In this video, we replace the Audi A3 TFSI Expansion Tank.
This process is very simple and takes about 10 minutes.
The tank I removed was fully functional, but I hate to see a dirty expansion tank.

As you see it, could it be possible to reuse the old thermostat housing? Is it possible to remove only the thermostat? I have a 1.6 Fiat Stilo and in the summer I don't like the 88C thermostat because it is very slow to open and with 40C outside sometimes you can see over 102C when going uphill with AC on. Also on engine shut off I see sometimes even 110C (with engine off) because the stupid fan stops at 92C.
Yep i see it... Unfortunatly you cannot reuse. I belive you can remove the thermostat inside but i imagine that you cannot re-install another. At least i never saw that... Even i dont know if you can find just the thermostat for sale without the housing.
@@RandomTubePT Interesting, so I guess the only practical solution is to use the thermostat from the older 1.4 8v or 1.6 8v engines which exist in 82C variants. And then the 2 sensors on the original housing will have to be drilled and placed somewhere else. Fiat did an unbelievable shit job with the thermostat design on the 1.6 16v engine.

Diz me uma coisa, que maquina usaste para ler os erros, Estou a perguntar porque ja usei 3 maquinas de pessoas difrentes e nenhuma deu....É possivel o encaixe do OBD do carro estar com defeito ou nao? Boas Amigo... Usa VCDS para ler... Mas máquina gerais costumam ler eu tenho uma maquina normal que também lê os erros basicos. Mas VCDS é o certo para ler carros VAG. Abraço

@antonioantunes4777 Nao amigo... Encontras no OLX por 25€... Nao descartando a possibilidade que pode de facto existir um problema associado a leitura claro. Se forem daqueles OBDII por Bluetooth de ligação a programas de tlm é possivel que não leiam por nao conseguir identificar o protocolo de comunicação

Hello dear, i have a vw polo 6N2 there is a problem in this car i have checked to many mechanics but could not find the problem, normally car runs very fine but sometime sudden EPC light lit up and engine power get down then RPM needle does not go more than 30 sometime car stops on the road and start again after 5 to 10 minutes then everything gets normal. May i know why this happen
@@zeeshanshabbir0608 Hi... EPC may appear for many different reasons. Whens EPC comes up, check for errors with vcds or similar error machine reader. For it will tell the reason for the error.
@RandomTubePT nothing show on the reader, because fault comes only for 10 minutes max. I have already replaced ignition coil but the problem is same today mechanic was saying that this is cause of break padel sensor i am worry about no body know what is the problem
@zeeshanshabbir0608 Bro, if it was the break sensor your engine wont falty... EPC may be caused for many different reasons bro... What you could do is get a cheap OBDII BLUETOOTH connected with your phone and when the error comes up you can read it, other wise will be difficult to tell you Bro... Thats really hard to say what is, could be many things... The right thing to do is to get a reading with OBDII Reader with the EPC ligh comes up.
Does the water temperature make a difference? Would it be useful to heat the water using a plug in submersion heater?

Hi Bro... It's simple to do but difficult to explain 😅. If I remember correctly, once you've taken off the roof, you slide it all the way down and you'll have some locks. I don't remember if it's really like that, but once you've removed the roof I remember it's simple.
Nice video. In my 2007 Golf Plus 1.6 8V with 250,000km I have the same problem. A slight crack that has caused me to leak coolant. My mechanic is waiting for the replacement part which should arrive in the next few days.

Your Brava videos are interesting and useful... I have 2 x Brava 1.2 2001. The latest one I bought had the cylinder head overhauled and the garage said they replaced the thermostat.. the temp gauge now reads above halfway for normal driving, and I recently did quite a hard drive over some hills (in cool weather) and the gauge started reading very high. I put the heater on to give extra cooling and I had no actual problems, now it is reading just above "normal" like before. When I first got the car the cooling system was completely neglected and blocked... after I stripped the radiator and flushed several times (with 50% doses of flushing fluid) everything went to normal even with the original thermostat. But after the engine work it now seems to run "hot". So maybe there is an electrical issue that has started, or something is blocked, or the thermostat is a bit strange....

@@RandomTubePT I will talk to the garage who did the repairs... they are Fiat specialists. I have bought a genuine Fiat thermostat that we may try. I have had my first Brava 1.2 since 2008, I replaced a few thermostats that stick "open" and overcool the engine. It is strange to overheat in this car because it is a small efficient engine with a lot of space around it and a big radiator across the front. The engine bay could take a 2-litre 5 cylinder motor and still be OK in Sicily, so my 1.2 should be fine in Northern England !

Boas Amigo. Isso podem ser varias causas... O ideal é passar a maquina de diagnóstico. Pode algum cilindro a falhar, por exemplo a bobine pode nao estar boa, algum cabo de velas etc... Nao gastes dinheiro a toa com tentativa erro. Passa a maquina de diagnóstico.

hello. i have exact same issue. i have put original new fuel pump, new fuel regulator, cleaned and replaced injector seals, tested for air leaks non appeared, rebuilt engine because was taking oil, cleaned the n80 valve as mentioned in your video, changed MAP Sensor from working car. however i did not change intake temperature switch, thermostat and throttle body and lambda sensor as i seen you have changed and it did not work out
@@shaailhansraj7226 I Bro... Ask to a mecanic to read the lamb sensor values... You may have a lambda sensor problem.
@@RandomTubePT okay bro. i will get one soon also i have seen while driving my temp gauge comes down to quarter mark id say 70 to 75 degrees normal operating temp is 90 this happens very rarely as i am from south africa winter has just passed by going into summer. Sometimes it can drink fuel and sometimes it wont. its heavy on fuel when cold
@@shaailhansraj7226 If the temp drops while you driving usually its a bad termostat Bro. Sometimes its bad reads and that is caused by the sensor. You can replace the sensor and the thermostat, they are cheap
