    Do own this lens? What is your opinion about it?

      I do. I bought it 3 years ago, and had it for 2 months. It collected moisture, and everything went fogy inside. I left the lens in a drawer since. I found it again 2 days ago, and I thaught, I want to see if this lens works. And it worked amazingly good! Clean as new. I am so pissed that I didn't wait few weeks then for it naturaly to get unfoged from moist. My daughter is 4 now, and my son 6 months, and I could have mutch better photos of them than the ones from my smartphone. But anyway, I am glad that it works, and now I will take care more of it. (PS, do not think a tiny bits of rain is to little)

    This lens is way better than I thought it was going to be. I picked one up very cheaply thinking it wouldn't be much good but I'm actually blown away by how good it is! Buy it!

    Lovely review, please What nd filter can I use for this lens?

    • @apertureatlas
      @apertureatlas  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't use filters that much and definitely didn't buy one for this Panasonic lens. I see that it takes a 46mm filter. My suggestion is to avoid the cheapest ones and get one from a well-known brand with good reviews. You can find alternatives and reviews with a Google search, so please check there, as I am not savvy when it comes to ND filters.

    I own a s5iiX. I need a normal/wide lens for everyday content close up to the subject. I saw the lumix G line 25mm is the cheapest ever $145 and in a full frame is equivalent of 50mm. Should I take it? Whats the difference with the S 50mm? thanks whoever answer

    • @apertureatlas
      @apertureatlas  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi! The lens that you see in this video was designed to work on Micro Four Thirds sensor cameras. You have a Full Frame camera - G line lenses will not work on it, they won't even mount/fit. You need L mount lenses for the s5iiX, which is, btw, a great camera. Enjoy it!

      Thanks, Tony! I started photography on a MFT camera. Nostalgia hit and I decided to buy one now. It makes a good team with my APS-C cameras.

    Does this lens give a good portrait photo?

    • @apertureatlas
      @apertureatlas  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, it is good for portraits. Thanks to the f/1.7 aperture, it will create a blurry background. On top of that, the focal length, 25mm (that gives the 50mm Full Frame equivalent) is well suited for portraits.

    What is the best way if this lens works correctly and there is no issues? I bought it on amazon. I guess there is no such thing as zoom in this? Sorry, I know nothing about lenses..

    • @apertureatlas
      @apertureatlas  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! The Panasonic 25mm f/1.7 is not a zoom lens - it is a Prime Lens or a Fixed Focal Length Lens. A lens such as this one lets in a lot of light (thanks to that f/1.7 aperture) - you don't see this on zoom lenses. The 25mm f/1.7 will be great in low light situations (if you use that f/1.7) , it will also be great for portraits (giving a nicely blurred background, again, at wide apertures f/1.7, f/1.8, f/2). It is ok if you don't have knowledge about lenses, I was there too. In conclusion: don't underestimate your lens if it doesn't zoom - there are prime lenses and there are zoom lenses. Almost every time I would prefer a prime lens thanks to its wide aperture and better image quality. If you're new to photography, I made this video, 2 years ago, that explains the camera's settings. th-cam.com/video/Ulj6a9vvALw/w-d-xo.html Hope it helps!

      @@apertureatlasPrime lenses are a great way to learn photography…
      However, Lumix G Leica DG Vario-Summilux 10-25mm f1.7 and it’s complement the 25-50mm f1.7 are two very unusual zooms, and the first of their kind…
      😏

    • @apertureatlas
      @apertureatlas  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Superz3ro Yes, these two options are also excellent for learning photography. They provide unique zoom capabilities, which can be quite fascinating for both experienced photographers and beginners. However, for beginners, I would suggest sticking with lenses that are readily available and more budget-friendly. In any case, if someone has one of those two special zoom lenses on hand, my recommendation is definitely to use it.

    It's a good lens and even though it's not as cheap as a canon lens the cameras it works with are better than canon in this price range, but for me the biggest con is that it's a 25mm Prime Lens, meaning it does not have any zoom and is really only good for capturing things at a focal length that approximates the human eye.

    Can this lens work with my lumix S5iix?

    • @apertureatlas
      @apertureatlas  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Unfortunately not, it is a lens for Micro Four Thirds sensor cameras. The S5IIX is a Full Frame camera and works with L Mount lenses.
