- Yasmin Le Bon: The Untold Story of the Supermodel Who Had It All (But Lost So Much)
Ever wondered what happens behind the glossy covers of fashion magazines? The untold story of Yasmin Le Bon reveals a life that seemed perfect, but was filled with heartbreak, struggles, and resilience. From her rise as one of the highest-paid models of the '80s to facing devastating losses and rumors about her marriage, Yasmin’s journey is a raw, unfiltered tale of love, strength, and perseverance. Dive into the life of the ultimate supermodel and rockstar wife-Yasmin Le Bon.
Video Summary:
In this video, we take you through Yasmin Le Bon’s incredible journey-from a regular girl in Oxford to one of the most iconic supermodels of the '80s and '90s. Discover how she navigated a fast-paced career, personal heartbreaks, and the ups and downs of fame. From her unexpected start in modeling to her passionate yet tumultuous relationship with Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon, Yasmin’s story is filled with powerful moments of triumph and struggle. She wasn’t just a model; she was a wife, a mother, and a woman who showed the world what true resilience looks like.
You've done your homework - I'm impressed! The dedication it took to produce this is absolutely incredible.
Coming from you-the closest thing to Yasmin’s own voice-means more than I can say. 💖I watched all your videos on repeat to piece her story together, so hearing this from you? It’s everything.
Honestly, though… I’m really struggling. Seven videos in, and the hate comments have me crying at my desk most days. I don’t know how you’ve kept pushing for so long.
Please, if anyone wants to celebrate Yasmin, follow her channel-you’re the true keeper of her legacy. 🌟
Simon was a big ol cheater back in the day. I'm glad she saw past this.
How awesome that you, ma’am, the person featured in the video, has commented, is pretty cool. So sorry I had your husbands poster on my wall when I was 11. He was my favorite, ☺ Hello to you and him, from Southern California.
Simon and Yasmine have been married almost 40 years have three adult children. Nothing in this video is anything more than the average couples go through every day. Nothing dark at all about her life. I would say she has had a magical life. A model with the protection of a pop star husband. Always gives them an advantage over others. She is one of the lucky ones. Got in made a good strong marriage, celebrated in the UK had kids and got out. I hope they move toward their future retirement as Simon is 66 and Yasmin is 60 with comfort and ease.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! While Yasmin and Simon’s enduring marriage and success are truly inspiring, I wanted to highlight in the video that even those in the spotlight face deeply human struggles. Yasmin, for instance, has openly shared about enduring two miscarriages-a pain so many can relate to, regardless of fortune or fame. It’s a reminder that life’s challenges don’t discriminate, even when privilege cushions other aspects. Their story isn’t just about a 'magical' life, but resilience through both joy and hardship. Here’s hoping their next chapter is as fulfilling as the rest-and that we all remember no one’s journey is without its storms, glittering or not. Cheers to relatable humanity!
I agree with your take on life. But the headline and the angle of the video is misleading IMO@@EleganceEcho.
@@EleganceEcho. Is your answer also AI generated? So bizarre.
@@EleganceEcho.Your videos I’ve seen are Always well researched & Respectful and entertaining, though sometimes the Titles can seem slightly salacious . I understand you need to name them something catchy to get the attention of the average you tuber, but I,be seen some of your subjects write nice comments, obviously happy with the contents. I was a commercial MUA for 35years and have seen Yasmin Le Bon many times throughout the years and can honestly say she is one of the most beautiful people I’ve seen, always very natural with little make up , she has amazing skinI and beautiful eyes . I last saw her about a year or so ago and she honestly looks the same , looking to be at most in her thirties and I ‘d say she must have great genes as I really doubt she has had any cosmetic work .
Keep up the great work , there are endless subjects you could cover, there aren’t too many videos about the beautiful Vogue. cover models from 1970’ s and 80,s who weren’t household names ( usually their choice) , Iconic models like Donna Jordan & Jane Forth , Male Models .like 1st male Supermodel Oscar 'Pelito’Galvez
It's Parvana, if I'm not mistaken. It sounds stressful, sure but exciting, lively and dynamic.. honestly if you live long enough you realize life is about loss. We all lose it all.
It is absolutely amazing that they're still together. Them both making room for the other's independence has to be a huge help. They are a rarity in show business
seems she actually has lived a charmed life, early success, long career, recognition, wealth, children, solid marriage, good husband .... having miscarriages is sad but not unusual and she had 3 successful pregnancies.
