My holy grail in my possession is the Dynasty misprint cover showing the white straitjackets. Ultra rare and seemingly worth a lot of money. Ironically, i have had it since i was 12 in 1979 but didnt realize its value.
Alive II is and always has been my favorite KISS album! I just love that era of the band and i love the outfits, stage production and whole attitude during that time period.
I love Alive II, but hate the St. Anger-esque, metal trash can snare drum. If it weren’t so infectious musically, that drum sound out render the entire live portion of the album completely unlistenable. I’m sure it would drive a non-fan insane.
Love this video! I have the same passion and have been a DIE-HARD KISS fan since 1976. I'm 53 years old now and will ALWAYS be a KISS fan for life! I'm more into collecting the classic 70's era books and magazines.
Once we experienced the music, merchandise and mania as a kid it just never lets go...it's too much fun :-) Glad you liked the vid . I love all the classic Aucoin era stuff as well
Stellar episode, thank you for sharing such a great KISS collection. Like you KISS has always been such a necessity to my very DNA and always will be, great critique's and thanks again!!!!
I still have my original Alive II gatefold that I bought in early ‘78. Admittedly most of my early Kiss stuff was on cassette. LOL I did have the Ace F solo album and Unmasked on vinyl though. Still have them. :)
Great Video ! I‘m from Switzerland and became a Fan first Time 1977/78 and got Alive II shortly after it came out 1977 ! I was also seven Years old back then and collecting Magazine & Posters etc......! I was 1983 a bit disappointed as Ace Frehley was no longer a Menber of Kiss , saw them first Time with 14 Years 1984 in Swiss (Animalized Europe Tour). (Saw them also 1997 the Reunion Tour with Ace & Peter). 1986/87 my first experience with Kiss was over because Ace left and unmasked it was a different Band ! It came all back slowly second Time in 1993 , then 2014 with the last Re-releas of the Kiss Vinyl Catalog again ! Today I collect a lot of things Lp‘s ; Single‘s ; Posters ; Books; Magazine‘s (Got a lot again which I had back then) ! First I love German prints or Records / Single‘s ! Also Stuff from Holland or the new 2014 USA Re-release of the L’p’s Albums ! I have also some Japan Papersleeve SHM CD‘s.........! But Today I‘m only a Fan from the First Make- up Years 1974 - 1982 with Ace Frehley in the Band !
I remember as a 12 yr old in the 70s,I would walk into the local record shop in Campsie NSW, everyday after school and make my way straight to the K section of the records and go through all the kiss records mesmerised by the art work, and these four guys who looked like something I’ve never seen before. I was so attracted to this band and finally got my mum to buy me my first album which was Love Gun. Love your collection dude. Got to admit it’s better then mine
I just found you. But if ure still going..👏👏👏bravo! Ime 56 and been a KISS fan since I baught the 4 solo singles for 10pounds, of the virgin record shop wall in 79! Saw them, made the manager an offer, couldn’t take my hard earnt quick enough! Bin a fan ever since! Have 400+ vinyls, bootlegs, originals, and some very very rare items. I was, still am obsessed. I’ve seen KISS 38 times. Big respect to you. Ps… my prize possession, an un-opened copy of the originals…. All the best from Australia, Dave. ( from Blackpool uk originally) 👏👏🙌🙌🙌
Hey Marco, I’m an original fan from ‘79/80 in Perth and I can’t believe you found a copy of the originals in Perth in 1981! It took until the late 90’s for me to find that and I looked hard for years before the internet. My first single was also the Sure know Something/ Dirty livin single in 1980..Dig the channel 7 logo on it!
I was like 12 when I bought the Alive II album at Sears. The guy who checked me out took me over to a register far away as he said he didn't want anyone to see him selling this. But some guy was spitting blood on the cover. But thinking back, that's tame compared to today.
Such amazing collection!! I'm big Kiss fan as well...I have a lot of cassettes and CD's , just started with vinyls... Congrats.. Cheers from Argentina.
Hell'o, Marco! This might have been the most entertaining KISS related collection video that I have ever watched. Gotta love your enthusiasm! 💪😎 Great stuff, Jarkko/MyVinylBar PS. Gotta love the Japanese stuff!
I had that same great feeling when I found the alive 2 misprint. I live in Canada which isn't that far from the USA. I was at an outdoor flea market and found the copy for 15Cnd $ I couldn't believe that I had it in my hands and now proudly own it with all the goodies. Great video.
I remember back around 1992 seeing an advertisement in the back of a music magazine in the imports section. The originals II was listed as a Japanese import and the cost was reasonable if I remember correctly. I always kick myself for not buying it back then when KISS vinyl collecting wasn’t as huge as it is now. My only hope of owning a complete one is by trading up on eBay 30 times🤣 I just wish it had alternate mixes or something different about the actual music. I wonder how many were pressed and if there was more than one pressing. Those masks are in great shape!!!
@@DrKazoo9994 - Yes well, they were sold in rather limited places and you sorta had to know the guy - I used to get heaps from a small store in an arcade in Melbourne city - they were always kept under the counter - LOL !!
I remember the craze in the late 70s early eighties and dad took me to see them at Showgrounds and sat in the car waiting for me. I My bedroom walls and ceiling were covered in every kiss poster picture I could find.
I grew up in the KISS era in Toronto and I thought they were these larger than life characters that I'd never meet or get close to... Turns out they recorded a lot of their song just one bus ride away at Nimbus -9 Studios!! D'oh!!!!
My Uncle told me that no one knew what KISS looked like so I found his Lick It Up album and was that dont look like Ace I can see Gene Paul and Peter (That wasn't Peter either) I would have loved to grow up with that mystery.

1977 my cousin showed me KISS Alive II. He says "listen to this, what a f..king racket". I sat there, 15 years old looking at the gatefold picture while I am listening to the album and thinking wtf is this! I am from the U.K and they got NO airplay at all, so I had never even heard the name. Slade were my band 5 years earlier and this were the first band since then to grab me by the youknow whats after them. 3 months after I had all the earlier albums and I bought all the solos on picture disc on day of release. I still listen to them every day. Probably my most collectable album is the Facelift album, live Benelux concert from when they first took the makeup off
I just picked up a special edition for radio station airplay only promotional copy of Rock and Roll over on vinyl. Just wondering if you know anything about it
That's a great find!!! There are 5 different Radio Promo ep's they are all highly collectable. The RnRO one would be the second rarest one (Double Platinum being the rarest). Congratulations :-)
