The vintage style of 'gliding' on runaway is so much captivating and appealing than the newer one. Please bring it back, please
the Filipina Anna Bayle …was refinement in visual performance in every runway walk ..put together in motion….she literally glides…face projections and evoking refinement…almost fluid and you see her performance down to the tension of her fingers ….she delivers haute couture glamour…most notably in her period with Monsieur Christian Lacroix….where she mostly carries the big big opera coats and dresses..alone (change music, change mood, pure haute couture vibe and Anna Bayle stride)
Along with Galliano, plz
You got my vote on that. They walk like something out of Beatle Juice.😜😜😜😜😜
2:50 & wow trolls & haters even existed back than lol 😅🤣🤣
@@beautifullovechannel• It takes one to know one…🤣
I love the down to earth dressmaker, a woman who is of the earth.
she lives in reality.
There's something about these ladies of the 50's that is so eloquent and mesmerizing. They can speak as slowly and languidly as they want and you just listen
That is not 50's. That is 2023. Those 50's years ladies would never use that dress so provocative. I loved this new dress.
But the "ladies of the 50's" in this film were a small representation of the people of the world the models were all one color. Is that a true representation of the "ladies of the 50's"??
I prefer the princess glam of the 50's. Color and lots of fabric.
Great past. Tacky present.
In the 50th, 60th model used to walk beautifully "the walk" ...now they walk like a herd of "something " !
At least they were elegant and could walk in high heels .
I hate the way the current models ‘stomp’ along the cat walk. No elegance, no allure
They also look rather sad and annoyed
I agree. It’s as though they are cattle stomping behind one another. Float. Float and be feminine. That’s Dior. Stop putting them in 8 inch heels and they won’t sound like cows.
@@michele-su6zy not surprising given how weird/ugly 'modern fashion' is.
Narrated by no other than Olivia Colman... EXCELLENT!
Love her, but she should learn to pronounce Christian. It’s NOT Christien!
I knew it! Recognized her beautiful voice and upper class accent immediately.

