    Think of the quality of life for all the unemployed dock workers. Great for profits, great for shareholders but how will unemployed people buy products when there are no jobs

    This is just hype. I work in the field and we are still many decades until the type of AI that people are waiting for (so-called AGI and ASI).

      I’m not disagreeing with your opinion. But, could you think of a possible answer to why many videos online are saying by 2029 this will become a thing?

      @@TheJammin01 Because a famous author called Ray Kurzweil said it. He used to say 2045 or something, but due to the recent advances he now says 2029. He is old and is desperate for some type of ASI to help us reverse aging. He also has a strong incentive to sell as many books as possible by making hype.

      You’re talking about true AGI. He’s talking about narrow Ai, which is what Google deep mind does. Much of what he’s talking about can be done now.
