    Crutchfield and I go way back! I guess my first purchase was around 1978 or 79. Purchased a Craig Power play 100 car stereo
    amp for my car. Their customer service is some of the best or probably the best you will receive. The info on their website is excellent
    and long with the customer service, you should have no problem finding what you need.

Don't care about sub-woofer necessarily, so thanks for addressing that. Having a integrated soundbar with my TV plus also having a full 5.2.4 setup with a flick of a button I can go from one to the other! And even though the so-called Dolby Atmos (virtual) sounds pretty good on the soundbar there's just no comparison between the two! if you want subtleness go with the soundbar but if you want that chest pounding sound then you have to go with a wired setup! Click on the red dragon twice for a 2-minute demo of the extra benefit
    a wired set-up brings you???

    I want to improve dialogue and watch/listen to classical music concerts from TH-cam and wherever. Any suggestions guys? PS I'm not looking for the final solution to end all solutions. Our Smart TV has the usual optical and HDMI ARC connectors. There are no RCA out connectors, but I've finally found the camouflaged headphone connector!
    Update: I managed to connect our TV headphones OUT to the Audio IN of the DVD player. The 5.1 speaker system of the DVD is/was even poorer than the TV speakers (warmer but no clarity, despite being made by Sony - no, I didn't buy it) so I swapped out the tiny cheap L&R front speakers for a pair of KEF Coda speakers which were gathering dust. The whole system is much improved, for TV dialogue & music and for DVDs/CDs. There's a fuller range of sound, and double basses can be felt as well as heard thanks to the KEFs and the existing sub, but I might try to replace the centre speaker as well.
    So far, it's a free solution. Why were the KEF speakers not already employed elsewhere? I inherited a better system with an Onkyo receiver and Bose speakers, which is in my studio. Cheap (or free) solutions are good when lockdowns have left you unemployed. I wonder whether a cheap passive sound bar is best for this?

    I went to a local store and listened to a bunch of soundbars from least to most expensive. And they all lacked something important: They totally lacked bass and the higher sounds lacked clarity. Granted it was in the middle of a large warehouse / store but still... So I bought a Logitech subwoofer and two speakers and connected them, via converter, to my smart TV instead. The TV sounds great because of that. What surprised me is just how bad smart TVs are in terms of audio quality.

    I have a Sony Oled A80J 55" in the bedroom, have a great sound, really I expected nothing but have clarity and a good amount of bass.
    The TV have room correction and Dolby Atmos, usually I use the bedroom tv to watch shows in late night, the sound effects are not as deep, but with voice at low volume (kids at home) the sound is good enough. I think the sound is better than many low end Soundbars, or the cheapest stereo soundbar can improve the audio of this tv?

    Eminently beneficial and well done! It's frustrating, all the sound bars I've looked at have HDMI ARC; our TV only has one free HDMI(no arc) SPDIF Optical, RCA ports, audio jack and headphone jack. I want to use SPDIF Optical and HDMI port, so we only need TV remote to change volume on SB. Looking for a 24-28 inch SB for a 26" Vizio around 50-200$; with Bluetooth, clear voice, sound leveling (for loud commercials), and surround sound . A SB that doesn't have over whelming bass and mellows background loud sounds. YES, you guessed it, we are up the hill on the way down😉😄😄!!! Any suggestions would be very much appreciate! • @crutchfield

      We don't have a way to tie in wireless speakers to help play the TV's audio in other room while using a soundbar. That typically takes a home theater receiver and WiFi speakers for the other room. We can make sure the soundbar has Bluetooth so it can play audio from a portable device like a smartphone.
      Since your TV does not have an HDMI ARC connection, then we should plan on using the optical port. That is the next best one. Also, getting a subwoofer will help with being able to get a small soundbar without losing any audio. This Polk Soundbar is a great choice for size and sound:

      The good news is that both of those models support HDMI ARC! The Q60A model also supports HDMI eARC which, with compatible audio gear, will make it possible to listen to Dolby Atmos as well as DTS:X audio tracks for more realistic object positioning and tracking. This upgrade as well as the video upgrades (more detail, quicker response times for smooth action, etc...) are all found in the Q60A as improvements over the similar ability in the N5300 model.

