I wrote a poem a long time ago and I called it The Calling... and a couple of lines in it go: The sound of snow softens in my ears... and the Purity of Life becomes my Life Fountain... It embraces and engulfs me... I become it's willing captive ... and, I'm free.... Don't be so anxious about nothing... because you are being blessed to be able to be there and not in the middle of some of the chaos that others are finding themselves in... these days... allow yourself to be blessed ... and you are a blessing to many, by just being there... Shalom, Brian.
Another helpful hint. You don't try to get out of heavy snow when the sun is out and it is soft and melting, you go when it is dark late at night when it gets cold again and the snow is hard and packs good.. If the snow is deep and wet and mushy you will slide and get stuck.. That is what I have learned from 10 years of living in snow country. So just get out of there late at night and get closer to the main road and hunker down there till morning..
DS Meadows your more man than this pathetic girl/boy. You don't really believe, real men act and talk like this sissy, do you? Say what you want about my observations, but this society desperately needs real men at this juncture! Quranteed, this girlish person voted for Biden. If he didn't, he DEFINITELY did not vote for Trump. Trump isn't my friend, he's just the better choice. DS Meadows, you sound like a good strong woman. Stay that way. Keep checking these girlie boys 🤣✊🏼
There's no better feeling than listening to the wind blow all night whilst warm and comfortable and waking up to a foot or so of snow on the van in the morning.
Yay!!! New Van Man! (Haven’t even watched yet) but you should know there is a common chant at our house whenever we see you’ve posted. “Van Man, Van Man, Van Man! Can be heard throughout the house. Building my van now so we can jump out there. You’re so blessed to live the way you do in this upside down world we’re living in, you’ve carved out your own little haven of sanity. We savor every second of the glimpse you offer into your life. Thank you sooo much!!! Safe travels and we’ll be watching this one as soon as we’re gathered together (this evening) can’t wait
Oh how I wish we had the money to buy a van camper and checkout of this world and create our own. I quit watching news a while ago but I still see it all on TH-cam no matter how hard you try it's out there. Thank God for peaceful channels like yours that bring me calm.
Totally beautiful but as you said wicked cold. As long as you have food and are warm, enough, you are set!! Give Kelly a hug for me when you connect next. Be safe.
Beautiful country, love Arizona, from sunshine to snow in a few miles! That meal you cooked looked very tasty! Enjoy, have fun and thanks for taking us along!
I lived in Flagstaff for 6 years and always enjoyed the time after a storm. The good news is that it will dissipate quickly in the dry climate, so don’t work too hard trying to make it go away. Maybe a bigger tank for the diesel heater should be in the cards... Great video! Stay warm.
Hi Brian, down the road on 260 is another grocery store. It's called Mogollon Market, the owners are pretty nice. I usually go there for groceries when I'm at our cabin in Overgaard. Thank you for showing everyone the beauty of the Rim Country. Blessings to you and Kelly.
Ah yes, the fine line between freaking out and enjoying the surroundings. I have felt that feeling many times on the road in my van. It is a good feeling to exercise while on the road. It gives me confidence to try new and slightly more difficult adventures in the future. Thanks for the video Brian. The snow is beautiful!
Brian, this was a beautiful episode. So peaceful away from the troubles of the world. The footage of that snow and sun, along with the wistful piano, made for the perfect serenity which I (and I am sure others) needed today. Your travels always move at a pace that relaxes me, and your footage is always interesting and inspiring. Stay safe (especially on slippery, snowy roofs!) and travel well. See you on the next one! Thanks.
Thanks for the lovely video, Brian. I lived abroad for 16 years and now I help my Mum out. Your videos help take the edge off of my travel bug desires. Be safe, Brother.
Glad to see your ok. I noticed you have a new rig. Sorry I missed a lot. Been driving a 18 wheeler around, now back to retirement and watching your adventures. Well, stay safe and warm.
We have that Curry mix here in Australia.!! Have made it a few times and is very tasty done in a slow cooker!!! We are flooded in at the moment so i might just go to the shops and buy some!! Its good weather for it!!
Hi Brain. The old guy here, showed you my wood cravings in Quartzsite. I use a telescope leader to clean our solar panels on my van and Lynn's Toyota rv. It's easy to store and a lot safer thin climbing up on your track like you did. I thought o - no. Anyway have fun my friend playing in the snow.
Curry looks great. My mother was Japanese and she made pork curry over rice ALL THE TIME. Made my heart feel good just watching you make it. ENJOY my friend.
Wonderful video Easy climbing on the roof so slippery and a long way from medical I broke an ankle in 2007 on a icy trail just like that by my self made a crutch and luckily a snowmobiler came by and rescued me. all the way to a surgery table. Love those small pine tree towns Be well
Love those snow days. Living where the mighty Columbia meets the Pacific, we don't get too many. And my compliments on your choice of coffee. Be well. Safe travels. Happy trails.
