The bipolar diagnosis was a misdiagnosis. She was later diagnosed with PTSD and taken off meds. She returned to performing in all of the prestigious venues she was used to and continued great success, and got herself back on her feet. She retired from singing several years ago, but is still active behind the scenes of the industry. One of the greats!

I listened to Connie Francis when I was very young. I wanted to sing like her and I tried to imitate her voice. I loved her singing. Later on it made me sad to hear of her many troubles. I just recalled the days when I used to sing like her and listen to her great recordings.

@@barich3353 Yes, she certainly is still alive, although, I wouldn't say she's 'Well' in many senses of the word. Who could blame her, she suffered (probably) the most vicious attack any man could afflict on a woman! I've often wondered why, given the massive advances made in criminology, her assailant still hasn't been found? I'm still given to understand that there still exists possible sources of DNA? Much older 'Cold Case Files' have been brought to a conclusion when re-visiting a cold case!

@@del_boy_trotter But she has been doing very well for YEARS, has a good life and a lot of friends. I know because one of my friends is her friend and she just spent the day with her about a month ago. Sure, she gets the aches and pains like we all do, but she's in her mid 80's now.
