G’day George. Just came across your channel. I like this video. I would like to retire in Thailand. Could you cover a video on things to do there as a retiree. I am 54 and still very active. Would there still be all the western goods and services there ?
I have my A/C on at night here in UK in the Summer and it costs me THB4k a month... but no rent.. 4-5m a yr out there is enough for me.. but very handy to know the info.. only comment I would say is maybe add a tally at the side or a running total would be good.. otherwise great vid! thanks for sharing.
The more I look at it the more the 65k a month the Thai govt recommends seems right. Most 'budgets' don't include little emergencies like a motorcycle crash, a new computer and phone every few years or even replacing a Honda PCX every 4 years due to mileage. Dental work, your house getting broken into, the list goes on. 50k plus all these little things I figure so 65k. If you retire there aren't you going to get a modern tv and a proper bed and sofa or live the rest of your life with the crappy stuff the landlord supplies? Seriously, how much of a downgrade are you willing to put up with?
That not much for a condo a month Hua Hin you going to struggle could be done but probably not very nice pad mate better In JOMTIEN or dark side maybe 👍
Expensive for condo. I pay 7500 in Jomtien at a really good complex and great location.
Including 10k rent I spend about 5000k a week give or take in chiang Mai. But no freelancers or bar girls.
Bare minimum and unrealistic. Obv you've given up on everything including life.
Your numbers are confusing...like when you talk about food being 10k-15k, is that for YOUR family? Or is that for a single person?
Cheers George. Another informative video. Who do you get your health care thru?
I have a private one through my wife

Yeh 65000 is a nice budget can be done on less but as you say all the things that crop up every month extra little things always pushed the budget up
Live like a Thai and you should be living on 12,000 THB a month, that everage monthly income in Thailand
How easy to get to Pattaya? Is a private house better than condo?
Drive to Pattaya about 4 hour 30 mins from Hua Hin. I prefer a private house but everyone is different👍🇹🇭
Is it easy to find reliable people to watch your dogs when you travel?
Not really you would have to build up friendships over here takes time👍
@@georgenewmaninthailand2495 Good to know, Two standard poodles are family and that is what keeps me in the states for now.
Hua hin seems more expensive than Pattaya, I’m looking for 5b-6k monthly condo