True; not more complicated than other people!
Disagree with your title that implies that something sinister happened - Yasmin still has it all, with her 40th wedding annivesary coming up, plus Simon and her are now proud grandparents with another grandchild on the way :)
ty for the note! 🙏 my bad if the title felt shady-it’s just a clicky way to share her story with new peeps (baby youtuber here, still learning 😅). zero harm meant, promise! congrats to her & Simon on 40 yrs-icons fr. will def keep improving titles. appreciate u! ✨🔥
@@EleganceEcho. Oh no, I didn't think any harm was meant, don't worry - best of luck with your YT channel! :)
Agree, the title makes it seem like she's a failure or has had a bad life.
At this time there were several ‘ethnically ambiguous’ models who were superstars.
The lovely Gail Elliot, Helena Christiansen among them.
It was only the magazine editors who stuck to blue eyed blondes.
The designers have always loved unusual beauty. They weren’t afraid of it. You could see it in the catwalk casting.
Yasmin was/is lovely!
And the famous mannequin manufacturer, Rootstein, solidified her beauty in fiberglass by casting her into a mannequin sold worldwide. I employed it often in my window presentations, and her likeness made everything look phenomenal!
I adore her and all the beautiful women of that era.
Apart from the bad title, i enjoyed this, i didn't know she had lost a baby when drum capsized, that made me cry.
One of my fave 'celeb' couples, Simon and Yasmin compliment each other congratulations for their 40th wedding anniversary
People forget how successful she was esp in the UK before Naomi & Kate rocked up.
clickbait title. she's not washed up and hasn't lost it all. This is just a narrated version - and filled with redundancy - of all the press that's been out there about her. re her start: She didn't have ambition or motivation; the narrator just explained that! Yasmin loved fashion but was confused about career direction. Models 1 was a lark. It's a good thing Yasmin is so photogenic or this would have been 20 minutes I could never get back.
Yasmin is beautiful ❤ And i think her and Simon make a beautiful couple. This was an interesting story.
Love the stories about models. Especially 90s supermodels
Glad you are vibing with it 🔥🔥 drop your top faves need to know 👀
@@EleganceEcho. Gail Elliot
Excellent video. Well researched and thoroughly entertaining. Please do a dive into the life of 90’s ‘’It Girl’ Amber Valetta. Don’t be concerned with people complaining about the clicky title either. We know it’s an algorithm necessity.
Folk should do a deep dive into EGI.
Jesus she was so stunningly gorgeous she made the ugliest wedding dress look beautiful 🤩✨
Yasmin ate and left no crumbs ✨🔥 lowkey doubt today’s models could serve like that.
She was always one of my favorites. I happy everything worked out well for her.
Yasmin's face may not have fit in with the blonde, blue-eyed, fairer-skinned model aesthetic of the time, but a fundamentally beautiful face like hers always transcends trivial colouring anyway. A beautifully structured and proportioned face, with attractive features (eyes, nose, mouth, cheekbones, jawline), rises above all that.
Gia was the first to dominate the runway... she was the one that broke the mold. Gia was androgynous she could switch at will... all things to all people.
She was the ionic image of a supermodel before supermodels existed.
Sadly she couldn't handle the pressure.
She became an addict and died of AIDS at 26.
Rip 😢🎉
I have met and talked to both Mr. and Mrs. LeBon. They are seriously your typical couple. She was happy and sweet as she could be honestly. They even had a little couple back forth with snarky comments but you could tell they genuinely loved each other and were in sync. Couples have problems but the title implies that she is in a horrible situation. We don’t know what happens behind closed doors. Mrs. Le Bon appeared well and at peace. I am truly a fan of hers apart from her husband.
At the same time Rockstars and Supermodels rule together and there were a few Rockstar-Supermodel couple which included them, Paulina Porizkova and The Cars' Ric Ocasek, The Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall (she was blamed for the divorce of Mick and Bianca), and lastly Axl Rose and Stephanie Seymour.
Don't forget David Bowie & Iman
And Susan Holmes with Duff McKagan
Kate Moss and pete Dougherty
Been obsessed with the rockstar x supermodel era-total chaos chic 💥👗🎸 def planning a vid on it! drop more names you’d wanna see deep-dived… need the tea 👀✨
Helena Christensen and Mickael hutchence, Stéphanie Seymour and axel rose ...
