Drew! I have a tip: when you’re doing tedious wrapping with the macrame cord like on the basket light in this video, try wrapping the excess cord into a little oval (like you would wrap up headphone cords) so you don’t have to pull the whole long thread all the way through the hole every single time. It’s a time saver :)
You can get the same pottery effect by adding baking soda to any other earth-tone paints! Looks fabulous with nudes, warm oranges and pinks, and it's a great option if you already own paint.
It seems like you are growing more comfortable with yourself and work. The way you speak and carry yourself in this video is so much more natural than previous ones! This video is a BANGER.
My mind is blown! I use color of terracotta all through my home, so this paint is such a find for me. Just like finding the Gorilla glue sticks from watching your channel!😱❤
People who truly have a passion for design can find beauty in everything! I'm so happy I started following you! You motivate me to work towards my design goals! Love itt thank uuuuu
Your imagination is endless -- thank you for sharing your ideas with us. I recently found the chain on clearance for $10 that was chipped so repainted and is now displayed. With the Rustoelum and Krylon spray paints, I learned that spraying downward lessens the effect of the metallic paints. Now I paint holding the can upright as much as possible.
I’m absolutely obsessed with the pendant light, it looks so chic and expensive, not at all like a plastic laundry basket! My only concern is, will the plastic start melting over time because of the heat generated by the light bulb?
Nearly all plastics on the market are PET (aka polyester); they're molded into that basket shape using heat and also recycled using heat, so not only are they designed to hold up to pretty hot stuff regularly to avoid that melty process (polyesters hold up excellently in dryers and dishwashers, etc).. if they do actually melt, they're safe and designed exactly to do so. Unless the light is actually touching the plastic, I highly doubt it would melt it.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these projects! Easy. No major skilled needed. I can see the light fixture in unlimited variations. The terracotta is FABULOUS! And the dog toy transformation is simply genious! Great creativity! 👍👍👍
I’m amazed by these projects with items from the dollar store. I can’t beleive how you transformed the basket. Now I want to decorate a basket like that even without using it as a pendant light 😍
Hi LF love your show just wanted to share my fave tip when recycling candles, I usually didn’t burn them because I didn’t like the scent, sooo , what I do it I add some of my fave oil, lavender, cedar wood, whatever. It totally kills the old scent! Hope you like it❤️ Branwen from Vancouver
I saw someone make a similar pendant light out of a metal garden basket type thing but without the wrap. I think using that and adding your macrame wrap would be so good! That terracotta spray completely changed those vases for the better as well. Thanks so much for the video!
OKAY I SEE YOU with the bright ideas! These were all so good babes! Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could mass produce your creations? That would be a dream come true ✨
These were such fun projects. Looked like what you had were possibly garden snips, used to cut small branches or thick stems. I like to use a pair of tin snips made to cut thin gauge metal like galvanized tin. You could have fun with those altering some dollar store tin items. That basket lamp was fabulous!
Very nice! A light that size is about $300 at places like PB, Anthro, UO, etc. I’m loving everything you’re doing in your new space. I’m really excited to see what you do to your and your roommate’s bedrooms!
THIS GUY IS A GENIUS!! Omg he is so creative and all of his diys never fail to impress me!!!!! He made a cheap laundry basket into a beautiful light! How?!?!!!😱😱
I love the chain. I am so going to do this. I think in Gold. Or maybe do a fast dip in a container with water and nail polish to give it a marble look. Let it dry then spray to a high gloss. Might work? I need to think on that. Thanks for the great ideas.
Love all of these! Gonna make that dog toy chain for sure! Also love that you visited Wilmington NC, I live about an hour from there and absolutely love it 😍
I have a Rust-Oleum spray paint that color I've had forever and finally used it a couple weeks ago and was blown away!! Made cheap plastic planters look expensive. I gotta try the one you used though...the texture!!
Your terra-cotta paint made me remember an old trick from my florist days. We used to make sand paint. You can use it to make things look like stone or concrete. Love your videos!!
I must admit I was skeptical about the dog toy chain. But it turned out to be my fave! It even looks heavy. I think combining the chain DIY with the light fixture one in some sort of way could look great 😍
HOW CAN YOU BE SOOO CREATIVE? LIKE THE LAUNDRY BASKET LAMP? Such a lifesaver for my wallet!! I absolutely loved everything! I hope I can find that chainlink toy and terra-cotta spray in the Netherlands since we don’t have a dollar store. Loved everything!!
IDEA: When I was watching You talking in front of your bed & you first said the word macrame I envisioned a full wall of various textures in a ceiling to floor hanging with spots of black & terracotta behind your bed!!!!! In my minds eye it adds SO MUCH to the room & makes the large space Super cozy. Just my thought 💭 😘🦋
I love the light!!! It makes me think of all the different things you can do to it to change its look over time. You can change the cord color at the bottom, add tassels, weave in different ways through it. I'm definitely going to try this. I'm new to your channel and looking foward to more from your channel.
So I had an idea for the macrame frame. After gluing down the top and bottom, you can glue down the two sides but leave some loose string at the ends. Bring those loose strings up and use it as a cute way to hang it on the wall.
Great Video, Drew! Do what weavers do: roll the excess length of cord back and forth over your fingers to create a small skein. Now, you will have an easier unit to weave but it has all the length you will need. Look up on a weaving video - there's a method to tuck in the end.
The light fixture is so FAB. Especially considering those get really pricey when you buy them regular retail
Drew! Huh a diyer helping a diyer to diy easier with diys.
Mia lee, you explained this helpful hint so well. 👍🏻. It’s nice to see advice in a kind way ❤️. I will try this with Xmas lights...lol 😊
Or use the end and weave it in and out until you get 5-6 squares then pull thru
Buying that terra-cotta spray immediately 🙋🏻♀️
Same💕
It is amazing!
Yassssss
You can get the same pottery effect by adding baking soda to any other earth-tone paints! Looks fabulous with nudes, warm oranges and pinks, and it's a great option if you already own paint.
SAME!!!
That terra-cotta spray is SO GOOD
OMG the terracotta spray and the light fixture. I'm living.
Drew can make anything look good, even things from the dollar store
I would never look at a laundry basket the same ever again. Loved all your creativity. ❤
😂😂😂
I liked this comment before even getting to that part of the video because I already know I'm going to feel the same 🤷♀️
It seems like you are growing more comfortable with yourself and work. The way you speak and carry yourself in this video is so much more natural than previous ones! This video is a BANGER.
Like how you take Dollar Tree DIY's to a higher level - they always look nice.
Terracotta spray paint is genius!!! Love your channel
I'm 40 and finally got to go to Wilmington this past October. It was beautiful and so fun to drive around to all the OTH places.
That plastic hamper pendant light was BRILLIANT! That alone was worth watching this video. So cool.
My mind is blown! I use color of terracotta all through my home, so this paint is such a find for me. Just like finding the Gorilla glue sticks from watching your channel!😱❤
OMG that light fixture is everything! Impressed on how something simple can be turn into something so fabulous!

