Why is Jellyfish Lake Running Out of Jellyfish?

Palau is home to Jellyfish Lake. Situated on Eil Malk island within the Rock islands, Jellyfish Lake is unsurprisingly full of jellyfish. However changing environmental conditions and a recent El Niño is changing things up.

Just a small point: The local state government who control the lake, refused to close it and got into a heated argument with traditional leaders and the National Government (who wanted to close it so that it would recover) The fact that the worlds media are saying that it has just reopened is actually false as it was never officially closed. They blamed El Nino entirely but it seems that the huge amounts of sunscreen worn by tourists as well as invasive species bought in by tourists had a detrimental effect on the Jellies and their reproductive cycle. The nail in the coffin was the lack of rain fall due to El Nino.
