The more I think about, sonic on nintendo switch reminds me of sonic on the ds-3ds era. A mixed bag. While both systems have bangers like rush or origins. They also have misses like sonic chronicles and sonic forces respectively. Both era’s also have racing games, olympic games, and have versions of generations and colors

I think you were too nice on Sonic Colors Ultimate for the Nintendo switch. It also runs only at 30 frames per second, compared to the 60 frames on the wii.
On one hand, the games don't run AS well as the XBox/PlayStation version. But on the other hand, it doesn't feel like you're missing anything like from the Wii era, where any game made for XBox 360 was either replaced with a different game for the Wii's less impressive graphics (getting Secret Rings instead of 06 and Colors instead of Generations) or get an alternate version that, while having the same ideas on paper, is essentially a different game (Unleashed). I'd say the problem for the Wii/360 era is you needed two consoles to play all home console Sonic games. While it was fun to compare exclusives, it no longer feels like you're missing out on something if you only own one console. As a Nintendo devotee, I was loved Colors, Black Knight, and even my first Secret Rings. But I was saddened I didn't get to play 06 (when my naive child brain only looked at the cool cutscenes) and Generations because I only had Wii (and my PC was not powerful enough to do Generations either) The Wii U could have been better, but that was the era where we got Lost World, and then radio silence aside from an AU game until Forces finally came out. And even if the Switch games don't run AS well, it's only by comparison. They're still very fun to play and have the bonus of being portable.

I wished that all the past Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Games are on Nintendo Switch games just like they did for mario and sonic at the olympic games tokyo 2020 because no one are playing Wii, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS anymore now that they're moving onto Nintendo Switch and there aren't going to be anymore released on Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Games in the future.
I LOVED Sonic Forces, even if it was WAAAAAY too short. My only positive aspect of that was the character customization. My avatar was the Bird {Female} Character and I made her similar to my favorite Sonic Riders/Zero Gravity character, Wave the Swallow, with a black bandanna on her head, a black torn scarf, neat-looking black gloves, short black boots and pants and instead of pink, she was orange and had purple eyes and white chest feathers. My favorite stages in the game were Prison Hall, Park Avenue and Guardian Rock. Unfortunately I gave the game up to collect dust on the shelves of GameStop for that one reason: it was TOO SHORT and not even fun to play with anymore. I finished the game rather quickly in four hours. The only complaint I have is how so short the game was. I don't think I even touched it again after finishing it.

You had me until the "Why is Sonic in a car" part during the Team Sonic Racing. Sonic is known for his high speed on-foot. If he done the race on his very feet then it's no contest that Sonic would win. Pretty much the only reason Sonic is in a car is to make competition fair. Anyways I pretty much got all of these Sonic games on Switch (Minus Sonic X Shadow Generations obviously) I have a PS5, but I favor portability more than fancier graphics and frame rates. Also you forgot to mention the Sega Genesis Classics collection which contains not only both Sonic 1 and 2, but also Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Sonic Spinball and Sonic 3D Blast among a lot of non-Sonic games like the Streets of Rage and Golden Axe trilogies, Toejam and Earl duology, Ristar, Vectorman duology and Gunstar Heroes to name a few. Honestly outside of having the most old-school feel for Sonic 1 and 2, I don't see why I should play those games on Switch Online, Sega Ages or Genesis Classics releases when I got Origins with it's widescreen, playable Knuckles and Amy, Hidden Place Zone for Sonic 2, infinite lives and using coins to retry special stages. In fact, Origins pretty much replaced all my other versions of the original Sonic trilogy and Sonic CD. I even prefer the Sonic Origins music for 3&K!
From what I’ve heard about sonic frontier is that it seems like a good first attempt but a lot of the places of interest feel very disconnected and random. So it will be cool to see how they weave things together in an open world for their next release!

I really never understood why people get confused when they see Sonic in a car. Sure, he really wouldn't need a car, that is true. But there is no reason to assume that he wouldn't enjoy driving a car. It's certainly different enough from running that he would give it a try, just to switch things up a bit, just for fun.
Wow, I really enjoyed playing a Sonic the Hedgehog games on Nintendo Switch, just got a Sonic X Shadow Generations for 2011 version of remastered on Switch was so perfect and they will be next for remastered is Sonic Lost World for Switch/PS5/Xbox of next year in 2025 or 35th anniversary in 2026 when Sonic Central direct will announced it soon.

Superstars felt like the most handheld game ever. that one game that you played in your childhood that enjoyed but never beated, this is speaking from a 14 year old that has played and finished all the classic games and I could just imagine superstars being some forgotten gameboy game
You did miss a few games. The Sega Genesis Collection for Switch had Sonic 1 and 2. Yes they were emulated roms in a larger collection of Genesis games, but it is still Sonic on the Switch. M2 also ported Sonic 1 and 2 directly to the Switch in the SEGA Ages games. It seems a shame to ignore them especially since these releases came out before Sonic Origins, giving fans a chance to play the original games in the early years of the Switch. There is also whatever is included in the NSO Sega Genesis games. Probably just Sonic 1 and 2... still it's Sonic on the Switch
Despite the quality oscillating, somehow Sonic persevered. It was always among the kings of platforming. Also, maybe I'm being cranky, the Forces OST was a huge disappointment for me. As much as the game as a whole.
out of those games, Generations Remake (hopefully), Frontiers, and Mania are guaranteed gets, Olympics and Origins if I'm feeling generous, be cautious of Ultimate especially since you need to update it or risk running into the Seizure Glitch, Forces while alright is Mediocre, Superstars even more Mediocre than that, and Team Racing alright but lacks content a bit, so out of those, five games are worth getting or trying, the others can be avoided, tho most like Forces, Frontiers, and Generations are best played on PC for the Mods

Like many switch one but more one I like is not out yet lol. But love color, force, origin. Also collection thing but not Just sonic have other like golden axe, street of rage, ect. Switch 3rd best age of I say.

