There is something else no one seems to talk about. And I want to ask you two. Nikon vs Sony when it comes to TTL performance for OCF and ND filters. I used Sony with both Profoto and Godox equipment and TTL consistently failed to produce good results with wide apertures (it heavily underexposed). This does not happen to me with Nikon bodies, unless I screw my metering (user error). I currently use TTL to get an initial good estimate of flash power in unusual situations , and I then switch to manual flash for consistency. With Nikon I get almost the same results I get with a flash meter. With Sony, under those same conditions (say f/1.4+ND(-6), ISO100 and 1/125s) TTL underexposes. Have you guys seen this behavior Manny, Francisco?

In my opinion the point of having f 1.4 or f 1.2 lens are not to shoot at those apeture it is to stop it down to get sharper image but it is argueable that in this day and age the miniscule difference is not worth anything and if that is where you are coming from I totally agree with you but the fact still remains that the image is sharper (most of the times because there will always be exeption for example vintage lens that can go to f 1 will not be sharper than modern days lens if stopped down) and for the focusing problem he is not being negative he is just being objective because the fact is nikon is the only camera with the problem that he showed in the video and you camera not focusing and even though it might not even be noticeable the problem is still there and may be the cause of some missed shot and I kind of knows how he feels because I'm a panasonic shooter which is not really known for having a great autofocus and this autofocus which nearly caused me a missed shot and is what is starting to push me over the edge to fuji right now and I am looking at what they are doing with the xh2 speculation and rumor.

As a Nikon Z7 II shooter (coming from the D850) I thought this was a very fair video. The only thing I have to laugh about is TH-camrs pointing out the 1.08 crop at 4k 60fps. C'mon maan can you even tell there is a crop when you are shooting it? LOL. It's not like the EOS R with it's 1.7x crop. Plus, the 2021 Roadmap does not have a single f1.8 lens coming out (those are all released). The new 85mm is rumoured to be f1.2 (I already have the 1.8 and it's excellent). We don't know what aperture the other prime lenses are going to be yet (it's not stated on the Roadmap). You need to be clear on that if you are going to say such things because stating they will be 1.8 is inaccurate...

I'm going to wait though to see what they come out with.... 8 etc. Thougt about 9, but I'm fine with this, and hopefully they can come up with an in between 9 and 7ii without bulkiness of 9.

Hello! Please help me with opinions! I am looking to upgrade from my Nikon D5200. It's time lol, I have had it since 2014. I am heavily considering the Nikon Z6ii. I specialize in concerts and weddings (weird mix I know) - but I enjoy both. The weddings will be paying for this camera, but the concerts are where my creativity comes through. I have quite a few Nikon lenses too so hoping to stay with Nikon. Does the Z6ii perform well in lowlight for concert photography? It is typically EDM/raves that I shoot. This is also important for wedding receptions once the dancing begins. Would love any feedback as it is a huge purchase for me. As I research I am seeing the autofocus isn't great on the z6ii in low light and I care about that, BUT I am unsure if that is extremeeee lowlight for landscape / wildlife photography. I just need something that works for me, but I wanted to see if anyone would share their insights. I have 6 shoots scheduled through September alone so want to make the right choice! ( I have been renting the Z5 and really enjoy the mirrorless but want to stop renting!)

Great review. I know this is probably a daft question before I ask, but I’m not very experienced with photography ,though I have used some apsc cameras, this is my first time making the jump to full frame.
I’ve researched several FF cameras in the last two weeks, I’m looking at the Sony a7iv, a7riv, canon r5 ( though really out of my budget ) and this nikon z7 ii which I can just about afford ( brand new )
I mainly shoot landscapes and portraits so 46mp is the sweet spot for me in that regard, though I want to ask specifically about the auto focus on the Nikon z7 ii, having 499 auto focus points, in comparison to the Sony a7i 700+ , a7riv 500+ do you think the nikon offers enough in that regard compared to the competition? Excuse my knowledge, maybe auto focus points don’t matter too much, I just want to make sure before I take the plunge and go for the nikon, as it looks like it will meet my needs on paper( video isn’t so important to me)

Forgive me. This might be because I am still on a DSLR, but pretty much the first thing I learned was to select the AF point myself and not use something like auto area AF, exactly because you leave it up to the camera, and I want to decide where it should focus. Even if an R5 decides to focus where I want it 95% if the time, I’d still rather choose the AF point myself. You say it’s a workaround. Again, maybe it’s because I’m using a DSLR, but I can’t imagine thinking like that.
