... not really. Hancock is a ghoul that happens to be a chem addict. Doesn't mean every ghoul is a chem addict. Is every single human addicted to nuka cola just because that one lady in fallout 3 was?
I think it's supposed to also be a balancing mechanic. Well, as a human you could use a perk to not have to get addicted as a ghoul because you no longer need hunger and being feral could be a buff. They needed a bounceing mechanic. To be a nod Farrell, you have to use cims . The trade-off though is you can get addicted to them
Hancock was a drug addicted before becoming a ghoul. And in the show it's implied that the drug specifically that the Ghoul was taking was something to prevent him from being feral.
I would argue overeaters should work for ghouls if it checked on state of sanity (feral meter) instead, or maybe specific legendary effect with similar effect checking for that metric
@@K451P4LL0 Back before OE existed, it wasn't uncommon for full health players to have 5 different prefixes... Troubleshooter, Hunter, Exterminator, Mutant Slayer, Zealot etc... to take 15% less damage from most enemy types. Ghouls may want to consider doing that if survivability is a concern, but it could also open up "worse" effects to be used since there's no clear winner now (e.g. Life Saving, Auto Stim, Regenerating).
@@K451P4LL0 The other 1* effects are still useful, and as long as you match them properly you actually come out better than with OE. The other resist effects are more specific, but they give 2.5x the protection, it only takes 2 pieces to match the protection of an entire OE set. You can still benefit more than just that as well: you'll want multiple sets of armor to maximize your resistance anyway, so you might as well match the armor itself to the damage that enemy type tends to do instead of using a generalized set of armor. For example, the "best" armor is the Secret Service set because it provides high protection against both ballistic and energy damage, however Brotherhood Recon armor has better ballistic protection and Civil Engineer armor has better energy protection. Pair either one with a corresponding enemy type and you'll be much better off than a more generalized set. (eg, BR with Mutant Slayer and you'll be taking significantly less damage during Eviction Notice than SS with OE) EDIT: BTW, the less damage you take (eg, from higher resistances) the less damage your armor takes and the less often you need to repair it.

I honestly don’t think Bethesda is ready to implement this yet. I still like keeping up with the dailies, seasonal events and challenges, but the bugged Holiday Scorched and the Gleaming depths glitches that are going to be patched just reemphasize some of the technical issues that have been present since the games release that haven’t been fixed yet. During a time when AI should serve as a useful tool to fix these things the casual player can’t keep up on the constant nerfs buffs and rebalancing of their character and equipment. Plus the necessity of the bloodied big guns power armor build for endgame quests still spoils the RPG element for players who want to do anything different. Unless I’m missing something, there’s way more negatives than positives unless you’re a melee build? As a sneak, stealth commando all of this extra micromanagement just adds +3 strength/endurance? You don’t need that.. 🤔
Can you gain glow from radiation if you’re below 100% health or does it heal you back up first? If it’s the former, then maybe unyielding could work by shooting explosive ammo at your feet instead of the typical radiation route

I dunno man, seems like it kind of sucks to be a ghoul. What is the advantage? What would be the best build that takes advantage of being a ghoul? Also, having to carrying around a shit ton of toxic goo seems annoying.

The END perks like lead belly are locked out for ghouls because you can't get sick as a ghoul, so they wouldn't have a "downside" of not working when you sick. As for glow spending perks, I feal like Bethesda is trying to push single shot/slow attacking weapons with big damage, with the ghouls mechanics. These perks give you a huge damage buff and you don't really care for a small amount of glow, if you basically oneshot your target.
I think it makes sense that ghouls can get addicted to chems like anyone else - it's their choice how much they take in order to avoid going feral, there should be some consequence to it. Plus... I have a Junkie character I want to ghoulify 😉
Fix: Make glow separate from HP and not a 2nd health bar so they can still take health damage while glowing, but still limit the glow pool based on HP.
Mmmm well that makes it a clear choice foe me. No care to be a ghoul. Was hoping the stagger thing was just permanent with the card but it's not so my care to be a ghoul is dead.