Sorry to burst your bubble but sonic on the switch is horrible. Colors Ultimate is full of glitches no other version has. Frontiers can't even load something 2 feet away. Superstars has loading screens that are abysmal and everything else is just mediocre compared to the Xbox, Playstation and PC versions. 30fps cap with some effects entirely removed. Heck, Team Sonic Racing had it's entire CGI intro cut from the switch version. The only game that runs well on the switch is mania but that's just because it's a 2D 16 bit game. I don't think Sonic X Shadow generations will be any better either. If you really care about sonic and want the best experience, go get a PC. It has the best versions of the games along with the ability to use mods and play fan games.
Switch Colors has had patches and isn’t much glitchier than other versions now, plays better than Wii. Frontiers has some pop in but otherwise plays just fine and reviewed about as well as other versions. Superstars plays fine in gameplay. No one cares about the intro from Team Sonic Racing, game plays fine. Sonic and Shadow Generations plays AMAZING on Switch. Switch versions obviously will play with worse performance compared to other versions but generally, all of these are fine enough on Switch and portable to boot. Games like Colors, Superstars and Frontiers have issues even on other platforms but are still good (at least after patches or updates), and Switch plays them fine enough.
As someone who plays, PC, PS5 and switch, I think the switch plays all of these games solidly! Portable is definitely a plus. Yeah the other versions other than switch may look better and have better fps. I think the switch runs them pretty solid! I enjoy playing frontiers and generations on the go :)
Not to mention the bosses, they are way too long and sometimes can be hard to beat even if you know what's coming. And if you die, you restart the entire boss.
I got PC and ps5. The switch runs these games pretty solidly. Even tho the other versions run it at better fps and graphics. I enjoy the switch and the fact you can play these games portably is a nice plus imo :)

Meh. Most people don't know or care about frame rates. It didn't really detract from the gameplay for me.

I don’t see removing the other SEGA characters as a positive in any way. It just makes the game more generic…
i really hope some day they make another sega all stars game because sega really has a variety of characters, and if they just keep it to sonic for now on , please make it more than 15 characters. Like cmon man sonic is a big ip with many characters and the best they thought of was zavok😅

Like many switch one but more one I like is not out yet lol. But love color, force, origin. Also collection thing but not Just sonic have other like golden axe, street of rage, ect. Switch 3rd best age of I say.

I first thought that the Nintendo switch was only handheld some time ago and I was really surprised layer that it was also a console and I didn't notice for 2 years 😢
So... what's here that makes the video actually unique? This is basically a description of every game released since Mania excpet very few exceptions. Sorry but gotta be real, this is basically a nothing burger
Sorry to burst your bubble but sonic on the switch is horrible. Colors Ultimate is full of glitches no other version has. Frontiers can't even load something 2 feet away. Superstars has loading screens that are abysmal and everything else is just mediocre compared to the Xbox, Playstation and PC versions. 30fps cap with some effects entirely removed. Heck, Team Sonic Racing had it's entire CGI intro cut from the switch version. The only game that runs well on the switch is mania but that's just because it's a 2D 16 bit game. I don't think Sonic X Shadow generations will be any better either. If you really care about sonic and want the best experience, go get a PC. It has the best versions of the games along with the ability to use mods and play fan games.
Switch Colors has had patches and isn’t much glitchier than other versions now, plays better than Wii. Frontiers has some pop in but otherwise plays just fine and reviewed about as well as other versions. Superstars plays fine in gameplay. No one cares about the intro from Team Sonic Racing, game plays fine. Sonic and Shadow Generations plays AMAZING on Switch.
Switch versions obviously will play with worse performance compared to other versions but generally, all of these are fine enough on Switch and portable to boot. Games like Colors, Superstars and Frontiers have issues even on other platforms but are still good (at least after patches or updates), and Switch plays them fine enough.
As someone who plays, PC, PS5 and switch, I think the switch plays all of these games solidly! Portable is definitely a plus. Yeah the other versions other than switch may look better and have better fps. I think the switch runs them pretty solid! I enjoy playing frontiers and generations on the go :)

Sonic Superstars is very dissapoiting game. Music is half good and some of zones are really bad.
Not to mention the bosses, they are way too long and sometimes can be hard to beat even if you know what's coming. And if you die, you restart the entire boss.

maybe because the switch is the cheapest method (and the best method).
I got PC and ps5. The switch runs these games pretty solidly. Even tho the other versions run it at better fps and graphics. I enjoy the switch and the fact you can play these games portably is a nice plus imo :)
