  • This is a video on how to make stabilized whipped cream frosting with gelatin. Do you have problems where your whipped cream almost melts after just a few minutes? You can just stabilize it. Let me show you how. This is a great whipped cream icing recipe for frosting cakes or pipping decorations as well.. I will also in this video show how to load a piping bag.

      Definitely. I personally always stabilize it. It always turns into soup on me if i don’t

    Thank you. I wasted 3 batches of cream trying to follow a written recipe of the internet using leaf gelatin, I then came looking on TH-cam and found your recipe and it worked perfectly first time. Cheers. I made it for a meringue replacement on an orange meringue pie but orange stabilised cream pie doesn't quite have the same ring to it but does taste good.

      thank you for checking it out. i'm so glad it worked better for you! I think that sound delicious! I love orange!

      I had so many hurtful disappointments with leaf gelatin... Better powdered gelatin like in this video.

      @@thespecialant8092 Excellent timing, I forgot to save this video and was going to have to go trawling for it today, your timely reply has saved me the tediousness of looking. Thankfully my want for cream cake is stronger than my apathy. I'm just not sure if stabilised cream is suitable for Black Forest Gateau.

      @@thespecialant8092 I always use the powder personally. The only thing that can be frustrating is that it can have clumps sometimes. I find that putting it in little by little and stirring helps. And if you get a clump or 2, you can just take those out before you add the hot water to dissolve it.

    Do you wait for the gelatine to cool down after adding the hot water before pouring into the whipped cream? Thanks.

    • @ClumsyCakes
      @ClumsyCakes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but it should cool down very fast because I bloom the gelatin with cold water so you are essentially adding hot water to cold water.

  • @putriseptysha9622

    Can i use gelatine in powdered whip cream?

    • @ClumsyCakes
      @ClumsyCakes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of brands come with a stabilizer already in there so it wouldn’t be needed but just check the ingredients and if it doesn’t say “permitted stabilizer”, or geliton or agar agar or something like that than I would say go ahead and try it. Just whip up your whipped cream and pour the dissolved geliton in as shown in the video.

    Pls help!! I think I added too much gelatin and now the cream is super crumbly and water is separating from it

  • @labrigful
    @labrigful ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The oils on the mixing bowl is a myth. You are free to add any fat to your whipped cream. Whipping cream is milk fat. You may even add cream cheese or butter

    • @labrigful
      @labrigful ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Egg whites on the other hand, keep the oil away!

    Ur heavy cream is referring to whipping cream? In my country whipping cream is 35.1% of fat and topping cream is around 26%

    • @ClumsyCakes
      @ClumsyCakes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it is referred to as different things in different countries. Here you will see it referred to as both. I always say heavy cream personally.

    I want to make a 'stand up on it's own' Tiramisu type cake, instead of in a dish . Will this stabilised cream 'stay put' for that ? I want to be able to serve sliced ,instead of spoon served. 🤔