An imbecile butchering French names🤮
HUBERT DE GIVENCHY IS THE REAL KING OF CLASSY HAUTE COUTURE. FULL STOP. SEE HIS AUDREY HEPBURN CREATION IN BREAKFAST AT TIFFANYS. MESMERISING. SIMPLE BUT ELEGANT.
And now Dior has come down to earth... From luxury haute couture to Wal-Mart style of haute couture design, congratulations!
charlene's dress is ghastly!!!!
It's beyond ghastly! It's ridiculous or just weird and depressing. It's too drab on her she appears to be somber 😔. Take it off! Throw it away and choose something more feminine!
Really, I think it is lovely. But that is art, some love it, some do not.
Charlize's? Yes, ridiculous. Like a bib. Never seemed to sit properly.
I agree. It was just weird.
Who’s is Charlene’s? 😅
I love the elegance of the early models. They had a smile that showed they enjoyed the beautiful clothes. Today the ladies literally frown and stomp down the catwalk. Some of the clothes they have to wear now must be the reason.
"Fashion" and "Style" are not always the same thing. Fashion cpmes and goes. Style is forever.
14:00 They should put more quality shows like this on TH-cam
Dior is what the universe gives us when it is showing off...
Charlene wearing a high level couture that exudes elegance and then she opens her mouth😮
Great so elegance and delycate thank you
It’s just like Gisele - beautiful, but then she opens her mouth …a potty mouth and cusses like a sailor! Such a shame
Flo and the rest of the ladies are saints- that’s talent! ❤
Haha, yes! That American accent alone...UGH! Oh, and I think you meant to say “Charlize”, not “Charlene”.
😂😂
WHAT is with Ms. Menkes hair?! If she is trying to make a statement, she failed. It looks like she left a roller in or forgot to brush part of it out.
I thought the same thing but thought I was probably just a midwestern oaf that didn't get it
She has been sporting that style ever since I can remember...that curl on her head looks awful...what her mind set is I can only speculate on...😝
That's the point. She's eccentric.
@@absolutetruthgirlEccentric: That’s how we described my aunt with dementia.
That, my dear, is called style.
Dior needs to go back to elegance and beauty
What a lot of monsters can be seen amongst the rich customers of haute couture
This lady from Texas 🧐
Yup...soon they won't be able to walk down the streets
I love Christian Dior. His estate is very attractive.
Oh dear, that little one experiencing her first casting and show is only a baby. She's so nervous! You're doing beautifully - go out there and wow them!
Waaaay tooo young to be in that environment.
And she’s already doing blow
Not sure they're supposed to 'wow 'anyone now. Seems they're just supposed to look miserable.
@@newgabe09 miserable and hungry is the aesthetic.
All these exquisite and timeless ensembles are now museum objects. They can't be worn but you can study its technicalities.
The elegance of not only the fashion house and models but women in general are missing from society today and it's a sham.
Behind the scenes personalities are quite fascinating - talented n down to earth - a breath of fresh air! Indeed a whole different world than the shows, models, clients etc.
Good heavens, when did fashion turn into what one finds at Goodwill or the Salvation Army second hand store? Gone are the days of style and elegance it seems.
Leggings, skinny jeans, dresses with holes cut out, tacky. I'd get wrong to say bring back elegant feminine clothes. People walked, stood and sat in an elegant way back then.
I do agree with you that it is sometimes an eyesore to watch, however, it is also the way fashion evolves... before we had periods of decades if not hundreds of years before change came, now it is at least two fashion shows a year and you have to come up with something "new and eye catching" to present... it is surely a hard creative thing to do
@@pavelmacek282 An eye sore is also eye catching
@@pavelmacek282 fashion actually changed more rapidly than you think. Especially in the last three hundred years. One need only look at the style of dresses for ladies to see how dramatically things changed. It is today that one would be hard pressed to distinguish one era from another. I believe this happened in the last 25-30 years. Fashion has devolved and fashion shows seem more like costumes not meant to flatter anyone, but merely get attention even horrify.
@@cjpowers9330 sorry but for me eyesore and eye catching are antonyms... and sure you will look at something hideous but for all the wrong reasons
Olivia Colman seems very down-to-earth, couldn't hear her without thinking she might've had a bit of a laugh in her head narrating the ridiculousness of it all
The guy cleaning the pool looks more interesring ❤
How depressing to see the descent of beauty and elegance so starkly in evidence in this documentary. Everything has become ugly and awkward. Dior would be horrified.
Like the redone Tiffany flagship store in New York compared to
the original...horrific.
Ugly make-up at the Blenheim show. 😳Makes pretty women look monstrous.
You’re so right, depressing and so are their expressions and the clothes.
Yes, I found the last show here exactly that; kind of ugly, awkward & boring!
@@ohlottie ya it's like they're dressing transrobots.
The vintage models had class glamour elegance and style as they glided down the catwalk
Todays models clomping down the catwalk wearing ridiculous sometimes ugly fashions of today
I prefer the beauty of the vintage fashion shows hands down
my first designer (from charity shop) shirt 45 years ago was a CD - never forget it
"haute couture is a dream...it has to stay a dream" YESSS!!!!! some things shouldn't be accessible to EVERYBADY
but these new designers a TERRRRRRRIBLE.
Yes they are a nightmare.
Horrible clothes on miserable models. Think I'll keep my wallet in my bag.
Dior was just spectacular in its day design and models. Now it is ridiculous the models are ill looking even ugly and can no longer walk or model. Dior must be turning in his grave looking at the shambles turned out now.
Agreed. I don't like the modern version of modeling.
billion dollar shambles!
I agree with you it’s horrible how models walking. Without elegance , emotion. Without style they are talking about style which died with maestro Dior
That one client had so much work done on her face she looks like Alien :( But the clothes were beautiful.
I love the brand because fo it's elegance and the jewelry too I watch the shows because it makes me feel happy and appreciative but I can't afford to have them as I am not rich .😊but an rich in heart ❤❤❤.
Ooooooo ! This is the eyeshadow that I used to wear in the 70s ! ❤ it !
They all look like Halloween costumes !
Yes they are looking more and more like the Adams Family vs. Frankenstein! To make matters worse these dresses are costly!! These dresses unfortunately aren't even practical to wear!
And that's why there's always Old Navy and Walmart for people who don't care about, or understand fashion.
@@CALLMESIR... Hmmm. Come to think about it they probably did go to Old Navy or Walmart!! And Haute Couture is usually weird and not worth the high expense either!!
This is MARVELOUS. Many thanks for making it available.
Thank you for posting this entertaining interesting video.
I love Dior. Lovely art. What an
empire.
Whatever happened to the elegant and glamorous models and the equally elegant clothes of yesteryear? 😢
Good question. Some of these models are rather homely, and they are coached not to smile, which makes them all the MORE homly. Some of them look downright mean and/ or angry. In the 50' they smiled naturally, as it should be. It's a real turn off to have to look at a Holly angry looking model these days.😗😝😝 What the hell are they thinking??? And they walk unnaturally bad. Don't think Dior would have approved. I know I don't.😖😖😖😖 😒😒and then some. Also, fur is inappropriate. Animals deserve better treatment than that.
I am so with you! Elegant manners and etiquette in general ❤❤😢
Just because you live in the past and probably never bought any couture doesn’t mean everyone else has to. And you probably didn’t even watch the documentary. When Dior first launched his line the modles were attacked in the streets. So there were always old, conservative bores.
@@jcmunich1blah blah blah
Nowadays designers dresses are not in the momento. They display their madness into their dresses which cant be worn and to tacky . Dior couture is way past gone now cause of the designers
I can't believe that world's most wanted model from Australia. I see no beauty in her.
Freak show - today models
Because they have fallen...gross is their beautiful... Not that the girl is gross..
Charlize is from South Africa
Did I hear at 13:13 the young Danish model say she is fifteen years old ????
Yep underaged girls are skinnier and sometimes to keep the weight constant drugs are introduced earlier on
The banquet hall is much better then the British hall we see .Door has great style not only in clothes but in everything .
Considering I’m not into fashion in the slightest, this was so flipping interesting!
Mrs Harris goes to Paris 😊
That Dior dress on Charlize Theron makes her look like she’s impersonating an oyster mushroom. They don’t always get it right
Agreed, the look for made her makeup and hair is also dull and uninspired.
It looked great from a distance, but not so up close, funnily enough...
@@keenoled well ,yet it will never be a design as such but a provocation instead ,