Love the pendant light 😭🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍I’m recreating that for sure

Led bulb would solve that problem

Stunning pieces! It's really amazing how you transform simple objects into sophisticated decor pieces! I really love your ideas and videos!
the pendant light was my fav..
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these projects! Easy. No major skilled needed. I can see the light fixture in unlimited variations. The terracotta is FABULOUS! And the dog toy transformation is simply genious! Great creativity! 👍👍👍
Love the diys ! Especially loving the light fixture & the vases ! The vases really look like terra cotta !!
I’m amazed by these projects with items from the dollar store. I can’t beleive how you transformed the basket. Now I want to decorate a basket like that even without using it as a pendant light 😍

2) I literally bought terra cotta spray paint YESTERDAY

That would honestly be a dream! One day :)

That basket light AMAZING idea !!! Even use it as a basket but customize macrame colors around 2 your own decor ... love this 😀
Imagine getting a heart from Drew💗
If you’re early, chances are you’ll get one.💕
Here's a bonus one: ❤
That light looks like it’s meant to be! I would buy that light. I like the repurposing!
You know Drew has moved closer to Macenna when he starts making pendant lights from utterly random things 😅
Pretty much thinking the exact same thing 😂
Lol so true!!
Sorry, but what’s Maceena?
Grace Ritenour Aw. Thank you for responding!! 🌸
The hamper is sooo clever! And like the black with the pop of neutral/texture👌🏾
That pendant was gorgeous. I've also just moved but I'm still debating on what to do to my room. But you are giving me ideas of what to do. Thanks:)

