Great video! I currently have my B.S. in Psychology. Was in a Master program for Speech-Language Pathology, but it ended up not being what I wanted. I now work as an Admin for researchers. One of those researchers thought I would be a good fit for HR, so here I am. I really think I want to get an HR masters with a focus on data analytics.

Excellent video David as always. Been following your YT journey from quite early on and it's amazing to see how your production quality keeps getting better with every video. Excited for you to get to 1K subscribers soon :) I would love to see a video from you where you talk about what IT platforms your team uses for HR Case management and how it has evolved over time and if you have any stories around its implementations and lessons learnt. I'm a ServiceNow developer responsible for the HR module in our organization just to give some context regarding the request. Thanks!

Thanks Mohammed! Appreciate your feedback! I'm very close, 11 to go! 🤓
The majority of organisations that I've worked in have used pretty basic options i.e. spreadsheets, Sharepoint etc. I've had some thoughts on how it could be done in Notion...

    Hi David,
    Great video - very informative.
I have a bachelors in Social Work and I’m looking to move into a HR space. I was wondering what your thoughts are on the Graduate Diploma of HR for entering the workforce and how it fairs in terms of future employment prospects. I was looking at a masters however, it’s rather expensive. Any advice?

I have a masters in mental health counseling. Would this be transferable to HR. I’m not interested in going back to school unfortunately

Hi great video and very insightful. I've completed my bachelor's in international relations and I'm looking at doing a master's in HR to learn more theoretics behind HR practice. Also coming from a hospitality working background, I was wondering if.. if doing my master of HR and applying what I've learned and worked in do you feel HR would be highly beneficial say if were to be employed in an HR field?

      Hi Tim,
      Thanks for your comment!
Prior to enrolling in a Masters of HR, I'd recommend getting some solid HR Generalist experience (5-10 years). That way you'll have examples to draw upon if you decide to study HR.
Working in HR will also give you more data to make a decision in terms of whether a Masters of HR is right for you!

Thank you so much for your video! I found it insightful.
I don't have an HR background, but I would like to transition into HR. I have a degree in economics, and now I have to choose between a master in HR or an MBA. I'm leaning towards an MBA just so I could be more flexible, but what would you do in this situation?
Again, thanks! You earned a new subscriber btw. 😉

You’re welcome! I’m glad it was helpful!
I agree that an MBA would give you flexibility, but a Masters in HR would assist in developing a career in HR. Especially because you don’t have an undergraduate degree in HR.
Personally I would try to gain some experience in HR, before deciding on my next degree.
Hope that helps! Feel free to send me an email if you’d like to discuss further!

A masters degree is a big investment. I would be asking myself: Which will make me more competitive? Which aligns to my long term goals? What am I passionate about and how does this align? Hope this helps.

Does the masters program in Human Resource Management have a lot of math? I’m asking because I’m not good at math

Hello David, my bachelors is in Safety Management. I was curious as to if this could be considered a related field to HR. Thanks!

Hi David, I studied HR at Bachelor's degree now I am studying Masters in Economics and Business Administration, and I see this course totally different from my Bachelor degree HR. I really want to switch to something that is more related to my bachelor's. Really need your advice.

      Hi Isata,
Thanks for your comment, I think that studying something different from your Bachelor’s degree provides you with different ways of thinking.
I studied something unrelated to my bachelor’s degree. I cover this in more detail in the video!

Is there any benefits to getting an MBA in HR, or MSc. Is fine within the field.

    • @DavidMalan01
      @DavidMalan01  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey Cardell, if I was working in HR I wouldn't study complete an MBA in HR. I stick to a general MBA. Or I'd choose a MSc in something different to HR!

Which one do ya prefer Hrm or management?
I got chance in two unis. i got hrm in a pretty good uni and marketing in a lil bit lower ranked uni.
Tho i like marketing, I think I'd go with hrm for bachelor and would go with marketing for masters😀is this gonna be good or bad?

    • @DavidMalan01
      @DavidMalan01  2 ปีที่แล้ว

It’s hard to determine whether it’s good or bad. It really depends on your career goals, and what you enjoy doing. I did an HRM for my Bachelor’s and Marketing for my Masters and I feel they complimented each other.

    IT DOESN'T WORTH IT
MAYBE A MASTER DEGREE BUT A BACHELOR DEGREE NO
IN HR SALARIES ARE VERY LOW
THE PROCESS OF HIRING IS THROUGH A KIN FAMILY FAMILY
    THE EMPLOYEES ENNOY YOU
THERE IS NO NECESSARY A DEGREE IN HR TO WORK IN HR BELIEVE ME
