should be noted that the dodge mechanic is planing on being changed so you should try to dash over chase dodge
it's harder but much cleaner
But HOW? I cant do a nlight after dodge cancelling,it always becomes dlight instead

Thanks! Actually you can dash cancel and do similar strings but I didn't train doing that and when this was made dash canceling was less known.

so for some reason my character literally does the vortex thing where it flies over for the dodge not chase dodge.
Why can’t I do this I’m having trouble getting a chase dodge cancel and hitting him
I understand the mechanic, but I can't do it consistently. Sometimes I cancel it properly and I can go right into the next attack, and other time it just does the full chase dodge and I get nothing. I seem to be spamming the attack key after the chase dodge properly so that it should cancel, but it just doesnt.
Yeah that's just learning, keep practicing and working on the timing and you will get better at it. Took me a long time before I could consistently get the timing down.
But if I instead use dash cancel for some of the strings it would be just like katars why would I use my chase dodge

I’m trying to do the 80% Greatsword string and I get to the s-light dash cancel into s-light n-light d-light but I physically can’t any tips?
I am not sure, I just practiced over and over and over and over again, took me a loong time to finally get a good consistent movement down. What I did is tried to take each section 1 at a time and slow it down, specifically the dodge cancels. When I got, let's say 3 moves down well, I then worked on 4, then 5 but did them over and over each time until my fingers understood the movement better.

Everytime you chase dodge I also see you press w for a split second any reason for this?
I think it is when I am performing a neutral light attack and pushing W while grounded results in a neutral light attack.
Is it possible to do the nlight bridge into nlight starter on controller

no, dash then attack.
So goes like this, Side light attack -> Dodge forward -> Neutral light attack.
you have to do it in order but quickly and properly timed. If you do it too fast then the move wont come out, if you do it to slow then it wont hit you opponent.

Are you able to Slight -> dc -> dlight. No matter how quickly I press chase dodge after the slight I always majority overshoot
you are able to but it only really works as a specific dodge read of your opponent and not used a ton imo.
@@SkillzWG I see so I should focus on nlight and slight as follow ups after a DC then?
@@silent_harpy5768 I would, they are generally easier to get a read off and more comon to hit.

I don't know if it's necessary but I use it to make it easier

In training mode, for the challenges. The Greatsword: Dash Cancel challenge, they want me to slight, dash, neutral light opener, neutral light ender. But I can't dash without it full chase dodging passed the bot and it missing the nlight
Sounds to me like your not inputting the attack fast enough. If you don't you will just chase dodge through so work on inputting the attack faster.
@@SkillzWG i seem to struggle with anything that requires me pressing dodge/dash. for example with trying to gravity cancel, sometimes the gravity cancel wont register. For example if trying to do GC DLight, it will just come up as Dair
also im playing on controller, and i swear im spamming keys, and it somehow feels like no matter how fast i press, it still wont register. I overclocked the controller, still feels delayed. Not sure. Could still be me.
@@RumBTvno it’s just the controller only pc players can do what he’s doing in the video… controller players unfortunately have to play normal for greatsword.

Fun fact, this doesn’t work on controller, another fun fact, you can’t use Magyar doing this which sucks.
Idk about the controller but this for sure works in Magyar, I do it all the time.