The opera at Versailles was built beginning 1763 Louis the XIV died in 1705, so he never had a chance to dance on the stage as was stated in the documentary.
Correct, The OPERA at Versailles was built by Louis XV for the marriage of his son, the Dauphin,Louis Ferdinand.
The architect was the awesome Ange-Jaques Gabriel, and the hall is both visually and acoustically perfect.
Charlize Theron is missing something. Her dress looks very similar to a tropical giant clam shell. She really should be wearing an oversized-pearl necklace with this dress. Or, any pearls at all would be fine, as long as it looks like pearls, and looks tropical.
Great and really beautiful style nice
She needs to give up her spot for a black trans women ! 😊
John Galliano was the best thing that ever happened to the House of Dior.
I loved & still love elegant simplicity! Dior was know for that acetic. Designing trendy cloths just to fit into a modern, takes the elegance factor out it! They should do what they have always done best, there is a larger market there, more than trendy!, Give us back your true art!,
I. Miss. Very. Much. The femininity
And. Extreme. Elegance of. The

These days Dior Men outshines the women’s brand. Impeccable perfect menswear ❤
Somebody, please give Suzy a make-over. Just her hair alone.
That was amazing! The clothes are beautiful and the fabrics and construction top notch!
Naahhh very basic.
The Dior of the 80's to mid -2k era produces the most fab designs that lingers in the peoples minds.
The ones on this video are very basic.
The two top notch(?) models are flawed! Hadeed and the Australian whose more of an ex-,rehab patient that a model, are tod boring and unglamorous.
I love Diorissimo cologne.
Me too.
Absolutely Beautiful designs😍
This ad is great - so chic and dynamic, modern, young, creative 👍👍👍👍
We are all so proud of Charlize Theron here in South africa❤😊
This collection was stunning. Just gorgeous, I love the jewelry.
Most of it you can actually wear in public 😮
Please some one make model walk them how it should be. Not like cows in field..

Who in the world would be comfortable wearing this stuff ?? To me fashion is something you wear to a wonderful party something you can sit down in bend over in and be comfortable doing it DANCING AND HAVING FUN 😊
After WW2 Dior made a trip to Australia. There he found on rationing and some prosperity. His fashions were showcased on TV and he made many sales. This he plowed back into his fashion house. Some say Australia made the House of Dior.
Absolutamente fabuloso!! ❤❤❤❤

Never have the collective work so hard to create such beauty. ❤
BRAVO !
Sur les anciennes images de paris il y avait des arbres…!!!
With what is ‘ made ‘ today, I feel sure Dior would turn in his grave- Dior was about beauty, style and above all ELlEGANCE - When you walked in a room ,every mans eye was on you ,if wanted you, and every woman envied you. Dior is dead-
You’re so right!❤️🤗
Definitely!
And the clients didn’t have frozen plastic faces. It’s a freak show now.
This collection was not elegant or sophisticated.
Um, yes….he actually is. You said so yourself….🤔🤔🤔
Thank you Dior for standing with Johnny
The modèles are ridiculous nowadays, they force them to walk and behave likes robots what a despise for women, and fashion victimes have not enough self estime to say no. What a shame. Only couturières should be proud of their fabulous work.
I agree…15 year old girls don’t represent women. What’s with the walk… They walk like Neanderthals in the flat shoes in the last show…where’s the classic stilletto?
Just as an aside: the table setting shown at 03:40 features "Harcourt" stemware, by Baccarat. Note the horizontal "plumb-line" to position the chairbacks in a perfect line. God is in the details.

The editor of vogue-her hair stylist secretly bears her a grudge🤣
From Dr. Seuss catalog
Suzy's hair is quite a statement...don't understand it.
Nor do I. It looks like she forgot to take out a roller.

She ‘rats” it.
In prior decades designers went out of their to make the clothes look absolutely fabulous that seems to be lost today for the most part maybe it's a sign of the times sad
Current Dior models are children? So the adolescent female body is the beauty standard for this brand? Gross.
Nice and beautiful

Eeeek, the models are scarey 😮
The models aren't really beautiful anymore attractive all look alike
the models are not pretty and too skinny

Many things go into a concept. It depends on who they expect to be buying and the season. Even your high end clients now dress more cacasual yet still want the brand name. It's smart to create lines to casual wear to glam. Also cost is less on the fashion house to design items with materials that are not as expensive. Smart. This is why these businesses have been around for years. Someone must be loveing this fashion house..Christian Dior is after all one of the best fashions to wear. No shade to any of the other major fashion houses as they all are fabulous.