It was beautiful. I have to admit I was surprised to see you go that far back in knowing a storm was coming, lol. Glad it didn't keep snowing & you made the best of things. That curry looked like the perfect cozy Neal for the occasion. Stay safe✌⛄
I have seen other TH-camrs dig their van out of deep snow, because they caught in the woods by way more snow than they were expecting. They were in boondocking in Canada.
Another refreshing video. Two suggestions: 1) Using a standard store milk-carton/egg crate (not flimsy from walmart) as your footstool at rear of van. Doubles as grocery or firewood carrier. 2) Get large, thoroughly DRY, 8"-10" rocks. Heat them on or near your evening fire. Use a metal pail to place on top of your stove at night to radiate heat all night. Also, wrap a smaller stone in a towel and place inside your sleeping bag.
You are absolutely correct in that it is beautiful around Heber. I passed through there a few days ago just after they got the highways cleared and the snow in the trees was incredible. Cheers
Cool video! Must be a double-edged sword having the little camper to cozy up in... but a little intimidating being so isolated with the unknown! At least nobody can say your life is boring.
Now 68 thinking as I watched you of a lesson learned when I was about 16-17. My best friend and I were in his uncle's VW Dune buggy broke down in the middle of the desert. I was concerned about our ability to get back to his uncle's as the heat of the day was increasing. My friend says let's take a walk look around. I thought he was crazy after all we were stuck. We took our walk and when we returned he was able to get the buggy running all was well. Over they years that example has helped me by stepping away from the problem and coming back to it with a clear mind and often an easy answer. I think you did well with your approach of concern yet enjoying yourself and the beauty surrounding you. Anxiety is real but so is often the ability to manage it. Thanks for the nice video and a reminder to cease the day.
What a beautiful place, snow and all⛄. glad to see you took it in stride and enjoyed yourself minus a little fretting.. look forward to your new spoons😊 and travels💖💖💖
Great job in the snow but even more impressive for a San Diego guy!! I am sure you have thought of this but I keep a 2.5 gallon gas can with diesel and another one with gas for my generators. I wrote "D's" all over one so I don't get them mixed up. I then keep them in a tote with a latching lid and I have never had any smells at all. Also what a great video. Thanks again for sharing.
@Kurt M. Good Morning. Yes they sure do. I could not find the proper one in 2.5 gallons. Found 5 gallon yellow containers everywhere. If I remember correctly I even checked Amazon. I needed 2.5 to fit my tub that I keep them in for odor or case of a spill. Also not getting any younger so that size a little easier to handle. Thanks for adding information!!
Cool video. Your camping rig is awesome. Hanging out in the wilderness is the best. This is the greatest way to relax and get some peaceful time that's good for the soul.
Brian, if I had your "home" I would put a rack on the cab of the van to keep extra survival gear. Things like a can or two of extra diesel for the heater, snow chains and maybe one of those expanding ladders. Just something to think about.
I wrote a poem a long time ago and I called it The Calling... and a couple of lines in it go: The sound of snow softens in my ears... and the Purity of Life becomes my Life Fountain... Snow is one of the most beautiful sights in God's creation.. thanks for sharing
@Kurt M. Parts of the Hawaiian Islands have snow!
;-)
Only people who don't live with this stuff for months on end can say how great snow is. Personally I'm glad to see it leave.
Thanks for the video!
Most Excellent. 👍🐉🐲🐉
I like that you stay for more than 1 night
It's beautiful. Relax and be patient. You said you have everything you needed....oh no, hope you have enough fluid for your heater.
Another helpful hint. You don't try to get out of heavy snow when the sun is out and it is soft and melting, you go when it is dark late at night when it gets cold again and the snow is hard and packs good.. Definitely like your homemade music you put in your videos
Tax you putting new carpet down in the van🤣🤣🤣👍
The most relaxing vids on yutube
There's no better feeling than listening to the wind blow all night whilst warm and comfortable and waking up to a foot or so of snow on the van in the morning.
Great video, and beautiful country. You just made me hungry. That dish looks like good winter food.
Yay!!! New Van Man! (Haven’t even watched yet) but you should know there is a common chant at our house whenever we see you’ve posted. “Van Man, Van Man, Van Man! Can be heard throughout the house. Wow. Thanks for sharing. Maybe i should use my press. Good luck 🎋🦄
That coffee puck is really good for plants
First time viewer and new follower. Loved the video and will check out more later today.
Best wishes from Germany
Finally I see a chef knife as opposed to a pairing knife. Much better for cutting and safety. Be Blessed Brother Shine On
Something about that snow can be so insulating and peaceful! Thanks Brian
Totally beautiful but as you said wicked cold. As long as you have food and are warm, enough, you are set!! Give Kelly a hug for me when you connect next. Be safe.
SNOWED IN.... THE ADVENTURE VANMAN BEGINS... WHAT A TIME. AT LEAST YOU DONT NEED TO CALL IN TO WORK... LOLOL
Beautiful country, love Arizona, from sunshine to snow in a few miles! That meal you cooked looked very tasty! Enjoy, have fun and thanks for taking us along!
New Mexico has the same. We just don’t advertise it!

