@Witchytoe agreed. He's my fave drummer as well. He's a drummer's drummer. Plays the drums like what they are, an instrument, not simply as a tool. Stanier is a musician through and through, not just a drummer.
one thing you wont be able to get from live footage is how crazy fucking loud these guys are holy shit you will definetley need to get some steroids in your ear from your ent after there set
Everyone comments on where Stanier's crash is mounted...what about that neck-level hi-hat?! Or maybe they're just a matched pair of small crash cymbals!
Guitar, 2 keyboards + other shit - that one dude can't do it all. I think it's clear they need a fourth member, if only to tour with so the 3 active ones can really get down.
"In August 2010, Battles announced that Tyondai Braxton left the band; Braxton had indicated that he did not want to go on tour, while Battles already had a touring schedule lined up for the upcoming year."
when Tyondai braxton was in the band he had just as complex of a setup for himself as the one ian williams has while also looping vocals on top of all of that.
Stanier is one of the greatest drummers of all time. The man is infected with the groove and it’s contagious
Kings of the build up/slow down, build up/slow down jam.
No over flashy solos,no egos, all about the chemistry.Love it!
one of my favourite drummers.
One of the best drummers ever, and my favourite.
i love him, but i dont have experience with drums or drumming. could you describe to me what makes him special compared to other drummers?
its not so much how he holds up against other drummers its what he does in this band that makes him special imo

I have listened to this every day for like a month, I love this band and especially John Stanier!!
They are due for another record. Hopefully sooner than later.
@@henrycurtis3652 HAPPY NOW???

Los mejores del festival en mi opinión.

Battles, do another record. Just record a jam and it would be enough.
Yamaha snare though?
the drummer looks like he could also be in ramstein
Maravilhoso
vine de la zona cero
So what's this band doing in 2018?
I haven't heard of anything. Like, at all. Which is depressing, because I'd probably drive a couple hundred miles to see them live.
Unfortunately they are down to duo now, after losing Kono

Ian use a lot of loops, in Don Caballero he make 3 guitars with 1.
