    Thanks for the non-biased review. I appreciate your opinions as a reviewer. Too many TH-camrs go for headlines and clickbait reviews, but as a photo community, we can all say that you are fair in your reviews. Thanks Manny! :)

    • @EduardoMurillo
      @EduardoMurillo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was good to see an unbiased review on Z6ii without using a click bait negative headline. It's a solid camera for the price point. Some TH-camrs are unfairly comparing this camera to other brand models that are well beyond this price range. That's like comparing car models of different price brackets.

    I’ve always been rooting for Nikon. Even after switching to Sony, I can’t bring myself to get rid of my D610. I have always felt their images are better for me than Sony or Canon, but they fell so far behind in video and mirrorless that I couldn’t see myself staying with them and investing In the z mount. Hoping this camera knocks it out of the park - idk if I’ll ever switch back but Nikon is a great camera company and I hope they do well.

      I’m with you. I switched from Nikon to Sony for 3 years but still keep a Df. Unlike some early reviewers trashed Z6/7 ii without actually testing the cameras, this is a fair and unbiased opinion.

      As a Nikon user I support this post and I do feel the same way. I'm using the d850 and considering the new Sony for video features. 4k 60 fps really was the major selling point. Maybe if this Nikon nails that I'll stick to it, I've got some expensive glass

    I still can not understand some of you guys that are sayin “flawed first mirrorless” release from Nikon.
    I’ve got mine a while back with fw 2.0 and adapted lenses and i used it with no major problems at weddings and events. I like it from second 1 better than my previous body D750. Better keep rate, better usability in different scenarios.
    The only things that need to be adressed were the 2nd card slot and battery grip with those function buttons.
    Other than that, i felt like “home” from the beginning with everything sorted out very good (interaction and handeling)
    Keep tryin to get better pictures not better gear because gear is frickin awesome threse days.
    I can back my words with a lot of pictures from weddings.

    One of the great things about the Nikon is the fact you can click between the eye in focus. You can do that with Sony but only with the A9s as I understand which are far more expensive. So it's a major benefit. It used to bug me all the time with teh Sony A7riii that the camera would choose the eye to focus on and I couldn't override that.

    Truthfully, that AF issue shown at 0:23 happens with a lot of cameras (including DSLRs) when they catch on to something that's in a different end of the AF range than your subject. It's simply a byproduct of going full area AF and allowing the camera to make every decision regarding what it thinks the subject is. No matter how sophisticated AF systems get, this will happen if you go full area AF all the time. Regardless of what camera you have, grabbing the af ring and bringing it back in the realm of your subject and then jamming the AF-ON button is a good fix to have in your mind.

    Has anyone compared the Nikon z 1.8 primes to the RF 1.8 primes ?

    • @Agora1981
      @Agora1981 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      For what i heard , rf 1.8 are pretty slow and dont forget; those rf1.8 are not L line. Nikon 1.8 are S line. Are pro level quality lenses (slower than f1.4 or 1.2) with pro results. Is not all about the aperture. Taylor Jackson has the Canon and Nikon 35mm 1.8's and they are nowhere bere.

    Been waiting to upgrade my D610 for a while. This looks to be my next "real" camera. I can use my 2.8 zoom F-lenses (with the adaptor) and try out the new Z mount lenses as well. Looking forward to getting way better AF, low-light performance and use it as a video camera from time to time. Can't wait!

    I have being a Nikon shooter for many years and loved their products. When mirrorsless came, I briefly owned cameras from Sony and Fuji because at heart I truly wanted a mirrorsless from Nikon and got the Z6 on day one. Though Nikon has made the Z6 better with firmware updates, to me it still feel behind comparing it to it's Sony and Canon equivalents. I plan on renting the Z6 II and trying it out for myself as it will determine if I sell my Z6 and get the mark II or will switch to Sony when the upcoming A7 IV comes out. Thanks for your review.

