All referees should have fighting experience enough to defend themselves like in number 3 the ref just gets sucker punched for no reason and he just backs off cuz he doesn’t know what to do. If you can’t control the fighters you’ve no business being a referee that’s your whole job

If you come at the ref, they've just seen how YOU fight, and they've also seen how a lot of other people fight. They know what's coming and could probably lay you out if given the chance.

It's very important for the ref to their job, that being said you hit a ref you should be banned for life

It's generally a pretty safe assumption at least one of the referees at a venue on a given night is more than capable of beating the brakes off the fighters there.
#8 the ref was HoF Joe Cortez and the boxer was HoF Pernell Whitaker during the Whitaker v Chavez fight.
That ref from number 8 didnt want none of Pernell Whitaker.

Ref's usually can hold their own. These fighters whom hit the refs intentionally should never be allowed in a ring again. I don't think the guy who put the rear naked choke hold knew what he was doing. I think that was just instincts and he thought it was his opponent. I could be wrong though.