Love her!!! Great story, thank you for posting.
I've loved these short documentaries on the 90's supermodels. I was about 10 or 11 when I discovered the supermodels in the mid 80's. Being a lover of everything fashion and beauty, I'd save my pocket and babysitting money to buy Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Elle then my obsession grew when George Michael cast them in his Freedom and Too funky music videos on MTV. My bedroom walls were covered pctures of all the top models in the magazines. My personal Favourites were Christy, Linda, Claudia, Yazmeen Ghauri, Nadia Aurman, Helena, Amber Valetta, Stephanie Seymore, Paulina, and Tatiana Patitz. Tatiana's passing was so very sad. I would love you to do a documentary on Tatiana. The others are in many documentaries on YT, but you don't hear about Tatiana much, but she was an intelligent, fascinating woman who spoke many languages fluently from a very young age. She als mentored a few of the other top models, particularly Christy Turlington, who then went on to mentor Naomi and Kate.
Please reporter, make a video about Helena Christiansen as well in the same celebratory terms! It will be fun to watch her ambition unfolded!
PS and Gail Elliot shoud come out even better, if you add her drunk reacts on IG...
Say less girl 🔥
She looks like Kiera Knightly in some of the looks and at some angles.
also a mix of Salma Hayek
@@markdwighttadina7655 I can totally see that.
Can you do one about the gorgeous Gisele Bündchen, because of her, she ended the heroin chic with her healthy and curvaceous figure, bringing back the sexy body that was once popular in the in the 1980s to early 1990s, she also caused the invasion of Brazilian models also known as the bombshells, she also popularized her iconic runway walk called the horse walk, and lastly, she would also become the highest paid supermodel of all-time.
No she didn't!
The queen is obviously on the list. 👑🔥 stay tuned, bestie! 💅
OBSESSED WITH YOUR VIDEOS:))))!!!!💖
This made my whole day-thank you!! 😭💖Stay tuned, more vids coming your way ASAP 🎥✨
OMG TY NP :)IM SO EXCITED FOR THE NEW VIDS!!!!! :)))💖💖💖YOU MAKE MY WHOLE DAY WHEN YOU UPLOAD A NEW VID !!!♡ 💖:)))
Could you do a video on the dark side of the fashion industry
Your ask is SO important, and trust me-I’ve tried. 😔 I touched on the dark side in my Karen Mulders video, but TH-cam restricted it and nearly deleted my channel. 💔 I’m desperate to expose this stuff so new models know the risks, but posting it publicly feels like Russian roulette with TH-cam’s rules. An ‘expert’ told me to lock it behind a paywall (members-only), but charging people for my videos? That feels so wrong-I don’t think I’m that good for folks to pay just to watch me. Still trying to find a way to share it freely. If you’ve got ideas-please let me know. I’m all ears. 🖤
I don't agree that all models were blonde. Gia wasn't blonde. Cyndy wasn't blonde. Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Yasmeen Ghauri, Tatjana Patitz, Ines de La Fressange, Helena Christiansen, none of them was blonde. In fact the only blonde was Claudia Schiffer.
YESSS SHE'S POSTED!!!
YESS BESTIE 👑🔥 STAY TUNED FOR MORE CHAOS 💅✨
Love your videos! Can you do nadege du bospertus please?
tyy! 🫶 nadege just secured a spot on the list-stay tuned bestie! 🔥✨
The only correction I would like to make is that the top 3 supermodels of the 80s are Iman, Dalma and Anna Bayle. Love the video!!!!
Not really! Never heard of 2 of them.
Totally agree-never said she was *the* top, just one of the highest-paid legends! 🔥 Btw, working on an Iman deep dive rn 👀 stay tuned! And ty for watching!! 🙏✨
@@janeflip1 I didn't know her name but I remember Anna Bayle's photos for Yves St Laurent. Fashion magazines were amazing. Last Vogue I read made me decide never to buy one again.
He definitely was a big ol cheater back in the day. I can't believe she stuck by him.
And he wasn't even good-looking. If anyone should have been in a position to cheat, it was Yasmin, because she was gorgeous and desirable! I'll never understand ugly men with beautiful wives, who cheat.
Thank you for this, however a little music in the background wouldn’t hurt, it “sounds” like a news report.
How about Niki Taylor?
Niki was my favorite!❤
Noted! 🫶
I loved her ❤
What model to feature next?Evangelista!!