    I'm really interested in that wide area eye AF, I wish they add that to the z6 and z7 in firmware

    • @zfisher

      @@staLkerhu mark 2 will still have the faster processor, better AF, two card slots. But you're right, only fuji would do a firmware update like that

    Thanks Manny. Been looking forward to your thoughts on this camera. Sounds like autofocus is better and the wide area is nice. I also want to like this camera because I think the images are really good and the camera feels good in hand (Z6 did anyways). How is the focus farther away compared to the sony a7III?

    Hope you guys are doing good. I am really looking forward to your next video about the Z6ll or Z7ll. and how much the auto focus has actually improved. and how it stacks up now to Sony and Canons focusing. I know you liked the original Z camera allot but were not happy with the focusing. so it will be interesting to see how you think of it now. you are one of the few people that like Sony, Canon and Nikon. same as me. so I trust your opinion as not being total fanboy opinion. so when you get the new camera with the final firmware. please do a really good review and comparison of the focusing. and show a hit rate comparison in different scenarios. there are allot of people other than me waiting for a review and comparison like this. because so far all we have gotten are Nikon ambassadors avoiding talking about how much the focusing has improved.

    I ordered a Z7II today and am thrilled with my decision. Also reserved a S 24-70 f2.8. Nikon listened to their customers and made the right changes. I can respect that. Plus the Z glass is great and made for long term use with many future bodies. Even the colours out of my D3 are great so I can just imagine what i'm going to get.

    Thanks for the quick review. The preproduction AF overlay looks a little less impressive than the competition but good enough no doubt. The z6 is an intriguing camera and the Nikon image quality is my fave from the top 3 but I can't help wanting to wait for the a7iv before taking the plunge. I think it will have beast like qualities.

    Manny or sb else: did you find technique or setting for Z6/Z7 to focus on eyes? I have both Z6 and Z7 and perfect focus on eyes is less than 30% (for ISO 800-3200,shorter times than 1/125). It seems like eye lash focus problem (front focus). Often when looking at pictures taken the square is on the eye but it’s not sharp...Interesting but sucess rate is better for 70-200 FL lens than 50mm S. 105E - the worst. Firmware 3.18, pretty sure settings are right, AF-C mode, BBF. Tried AF-S Pinpoint or Zoom-in every time instead, but that’s annoying...checked my lens, no need for calibration...PS except selling and buying “II”, as now MK1 lost their value on 2nd market completely

    Here's the FACTS.the Z6 didnt suffer from opinions about specs,it suffered from ACTUAL problems,so that was the source of the 'drama'..I certainly hope Nikon has bounced back,because they havent done anything of note since the amazing D850..

    For action is the Z camera serious too slowly... Nikon has done a very bad algorithm for fast autofocus... You just focus on some close objects and then you focus on far away.... The camera needs seconds... And that is seeing here also... And sometimes I could not make a picture when I changed the focus point... For action is even cheaper DSLR cameras much faster... I have compared it with my Nikon D7200 ... Okay, you think that is not fair.... It is fair, the NIkon D7200 is much cheaper and 100 times faster in focusing.....

    I mainly shoot portraits and events. I have 105mm 1.4E
    Will z6 2´s eye-AF and IBIS feature benifit. Is it a good choice to move from d850 to z6 2 or should i continue with d850 for some more time.

    Estou querendo fazer vídeos de festa infantil, sem perder o propósito que é a fotografia. Acredita que ela é boa pra isso?
    Na Sony existe o s-log, na z6ii tem alguma função similar?

    Hi
    Would you recommend me moving from d850 to z6 2 for events and portrait shoots. I was wondering if z6 2s eyeAF will be good benifit over d850. Or should I continue with d850. Many times I feel some expressions are missed due to not so perfect focusing.

    Problem is Z6 II is priced at $3600 - $4000 Australian dollors while A7 Mark 3 and Z6 (original) are $2600 AUD.
