Symphony No 2 in A Major by Vasily Kalinnikov (1866-1901) 2. Movement "Cantabile" National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine Theodore Kuchar, conductor Kiev, 02.-06.XI.1994
You will probably be surprised to know about his brother who composed for choirs. Vasily was sick most part of his adult life and passed away being 35 years old.

How sad he died so early and suffered most of his adult life from TB. Such a great talent with sublime lyricism.
I love how he took the main theme of the first movement and adapted it to the cantabile second movement.
I like this movement. Beautiful.
At the risk of sounding like a junior high school girl (not that there's anything wrong with that), this movement always brings me to tears.
listen to it while i lap swim. helps me cope
Beautiful paintings, too, in the montage. Whose are they?
