Hearing you giving a bit of commentary from the restaurant, rather than the usual voiceovers, was a really nice touch. I'd like to see more of that going forward in your videos-- that candid, unscripted commentary. It felt really enlightening!
It was a nice touch, as long as it is not overdone. There are also other people spending a lot of money. Personally I would not enjoy it if someone in the restaurant is having a whole TH-cam commentary during that experience
As a TV producer for 20+ years and with a Michelin chef in my family, you keep impress me with top notch quality content, not least visually. This episode excelled for one particular reason - it included your spontaneous reactions and comments! More of this, and you will reach even greater heights!
What I really like about this channel is that its not just a bunch of pretentious nonsense but actually explaines very well why these restaurants are special and what exactly you are paying for as a customer.
One of my absolute favorite restaurants in the world. Have been going to Uliassi since it was a beach side shack and it's so great to see it's success!
what i enjoy most about this channel is that it's never sycophantically fawning over everything and everyone. pairing this is fair, respectful criticism of elements, with specificity, yet without being nasty or snarky.
@@Squadron_Bodron you clearly are two standard deviations to the left of the mean. there's nothing anti about my comment or the other persons. nor is there any hate
My twin brother died recently. His goal was to have a life like this wonderful gentleman has. Someday, somehow I will go to a place like this and drink a toast to him.
Lovely sentiment, I did something similar for my mum a few years back. Check for set lunch menus, a lot of restaurants offer the same food (albeit a shorter menu) at more affordable prices - it's a more gentle way to ease into fine dining.
I know you will do this both for him and you. He is part of you, heart, mind, and genetics. He will be there with you. May you live a beautiful life for the both of you.
My condolences. 💐I can’t begin to imagine how sad you must be. Hopefully you’ll have opportunity to raise a fancy glass to your brother in the near future. He will be with you (maybe you can ask to keep the glass for future toasts. I use one of my dad’s plates when I want to feel close)
I feel like you spent a little extra time explaining the food and ingredients in this video and I loved it. I love hearing the reasoning behind the dishes
My favorite food channel, hands down. The food and wine are the stars; but the personal stories, awe-inspiring visuals, and Alexander's rich narrative raise this to an entirely higher level than any other TH-cam channel (or, for that matter, streaming channel) I've seen. The wine pairings raise the bar even further; even if you're not a wine enthusiast, it's a joy to hear how the wine/food matches play out. I also appreciate that, even at restaurants that delight beyond anyone's wildest dreams, he'll occasionally call out a dish or a wine that doesn't quite live up to the Michelin billing. That alone provides another level of credibility to the channel. Thanks Alexander the Guest - for everything you bring to this channel.
I absolutely love the production quality of your restaurant reviews! The cinematography, editing, and attention to detail are top-notch. It really enhances the overall experience of watching your videos. Keep up the great work!
Loved seeing you more relaxed and spontaneous in your reactions to each dish - its a nice change of pace from the usual format and keeps things interesting as your channel and content progresses. Happy subscriber here! 🙌🏼
Such a lovely restaurant. While it was warm since it lacked air conditioning, I think the open windows and ceiling fans connect it to the beach outdoors that help make this atmosphere very special. It’s a delight! The food was exquisite (sweetbreads :)) , the wines all lovely. What a magnificently relaxing and memorable afternoon.
4:56 love this moment...surprise moment and commentary...like hearing a live unplugged version of a song and its gone. this was a wonderful restaurant and video. love the location of the wines you both enjoyed
Love the beauty of these localities and the styles of the restaurant. Not sure about snails and don't like "foam" on my food. Despite this, some of the dishes look absolutely stunning and delicious and the information on various wines is so interesting xx
Thank you, Alexander ! This is paradise. Michelin 3 star food and wine, an authentic family-owned business, and a view of the sea which would make Neptune put down his trident and chill out with a glass of Villa Bucci reserva. By the way, I hear there's a Michelin-starred restaurant in Death Valley. 50 degrees and no air conditioning. Leave the suit at home. Ha ha ! All the best !
Some things might seem missing in this restaurant but they are mentioned in the M guide as having a focus on the environment and the impact the restaurant has overall .
Alexander the Guest is only 1 of 4 channels I subscribe to with the "bell" turned on. No matter when or where. I will immediately watch his beautiful and informative videos.
Alexander, I'm a new subscriber and have been binging your channel. The production is amazing and elegant. A potential content idea, I love the way you talk about wine and how it pairs with the food. I would love to watch you taste some wine (perhaps some that are more reasonable for the average viewer like myself) and talk about what you like about them and foods you would enjoy with said wine. Love the channel, keep up the great work my friend.
Really enjoying this channel, so exciting to see inside these places! I'm visiting Moor Hall in Lancashire in a few weeks. Never eaten at a 2 Michelin star restaurant before so very excited. Would love to see a review on here!
Great time to subscribe guys, you know Alexander's giveaways are insane. 🤩 As for this restaurant, just wow. Looks like the perfect beach house. Dishes looks awesome too.
i love this channel! i´ve never been particulary interested in fine dining cuisine but you really make it exiting to watch! thanks for all your effort.
I appreciate you sharing how to approach and eat many of these dishes. While there may be no correct way, it’s helpful to see someone with lots of experience cut, scoop and prepare the food for eating. Underrated aspect of your videos.
A beach location couldn’t be improved…high end dining is an art form..you are able to critique without being too over the top…always look forward to the next experience of dining with you…. 🍽️
The wine pairing seems just as interesting as the food, the pepper/vanilla course seemed very lost in not only the order of the menu but in the menu itself but really like he restaurant ( definitely need the a/c)
This looks impressive. Food done well, with interesting dimensions but without artifice. It seems that too many *** Michelin restaurants feel compelled to add unneeded and frankly distracting complexity and preciousness to their dishes. This one did not. Bravo. Advice: put Dal Pescatore (the Santini’s) on you list. Hands down my favorite in Italy.
Just go now as soon as you have some money. Do the first without the expensive wines and get it rolling. Once you like it you will find ways to go more and more.
I have been watching Alexander’s videos for over a year now, and only realised I wasn’t subscribed a few weeks ago. Make sure to double check if you are too, let’s lift the channel to 500k quickly 📈🍾
I’ve been to dish restaurant a couple of years ago when they got their 3 ⭐️, it didn’t impress me as much. Didn’t give me the 3 ⭐️ vibe and the food was ok. I preferred more the other 2 ⭐️ in the same city

"I would come back here tomorrow." Hugest compliment Alex can give.
I understand wanting suit and tie on servers....but the casual ensemble with that beach setting really is the better match!
I feel like you spent a little extra time explaining the food and ingredients in this video and I loved it. I love hearing the reasoning behind the dishes
Your positivity and kindness effervesces, you root for the restaurants, but honestly assess, with grace. Fantastic food and travel resource.