And tire chains perhaps 🤔
How about a couple gallons of extra diesel in a gas can??
tiny trailer full of heating oil perhaps
Pretty, stay warm 😀
Loved the video!
what a difference a home makes. You seem content in this truck home. Good for you
The snow looked beautiful. A good place to relax and enjoy it. Got heat, got food, don't need nuthin' else.
That vegetable curry looks good. I bet it can of chicken would be good in it too. I love when it snows it's so quiet outside.
Love your picking n strumming
Nice place keep warm and God bless

Perfect background music for snow scenes.

Snow, pretty.
Aloha from Hawaii Brian 🏝enjoyed your video and the delicious veggie curry. One of my favorite curry to use for beef curry stew. Love the winter snow.
Now that is one of the best perspectives showing the hood and at the same time yourself without spoiling the fun. Good video.
Looks like a nice adventure.

Cooking lunch in the snow, awesome. Great video. Thanks Don

Being from San Diego the snow must be an extra special treat for your camp.

and YES tire chains!! Also when you are climbing up on that roof all alone, you should take your cell phone (assuming signal) just in case...
Thanks for the lovely video, Brian. I lived abroad for 16 years and now I help my Mum out. Your videos help take the edge off of my travel bug desires. Be safe, Brother.
One your best 👌 videos, and very well done. Much appreciated.

We usually use a bit bigger shovel on our snow here in the great white north - lol - get yourself some chains and an extension ladder.
Looks like you were getting a little nervous, but you were totally prepped for it!
Very cool coffee system ☕
Wonderful video Easy climbing on the roof so slippery and a long way from medical I broke an ankle in 2007 on a icy trail just like that by my self made a crutch and luckily a snowmobiler came by and rescued me. all the way to a surgery table. Love those small pine tree towns Be well
There snow and the trees ate so pretty. Hope you made it out of there OK. Happy trails 🌻
As I write this I’m experiencing the worst stomach bug I’ve had in decades. I’ve had your playlists on all night. Very soothing. Thank you.

Wow Brian that place looked peaceful.
Enjoyed your casual filmed story along with relaxed diction.
Snow is beautiful! So peaceful.
Yet another great video Brian - I was on the edge of my seat when you were on the roof.. take care and stay safe! best wishes from England.
I lived in Phoenix about 13 years and the times we went north into the forest was nice.
Cool video. Your camping rig is awesome. Hanging out in the wilderness is the best. This is the greatest way to relax and get some peaceful time that's good for the soul.
I was so nervous when you were cleaning off the roof. Omgs if you got hurt out there all by yourself, ohhhh nooo!
Great video Brian thanks for sharing with us.

@@AdventureVanMan Oh yea, I forgot about that part. lol