DEVON AOKI:
can you do a video like this for devon aoki plz? I feel like people forget that she's a supermodel but she prioritize family and a private life over fame, even though she still models its rearly talked about.....plz plz plz do a video on her
devon’s 100% on the list 👑✨ her lowkey icon status needs its moment. stay tuned, bestie! 🔥
@EleganceEcho. so so glad, thank you for listening! :)

Noted!
Yasmine and Yasmeen Ghauri look like sisters.
Por favor me encanta tu contenido, gracias gracias gracias Thank you for your videos! Obsessed!!!
tyy 🥺💖 comments like this keep me going fr 😭 stay tuned , more chaos comin’ 🔥✨
You thrive on misery, don’t you? You create it where there is none.
dislike for misleading title.
Yas is just fine ! Stop making up things
Completely agree
5:25 She didn't have the right face for those times? Typical top models nonsense! Naomi telling now that black girls weren't welcomed on the runways, in times when YSL, Issey Miyake and Ungaro where dominating the fashion shows, where their black models were the stars. so Yasmine complained her genetic heitage in times when Philippines, Gambian, Somali, Indian, Brazilian, Guayana (YSL Muse) Japanese, Mali, even Icelandic girls were all the rage!
These British models ( who were making an exclusive circle between them and USA & Canadian models, no other included, probably boycotted , consequently canceled, if you had not that kind of passport... ) Started the changing mentality on catwalks, and I believe they did it intentionally! Alek Wek? Could survive just because of her British nationality and she came later to the scene. We had to wait 25 years to see another Sudanese (looking) girl on the runway because of the damages the Supermodels' power brought to fashion for economic gain.
I m the same age as Yasmeen, conveniently called Le Bon for PR reasons, don't remember her family name anymore, but she kept it at the beginnings.
I remember the fashion trends since at least 1980, because I m the same age of her and because it was an exiting time for fashion, this is why I m aware how much Hypocritical the supermodels are : playing the victim all the time, meanwhile they stood in a lucky era they directed making force on each other!
Naomi does it all the time: meanwhile she had taken lots of $ from her charities! that's their mentality right now for many colleges' of her.
They weren't Stella Tennant or Tatiana Patiz kind of Demure girls AT ALL! Thurlington? Look at pret a porter docu and notice how $ directed even on video she was...
Yas? you married for fame? Pay the consequences!
She still has it all ??
rene' Simonsen
Click bait 🙄🙄
Patti Hansen married Keith Richard’s, Jeri Hall married Mick Jaeger, Paulina Poriskova married Rick Ocasic, Iman married David Bowie and so on❤❤❤❤
Allegedly he was unfaithful, but the bands PR demanded unecessarily a sexy image. Truth the amount of money was lies, not all glam & some tough times. Theyre doing ok in Richmond, she prefers to say wandsworth apparently putney high street not nice, never understood why they dont live in chiswick or marylebone.
You wasted 2 whole minutes of this video telling us what would be in the video! That’s like a middle essay!
Nadege
Click bait 🤮
Why so dramatic?
She has botox injected into her face, so she is not “naturally beautiful” (“Oh, it’s just genes!!” - No it isn’t, you had botox.) And Simon le Bon is one of the most arrogant and despicable “stars” out there, I can’t stand any of those bands, their arrogance is contemptible. Most famous people are like that. I was watching videos of models who are bullied by modelling agencies to “lose weight” (disgraceful they should be told to do that, they are stick thin anyway). That’s why this video came up on my feed.
Yasmin has admitted to having a bit of botox, but at least she still looks natural--unlike many celebrities. It must be hard to age in front of the camera, especially when you've been known for your beauty all your life. As for Simon's arrogance. It was very apparent in their early years. You could see it in his photographs, in his demeanor on video and in his interviews, but he has become less so over the years. Maybe Yasmin has helped him with this change. Even he has said that the rest of the members of the band have helped him not to be an arrogant jerk. You can see it now in interviews. He actually laughs at himself. My sister and I met him in 1990, giving him a lift back from ABC studios in Los Angeles to his hotel. He was quite friendly and signed the Cosmopolitan magazine that had just come out with Yasmin on the cover: "She's mine, all mine, all mine, all mine, all mine," referencing one of the songs on their lates album at the time. I find it commendable that he is very generous, donating to various causes and paying for Andy Taylor's cancer treatment.
Such BS
