I had an old /Amana which my parents bought over 30 years ago. I t finally stopped working correctly and I bought a Maytag MVW4505 MW not knowing that it does not give you enough water to wash your clothes even with the max deep fill option on. So I exchanged it for a TC5 after paying a restocking fee of 25 bucks and of course the difference in cost which is significant. The 2 guys that initially delivered the Maytag were very careful , but a different 2 guys delivered the TC5 and they were terrible and careless banging the TC5 on my basement floor several times. I decided to keep it cause I had already paid for it by check and it would have been difficult to return it as I'm sure they would have denied abusing the machine. Fortunately it seems to be okay and I hope it will continue to work cause it is a wonderful washer and it gives you all the water you need even when you do not use it's deep fill option.

Best washing machine ever. No other push buttons are my favorite but this one. Hopefully speed queen will bring back pull and push timer dials for residential top load washers because they’re my favorite. They already brought back the commercial ones I am so happy.
We just got this washer this last Friday. We did laundry all weekend long and lived every minute of it. If you are on the fence about buying this washer and just want good clean clothes , then you need to break down and buy this because it is worth it.

When my parents current washing machine dies I will 100% tell them to consider a Speed queen washer.
So, I never dream to see the old best washing machine that we've seen in history again. And it is so sad that it only exists in USA. Here in Brazil is just a dream. TC5 is the best in the entire world❤. Well I will keep dreaming.

I love the old school type Speed Queen washer, but I've never liked the indexing tub design. The tub does eventually stop indexing at some point though.

How do you keep the water running when you open the lid? I thought they told me mine did, but it doesn’t.
Hello. While your model may not have a lid lock, the machine is not able to operate with the lid open. This includes filling, washing, or spinning.
Which setting do you use for brights and which for dark clothing?
Hi! Usually for bright or darker items, its recommended to wash on colder water to reduce color bleeding. We'd recommend checking fabric care labels to determine the best settings for each item!

I just got my speed queen classic and omg it’s the best washer and dryer I’ve had in 30 years.i had a lg front load that was so bad it kept leaving mold in the door seal with a fan blowing on it 24/7 and the clothes came out smelling worse than when they went in and it’s not even a year and 3 months old..i have cleaned it almost every day since purchase..nothing works..It’s a bad design and they know it .THEY keep selling junk….SHAME on you LG. It was horrible…i bit the bullet and bought the speed queen and now I’m so happy. I’ve got clean, fresh smelling clothes every time. I HAVE NO REGRETS BUYING A SPEED QUEEN WASHER AND DRYER CLASSIC!!!! I love my speed queen.
Give us this minus the computer chip and bring back the old manual timer knobs!!!

It’s called the TV2000 but the store I went to I had to get this special ordered. I’ve seen mechanical timers fail but yet to see a PCB fail on appliances. Only concern with the TC5 are the touch buttons. Tactile buttons would have been better, but it’s quite clever they used these to be transparent to everyone that it doesn’t use a mechanical timer.

@speedqueenhome yes! Remove the computer, add the mechanical timer and ALSO, a water fill option of (small, medium, large) please pretty please!!
How can I wash a small load for just a few items. I don't want to wash a full load everytime
Hi! With our TC5, the water levels are preset to each cycle. The option available to adjust the water level is with the Deep Fill option which will add more water to the tub. Currently, there is not an option to reduce the water usage on this model.
Does that cup-like top come off the agitator for cleaning?
Yes! The fabric softener compartment at the top of the agitator is removeable for cleaning, and should split apart to easily get to everything. 😊
Can you change the wash temperature mid-fill?
Hi! You can change any settings prior to stating the machine or during the first fill only. Once this finishes filling and progresses to the wash stage, the settings would become locked in for the rest of the cycle.

Wish I could get one of these I just don't have the money for. I have a broken kenmore that is able to be fixed so it's sitting in my laundry rrom.
We frequently have repairs on our laundry pairs, so, we'd keep an eye out for a rebate on the set you're interested in to see if that can help! Currently, we have a rebate on a matching pair of our new matte black models 😁
It’s expensive but I spent so much on repairs for my GE gtv2 in only 4-5 years I could have upgraded to a speed queen. That doesn’t even include the cost of my labor or money spent going to the laundromat when it was broken waiting to diagnose and for parts to arrive. I took the TC5 floor model with a dent in the back side for a discount. I’m sure you can find one at a discount if you spend some time searching.
Wow, I have to call a repair tech tomorrow as my tc5 failed after just 10 months for moderate use. Smoking rubber, making insane noise during wash cycle, and now leaking on bottom. Good grief. Even if the warranty is good, i dont want to have to deal with this on a $1400 washer after less than a year. Everything is crap now, isn’t it?

We generally don't recommend washing bulky king sized comforters in our machines. This is less about it "not fitting" and more because we can't guarentee the great results our machines are known for with something of that size!
I wash my King size blankets--not filled comforters--in it.
Too me Tc5 is better than the TR series TC series is better
I can’t stand mine I wish I had never bought it. It doesn’t get clothes clean it doesn’t even spin the water out of them properly. I have to use the additional spin on it which adds more time and wastes more electricity. It is really hard on fabric. BUY SOMETHING ELSE THIS IS CRAP.

@@SpeedQueenHome I am dubious. I already called them about the fact that the shipping brace and plug got removed by and disposed of by the colders employees who installed it. Apparently they need to be intact if I want to move the machine based on the owners manual. Some really unpleasant female employee I reached told me that was untrue. So why put that in your manual?? I don’t trust your product or those who distribute it at this point.
@@lizadivine3785 We would recommend re-installing the shipping material to keep the tub stabilized for transportation to another area or home. If the installers took these with them, we'd recommend reconnecting with the store to get them back.