      Hi Tom!
      The size of the room that your sound bar will be going in, does play a factor in choosing the sound bar solution for your needs.
      Also, depending on the types of features you're looking for, such as simulated surround sound that uses object based sound reflections, would also need to be addressed.

      Lookup crutchfield online, navigate to Samsung soundbars, edit search with x.x sound, and get the most expensive you feel comfortable spending(the more you spend, the more you get, there is no upgrades for these if it’s not loud or clear enough, sorry, buy again) (it’s better to have too much than not enough) , take your time to setup it when you get it home (take time in the beginning, and more enjoyment, slap it together quickly and it could be bad) (proper speaker setup is important for sound, look at water and how it flows, a river flowing smoothly is calm and easy and enjoyable, rapids is rough and noisy, not so relaxing)

      We did not carry the HT-S500RF sound bar, we would not be able to offer guidance nor recommendation on that particular product, in comparison to the JBL 3.1.
      If you would like a personalized recommendation on a sound bar that would work great for you, feel free to get in touch. We will be happy to help.

    As far as wireless rear speakers...Do you have to buy the exact same brand of the soundbar or is it pretty universal on which pair you can connect wirelessly?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wireless speakers are almost always proprietary. The only open platform where you can mix and match brands is DTS Play-Fi.

    Sound bars seem to be for home theatre. For music, what do you need?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sound bars do have multiuse capabilities, as most sound bars of today have Bluetooth and WiFi for audio streaming.
      However, if you're looking for a dedicated stereo setup for audio only, a set of speakers, and a receiver or amp would be the route to take!
      Please chat with us online or by phone. We will be happy to go over your specific needs in an audio system, and provide you with a solid recommendation on the products that will work best for you!

    How do we get the sound from the TV with the Bluetooth headphones connected? We just bought a Sony Bravia X80J Smart TV with a pair of headphones for my friend who is hard of hearing. However, once his headphones are connected, no one else can hear the TV. How can we fix that?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah yes, with most tv's you can only hear the tv audio on one output at a time: bluetooth headphones OR the tv speakers. :/ Here's a solution that offers simultaneous listening between the tv and the headphones and great sound quality! www.crutchfield.com/I-rFBKc384/p_143RS1752/Sennheiser-RS-175.html?tp=68382

    Can you suggest one $500ish for music listening in Hifi or near hifi

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Soundbars are not typically used for HiFi listening because they have both the left and right channel audio built into on speaker which does not allow for the ideal spacing between speakers and the listener. That is crucial for experiencing all the detail in music like the sound staging of it and the depth of field in it. Getting a wide soundbar can help and the Denon DHTS517 even has audio inputs for connecting music devices. It can be found here:

    With soundbars, is there a point where you start getting a decent deminish on return on investment? In other words, is there a point where you can't hear much of a difference in improvement?

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The answer to that question would really be dependent on your personal space, the type of quality you're looking for in a new sound bar, and any expandability needs you may have.

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience the JBL 5.1 bar is a solid product that performs well. I would keep your wireless router 20-30 feet away from the system to minimize any interference.

    You don't seem to address my question. Can you hook up a sound bar to a regular turntable that came out in the 80s? I just need to hook up my turntable. Thanks.

    • @crutchfield
      @crutchfield  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is possible to connect a turntable to a soundbar with an analog audio input by installing a phono preamp in between them. The turntable will send audio to the phono preamp. The phono preamp will increase that audio to preamp level so it can then be sent to the analog audio input on the soundbar. The phono preamps we offer can be found here:

I am starting to like this POLK I was given for free as in the soundbar however sounds great already I want more as in least MORE bass so has a sync button maybe I should locate a sub by Polk as any of the subs by Polk will sync to any of the Polk soundbars with sync or do they need to be of sdame model? What tech is POLK using for the SYNC anyway, is it some sort-OF POLK -proprietary technology- or is it something more 'universal like wifi or some type of NFC or even 2.4/'5xxghz bands?.... HMM.... Anyone with a brain out here with me?...
