I have this exact problem on a mk4 Golf. EPC light on, brake lights don't work. I've already ordered a new brake light switch from amazon and i hope to be able to replace it by myself. I'll provide update later. UPDATE: Brake light sensor replaced with one bought from Amazon and it works perfectly fine. Brake lights now work but the EPC light is still on even though I know it’ll be off on its own after a couple of rides (I know this by experience). OPERATIONAL PROBLEMS FACED: I somehow found it hard to pull out the sensor with the electrical connection still in place. Once I was able to pull out the cable, the sensor came off easily. FUNNY STORY: A mechanic once quoted me €150 to fix this problem. Luckily I found this video and numerous others on TH-cam. Thanks for posting this
@@RandomTubePT unfortunately I haven’t got one. Normally I take it to a mechanic who clears them for me for free (after an intervention) but this time I wouldn’t want to take it there considering he didn’t have a hand in the repair. However I’m very confident it’ll be off after some rides
So I have a problem idk if it’s the same as this but when I break slowly the epc light comes and I have to press my break all the way down and when I let go it goes away any thoughts ? And all my break lights work

You mean that the brake lights are ON as soon as you turn on the car without pressing the brake pedal? If yes, your brake switch is stuck. Just replace it. Cheers
I have almost the exact same problem EPC light stays on tho scanned it and got code 0571 pressure/brake switch plausible signal cruise control circuit A malfunction. Would replacing this fix that? Thanks for the vid!!

Sabe como reprogramar os vidros e travas do 6n2? O meu as vezes abre só o lado do passageiro e o do motorista não abre, e junto disso as travas não fecham depois volta ao normal
Isso nao me parece ser um problema de programação, mas quem sabe... Julgo que com o VCDS se consegue fazer isso... Mas honestamente nunca o fiz. Por acaso nao ouves ar a sair quando abres ou fechas as portas?
Por acaso a bomba de vácuo está trabalhando bem, entretanto eu abro a porta com a chave pelo lado do motorista, e ela não abre todas as travas nem sobe, ou abaixa os vidros. Agora se eu abrir do lado do passageiro ele abre normal e sobe ou abaixa meio vidro do lado do motorista, repetindo a ação 2 vezes ele volta ao normal. Porém em alguns minutos volta a dar o problema.
Check you locking vaccum pump in the boot to the right you may have a air leak or the pump could possibly be corroded inside on the circuit board! The pump is what controls the locking and unlocking by vaccum and suction hope this helps

EPC warning can be caused by many reasons. You should use a OBDII and Software to check the cause. Cheers 😉

MY break light are on as soon as I turn on the car , what might it BE the problem because the EPC light is on
You mean that the brake lights are ON as soon as you turn on the car without pressing the brake pedal? If yes, your brake switch is stuck. Just replace it. Cheers
Why the third brake light on the top doesnt turn on when you press the brake pedal? I have the exact same problem after replacing a bad brake switch.
Different situations probably bro... In my case was a falty third brake light. I replace it.
