycling too (today I do 80km a week). All this combined with a non-restrictive diet with medical follow-up. I have already lost about 9 kg and achieved a significant gain in muscle mass. The pre-diabetes condition regressed and blood pressure did not exceed 11/7 mg/hg. I only got benefits.Training is for everyone, with no age restrictions.

Помогает по работе мебель тяжелую таскать иногда, во время переездов всего большого офиса, хотя не грузчиком работаю. Делаю 10-12 подтягиваний за раз. Это и есть самое тяжелое. It's called caring about yourself and not being lazy and not partying your whole life. What amazes me is how a 30 or even a 40 year old can look like shit and much older than what they are thats the really amazing and crazy part to me. Laziness kills stay active. As a 51 year old who has practiced martial arts competitively for the last 33 years, and been doing fitness training seriously for 38 years, I can say that joint injuries will really slow you down, or stop you.
So, staying as injury free as possible is critical, and learning to work around and repair (as much as possible) any injuries is not for the dumb or non determined individual. I now know more than most physicians, physical therapists, and dieticians due to trying to keep myself in the game.
So, for people pushing their abilities it is impressive to see 60+ people still able and actually training on a frequent basis.

But then I love to eat and so settle for what I have. Not to mention weight training is only one of the "hobbies" I've done over the years. I've played baseball, tennis, golf, hockey, rollerblading, martial arts, drums, wrote a book of poetry, etc. Not to brag of course, but rather to highlight that I don't sink 100% of myself into any single endeavor, but rather have done many things in my life apart from hitting the gym. Anyway, sorry to ramble. Stay strong, brother.

@@tortillasarenotbiceps7622 No apologies required my man. I find the deets of your journey interesting. We’re not dissimilar in regards to embracing multiple hobbies simultaneously. I’m also a drummer (extreme metal), played Australian rules football for many years, have boxed my entire adult life, consider myself an artist (my late piloting Father was an architect), have always been into weapons training and spend a lot of my time riding sports bikes (currently own a black on black 2021 CBR1000RR). The last few years have included BJJ, just purely because I dig MMA. Fortunately I’m a mesomorph, so I get away with only minimal resistance training and do weights mainly for maintenance purposes. I’ve always put on muscle mass easily (merely eating more than usual increases my gains) but never wanted to be huge as I stand at only 5’ 9” in height and am acutely aware that the majority of women don’t find men, with overtly stocky statures, terribly attractive. It’s also hard to source appropriate clothing lol. All of my male friends and extended family members have asked if I use PEDs at one time or another. I used to find it offensive but nowadays take it more like a compliment. In actuality, it’s basically a combo of older age, ignorance and laziness on their part (plus they all drink when not working). Whilst being legit muscular and ripped enough, I’m not as shredded as you though brother. You’re physique’s quality of definition is truly impressive. I have never followed a strict diet either, so could definitely improve in that area, but the fact is that I too love my food, enjoy eating whatever I want whenever I desire and quite frankly, I’m not superficial enough at this stage in my life to care to that degree. The only sign that I’ve noticed (for the first time in my 52yrs on Earth) of age beginning to catch up with me is my abs are starting to disappear. Keep doing you for you bro because it’s working ... you’ll still look phenomenal at my age in 7yrs and beyond. The vast majority of men of our vintage are overweight and unable to handle themselves (let alone protect their families) in violent confrontations/circumstances or dangerous situations in general where physicality is essential. Psychologically speaking, I have felt the need to know that I’m formidable ever since I was relentlessly targeted for 3yrs by the same group of older bullying friends at high school. The harassment altered my life’s course, in the most negative of ways, for two decades. I was saved by meeting my angelic soulmate Katherine and we were together for 21yrs. I found her dead in bed during Covid lockdown in June 2020. Coroner said it was inexplicably due to her heart failing overnight. Life’s rough but fitness helps. Anyway, all the best to you and your loved ones.
Edit : Now that’s how one rambles!

I'm only 57, so I've got time to catch up to Kim. ;-) Just kidding. I'm not as ripped as he is, but I have a similar build, max lifts, and especially his attitude (except I was never in the army). Don't let age become an excuse. Just do it.
Key takeaway for those who are still young: Start now with sport and don't quit. You can make progress if you start later in life, but you'll never get in great shape when you're older if you're not doing sports when you're young. Plus, when recovery times get long like ours, you can look back with fond memories to the days when you could train and recover every day. I love getting older, but I sure wish I could recover like in my 20s!
    Great video!

58 is old. The global life span for men is around 80 so technically 40 is middle aged. Being this guy stayed in shape he may live longer than average but most people won't live to be 100 so 60 isn't really a spring chicken for MOST people. The average person should start getting their affairs in order around 70 years old. You're pretty much on borrowed time after 75.

Maybe, you don't understand diet nd exercise as well as you think. Maybe, you have different genetic. Maybe, he has good genetics. Maybe, this man is small like 150-160lbs.