My mouth literally dropped when Drew asked where the One Tree Hill fans were... I knew I subscribed for a reason
THIS GUY IS A GENIUS!! Omg he is so creative and all of his diys never fail to impress me!!!!! He made a cheap laundry basket into a beautiful light! How?!?!!!😱😱
I NEED THIS SHIRT 😍😍😍
It is honestly one of my favorite shirts!
Your talent is unmatched!! You make everything look 10x more expensive
I love the chain. I am so going to do this. I think in Gold. Or maybe do a fast dip in a container with water and nail polish to give it a marble look. Let it dry then spray to a high gloss. Might work? I need to think on that. Thanks for the great ideas.
You win with the marble look!
I say do it!...$tore basket and 💅 it's a no brainer. That's a great idea.
Well, you know what I mean. I thought you meant the light at first. But the chain too!
I imagined the same thing, but my lazy self told me to wait till halloween and buy those chain props.
Omg that basket pendant light!!!!! I'm definitely trying it and I'd prefer to see the macrame entirely covering it! So beautiful
That light was an amazing idea! If a person had absolutely no money that would b a great light for them. Karen Florida
Drew is so personable and creative! I really hope his channel
Keeps growing exponentially. TH-cam needs more creators like him!
Love all of these! Gonna make that dog toy chain for sure! Also love that you visited Wilmington NC, I live about an hour from there and absolutely love it 😍

Same! So happy to see he uploaded :))
That light was game changing!!!!
can't stop laughing at the retail price of those chain link decor examples lmaooooo
Mad what people are prepared to pay for something just because it's 'trendy' 😂
The pendant light is everything!
Everytime I see a DIY pendant light I think of XO, Macenna 😂😂
I loved whenever you said Terracotta!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Not gonna lie, when I spray paint, it ALWAYS drips.
Always!
Me too. I get my husband to do my spray painting. I tried to spray a shower caddy and flower pot for an upgraded look and hello drippy!
I think if it is dripping you are spraying too close
Dripping happens when you spray to close or to much at once on one area
You're too close or staying in one section for too long. Keep it moving, don't stop in one spot, give at least a foot of space.
Love them all but cannot get over that laundry basket/ light shade!
That cage light is fantastic. I love the terracotta-painted items, too.
So happy about the terra-cotta spray paint! Can finally reuse my nursery pots in style around the apartment!
Literally HOW does the cage light look soooooo good!!?!?!?
OMG THAT LIGHT! That is genius and gorgeous. Amazing job!
I have a Rust-Oleum spray paint that color I've had forever and finally used it a couple weeks ago and was blown away!! Made cheap plastic planters look expensive. I gotta try the one you used though...the texture!!
Wow that pendant light is amazing! Love the terra cotta spray paint project, too.
terracotta paint is epic!!!!!!
yess!!
Never would have guessed the pendant lamp began life as a laundry basket!!! ❤️ 💕❤️❣️
The lamp is brilliant! Its simplicity makes it even more perfect.Chapeau.
Your terra-cotta paint made me remember an old trick from my florist days. We used to make sand paint. You can use it to make things look like stone or concrete. Love your videos!!
I looove that you uses everything you DIY into your room or whatever room it is!! 😍😍
Absolutely love each of these but that laundry basket light is GENIUS!!! Loved them all! Great job!!!
I must admit I was skeptical about the dog toy chain. But it turned out to be my fave! It even looks heavy. I think combining the chain DIY with the light fixture one in some sort of way could look great 😍

Drew constantly amazes me with the ideas he comes up with!
Love all 3 of these DIYs! 💙

All of your Dollar Tree DIY’s are original and look high-end, not cookie cutter. Good job!
I love the light!!! It makes me think of all the different things you can do to it to change its look over time. You can change the cord color at the bottom, add tassels, weave in different ways through it. I'm definitely going to try this. I'm new to your channel and looking foward to more from your channel.
Holy Smokes! that basket and the terra cotta paint! Winners.
That pendant like just changed my life!!!! Like whattttt that is the best Dollar diy I’ve ever seen.
haha TY!
That light fixture is a must. Definitely making that. Thank you! 😍❤️
Love the basket light fixture. Innovative yet cool!
Love the pendant light. So neat looking and wow the terracotta paint spray was a game changer
All of those ideas were great! The chain looked like powder coated, hand-forged iron!
