Personally playing the bari, i really enjoy hearing someone who can manage decent air support on the instrument. I mean he sounds twice as clean as most guys you hear nowadays.
Selten ein so schön singendes Bari gehört! Aber es singt nicht nur-es erzählt auch etwas, und das ist für mich das Besondere an dieser Einspielung! Wunderbar:-))
Hi, this is a common problems with the fibracells (much less with Legere or Fiberreed). Only solution is to keep the reed on the mp as long as possible. Mp cleaning is done with the reed mounted using water and alcohol.
Just ran into this, great! Love to hear more Bari. My lady says that Somewhere Over the Rainbow is hauntingly beautiful on my Bari. How long have you been playing? You are very inspiring.
Hi Robert, I'm a saxophone player for well over forty years. And the bari IS a beautiful horn. I guess your lady is right and I guess you are a good player. There's more bari on my channel. Thanks for your comment 🙂
Hi, the sound of my fibracells on the Jody Jazz is always more or less the same - as long as I don't change the position of the reed or the ligature. If I do so, the sound changes. Maybe just a little less than with other mouthpieces.
Hi, I've only used them once on Bari and that was with another mouthpiece. Sounded fine with a metal Link but felt uncomfortable. Whether this was due to the mouthpiece or the reed I didn't bother to find out as the Link was not my own and I had no time to give it a real try. Tried Fiberreeds Carbon on alto and they were very clean and accurate but imho lacking punch.
I have this problem with fibracells on my vandoren jazz mouthpiece. It seems like everytime i put the fibracell on it sounds different. If i move the reed even a little bit, sometimes it sounds completely different. Do you have this same problem on the Jody?
Hello, i have the same problem with fibracells. I love their sound so much, but i wish it wouldnt change so much. What i've noticed is that with different mouthpieces, the difference in sound varies. I want to know how this is on the JodyJazz. Does the reed always sound different? I also want to know what reed and strength gives you the most similar sound to the fibracell. Thanks
How did you get such a graceful tone on this Jody Jazz mouthpiece? Because I tried playing it once and the tip opening was so big it was almost impossible to play on without getting a headache from lack of oxygen XD. Did you perhaps use a lighter reed?
+Gunter Da Penguin Hi, reed is a Fibracell medium. I play open tips ever since I started playing. No hard work for me. The Fibracell medium here is even a tad too light for me. It's all a matter of personal liking. Great tip openings don't necessarily give a good sound. I'm comfortable with my setup and I think that is the most important thing ;-) And thanks for you nice comment.
Wow, that’s actually absolutely amazing
Glad you like it 😊

Is a #9 playable by anyone? Or are the different numbers for style of playing?

How are the Fiberreeds on Bari? I've heard good things about them, but never for jazz.
Is there some way I can get the back tracking

@mariko1290 : Danke :-)))
Cool
Do you have the music for this available?
Which bari sax do you play?
It's a Thomann TBS 150

It is a thomann baritone? it is worth it for the price?
Hi, playing it for several years now. Sturdy, reliable and beautiful sound. Definitely worth the money.
Looking forward to hear and reviews to the thomann tenor and alto sax ts 350 and the startone ones? Have you ever tried these ones? Thanks
Hi Juan, never tried the tenor or alto, sorry.
Ok. Thanks
Swell!
Hi, nothing special. Plain Jody Jazz Classic #9, tip opening .130.
