Love every project! As always ;) For the painted canvas, it would be more convenient to start from the upper "waves" and then going down, less stress and even crispier finish because you have to pay attention to just one edge at a time. Just let the colour to dry a little bit before painting the next wave and overlap the next colour a little bit! Anyways, you're amazing! xoxo
I was gonna say this! I’m a painter myself and I work mostly with acrylic and watercolor, not super forgiving when you try to put lighter colors on top of dark! Also guys I hope you have fun creating this yourself instead of going and buying the print since it’s a bit of a gray area for art theft :/ anyway 🤪❤️🥰
The painting is so beautiful! I've recently been feeling a lot of orangey/brown tones that remind me a lot of the palette used in decor during the 1970s and the colours in the painting remind me of that. All of the DIYs looked so good, I loved the use of the embroidery hoops for the shelf, you could use the same idea to create pots for plants or baskets, such a great multi-application DIY. Just want to also say how much your videos cheer me up, I may have said it a hundred times already but you really do bring sunshine into a lot of people's lives. You rock! Ps:the light in your apartment is so glowy and gorgeous! It has such a positive vibe and tone, too. Can't wait to see how you make over the space!
Hey Andrew, and any other DIYer out there: when glueing and staining wood, stain first, THEN glue. Because if the glue bleeds into the part that's going to be stained, even if you clean it, the stain won't stay on that part.
Also for the love of Katya, buy some wood glue! Wood glue create ridiculously strong bonds between pieces of wood. Like the wood is more likely to break then the joint where the glue is because of how ridiculously strong wood glue is.
I can't pick a favorite, I love them all, but that shelf, that is such an amazing idea! The painting was stunning and the fluffy wall hanging...sigh. I hope you're enjoying your first days in you beautiful new home. Love you Drew! 💕
Hi Drew, what a wonderful video to watch on my Mother's Day chill day! I loved that you did some DIY's it was so much fun, I love the cute circle wall shelf, and the wall hanging, loved the mixture of metal and fiber and those beads are always so fun, one thing when putting thick yarn through a bead you can use tape on the end of the yarn, wrap it around and it makes the yarn end a nice little tube, then feed it through the bead. For the sunset painting, if you start with the lighter colours you don't have to make the bottom edge perfect - you can just draw over with the darker colour and it will cover it up! That's what I did for my mountain wall :)
These came out so cute! One thought on your vase; if you attached like a button or something that looked like a decorative nail it would hide your seams nicely, and then staggering them would look neat.

If you use water to water down your acrylics you can run the risk of the paint being easy to scratch. These turned out really nice and I am happy that you showed that everyone can paint!!! I get so sad when some feels that they cant do it, but starting with something simple like your project is a great way for people to build confidence.

Nice Canvas Art Drew!! Cute for beginners :) to Make a perfect round sun you can draw it on a thick paper n cut it out. Make a stencil out of it n then keep it on d canvas n paint d sun slowly.... Loved the round wall shelf...... Lots of love.....
OMG love the round shelf DIY!!! I am going to make this. Also QUICK TIP - for the canvas painting, if you start with the top layers in light colors, you can use a larger brush to paint faster and then paint each new layer on top over lapping a little going down with the darker colors one after another. ❤️

A tip to put beads on thick yarn: fold a piece of wire in half, twist it together but leave about an inch wide gap open. Push the end of the yarn through the gap in the wire and feed it through the bead 😉 (But sometimes it doesn't work because the yarn is doubled in the process and if the hole is too small it won't be able to fit through 🙈)

For the painting you can also star the other way around, first paint the highest mountain and go down, that way you make sure the lines are very crisp and you don't have to keep your hand in the air while painting, so your pulse is a bit more steady.

Just a thought another way to get those crisp lines on the retro painting is cutting out how you want it on paper tape. Use an x-acto knife or scissors. Made my lines look amazing. BTW love this video helped decor my room!

Adding a little water to your brush with acrylic paint will make the paint smoother and easier to work with 🙂