You should get addicted as A ghoul it just should take more to get addicted then A human... "ghouls can indeed get addicted to chems, but their experience with addiction differs from that of humans. Ghouls are extremely resistant to the effects of chems, often requiring ultra-jet or engaging in multi-day binges to achieve any noticeable high. Yeah even 3 months ago before the ping was introduced, I saw the problem that console players have. And now this is going to just make the problem that much worse.
seems like a load of rubbish to be honest .. only think the game nerds will like this .. i play too casually to get invested with this stuff and some of the tests you and others do is way too complicated for an old gamer like me lol
So, being a bloodied Ghoul will not be a thing because of the mechanics. Looks like I'll stay human _😂😂_
24:15 I think you missed the point of this one. This card is optimized in high radiation areas, like nuke zones.
Thats not a good take away, how many areas is that really usable in? Scorch queen? What about all the people that move it away to the safe zone? Radiation rumble? A nuke zone for what farming ingredients with enemies that get one tapped anyways by a good build? I think you missed the point...
@wormwoodmain6677 why? Cause I don't need to compensate for inadequacies? I didn't say it was super useful, but it has a use that he didn't mention. That's all I was pointing out.
@@Lordoftheapes79regardless his point is valid, dhat card is useless cuhz theirs basically no need for it since nobody spends time in high radiation areas like dhat
A slow firing, but high damage might be better able to make use of the glow consuming perks. Do shotguns use more glow due to pellet count? Or is it like vampire now?
Unless I’m missing something, there’s way more negatives than positives unless you’re a melee build? As a sneak, stealth commando all of this extra micromanagement just adds +3 strength/endurance? You don’t need that.. 🤔
Feral isn't actually that hard to manage, easier than hunger and thirst are anyway. AT is just putting 0 effort into not going feral.
It's looking my new auto axe build will eat tho. Not excited for a lot of it though won't lie
Can you gain glow from radiation if you’re below 100% health or does it heal you back up first? If it’s the former, then maybe unyielding could work by shooting explosive ammo at your feet instead of the typical radiation route
heal first
I got a pretty hilarious glitch and went down when trying to become a ghoul, made me labeled as a ghoul and complete the quest without being a ghoul. Submitted the bug on PTS bug reports for ghoul quest line, even had a video of it. Pretty funny but sad I haven't been able to try being a ghoul.
I dunno man, seems like it kind of sucks to be a ghoul. What is the advantage? What would be the best build that takes advantage of being a ghoul?
Also, having to carrying around a shit ton of toxic goo seems annoying.
The ghoul exclusive perks are absolutely insane
for the grenade perk I still think a build with nuka nades is possible where you replenish glow by staying in the blast radius, basically a walking atom bomb
For me Overeaters was at 0% as a ghoul on PTS, had to use perfect bubblegum to make it the full 6%. So it seems hunger/thirst is still active in the background.
Mine was at 5 out of six thinking it's not supposed to work maybe a bug
I have over 2,000 hours in 76 over 5 years, all in Melee. I’m very glad we’re getting some buffs.
I’m also glad that my long standing dream of being a Ghoul will finally result in Ghoul Melee. It’s a dream come true.
Glad for some buffs? 80%+ damage with glowing meat, plus pounders, does 2500 damage per hit with the auto axe
@ got myself Pounders 👍, just today actually
@@Fehn_Fennec its insanely good, if you run a stranglers PA set, furious, power attack damage 3 strength auto axe with pounders you can kill the raid boss in 57 seconds, hopefully they dont nerf it
@ not a power armor user myself, but I enjoy being Melee. I use similar gear & am super excited for the ghoul update.
I just found out that in order to keep your feral meter low you can’t use Chems, which is perfect as I only use Stimpacks
You can actually put yourself into a hidden rad deficient if you use automatic weapons. Making it extremely dificult to gain radation back. The only way to fix tbis was to go to emmett mountian disposal.
Damn. Seeing all those tanky END perks locked stinks.
Imagine fighting the scorch beast queen inside a nuke zone as a ghoul. Or fighting in any nuke zone. I am predicting a lot more nukes flying in the future.
I can't wait to be a ghoul but I don't think u should be locked out of being a ghoul or human i think the first time should be free and u have to pay next time
Pay? Why would you need to pay at all?
Why would you have to pay ever?
Why would you need to pay at all? What a strange thing to say.
You shouldn't pay at all, free changes as much you like
I know this is a casual game, but I think commitment should matter in an RPG.
Its all sounding pretty cool, just i haven't got enough space to keep changing things and storing stuff, if the ghoul isnt going to have alot of space for items too i just cant change my meta again , i literally have no left in my stash, im on fallout first too, we need double space for our stashes , cause im not starting a new character, love the vid AT
Ghouls aren't immune to addiction? This is the most convoluted method Bethesda could have come up with to make Junkies useful....
The fact I’m on console and there’s not Hot 🥵 button to get my glow back, I’m not starting my ghoul at all until that is fixed period, I’m not going to lose my glow in a moments notice then have to wait to get it back after the coast is all clear…ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NOT🛑🫡🐢💯
The END perks like lead belly are locked out for ghouls because you can't get sick as a ghoul, so they wouldn't have a "downside" of not working when you sick.
As for glow spending perks, I feal like Bethesda is trying to push single shot/slow attacking weapons with big damage, with the ghouls mechanics.
These perks give you a huge damage buff and you don't really care for a small amount of glow, if you basically oneshot your target.
How much if a hassle is it to keep that glow bar going? Is it worth it ? Or to much of a hassle
Less than 10 minutes into video and I already don't want to be a ghoul, or continue playing 76. Just boring af shit.
I think it makes sense that ghouls can get addicted to chems like anyone else - it's their choice how much they take in order to avoid going feral, there should be some consequence to it. Plus... I have a Junkie character I want to ghoulify 😉
Not really a fan of this so far, hope they rework it. Also not beeing able to change back and forth without paying atoms sucks. Merry Christmas all!
Not a fan of how everything is glowing. Your weapon and cloths shouldnt glow. Just you. Or at least not the weapon.
Fix: Make glow separate from HP and not a 2nd health bar so they can still take health damage while glowing, but still limit the glow pool based on HP.
They are gonna add all these melee buffs just to nerf em
Knowing Bethesda? Yes. (sadly)
Mmmm well that makes it a clear choice foe me. No care to be a ghoul. Was hoping the stagger thing was just permanent with the card but it's not so my care to be a ghoul is dead.
If going full feral makes guns unusable arent the consume glow cards just there to micromanage the fact you dont want to glow max?
So do feral ghouls attack you still? Im surprised you didnt show if they do or not
yes they did
According to new game dialogue, it's completely random as to whether feral ghouls will attack player ghouls.
The whole "eat glow to do more damage" is perfectly valid... in nuke zone. ;)
Can you benefit from overeaters armor as a ghoul?
As of right now yes
You should get addicted as A ghoul it just should take more to get addicted then A human...
"ghouls can indeed get addicted to chems, but their experience with addiction differs from that of humans. Ghouls are extremely resistant to the effects of chems, often requiring ultra-jet or engaging in multi-day binges to achieve any noticeable high. However, they can still suffer from addiction and potentially overdose if they have access to a large enough stash of chems."
I remember back when they were saying crossplay was going to be added, it would solve the problem of not being able to hotkey items if i could use keyboard and mouse on console
_may the rads be with you!_
It would be nice to have the ghoul health bar visable to teammates when you're in a team
You can avoid power landing by animation canceling. Holster weapon right before the crash land and it will skip the slam animation, mostly.
It's an easy pass for me. I'll do the quest, possibly turn into a ghoul but revert back right after. Nothing in here that yells" I want that".
Curious, do the feral ghouls recognize the player ghoul as friend or foe?
I'm guessing a junkies build would work like over eaters then if you can't get addicted?
Can't wait to see what they break in game with this content, I've never unsubscribed from anything so fast as I have regarding fo1st and the Bethesda scams.
Do food buffs still work normally as a ghoul?
Do you get the fully fed or thurst bonus?
no
this looks really bad. running slower is a deal breaker
it just makes sense as a ghoul to melee it lore accurate and doesn't make sense to run around shooting as a ghoul it looks Dum it seems like they made it with melee behind it giving us melee folks love
What if, in your mouse software you assign for example keyboard number 2 to your mouse 1 button to rapid press and then but Toxic Goo to the number 2 slot in game. That way every time you shoot/melee you will consume Toxic Goo and wont lose any Glow? 🤔
Seems pretty underwhelming overall.
Does your overeater damage reduction change when you are different % from feral?
no
