@@derekdavies1734 I was born in 63 and I lived on Westbury Street and I went to St Helens school. With a shortage of work my parents left Swansea on my 7th Birthday. I now live in Somerset but I still love that old place. I do follow the Swans and often visit the Liberty along with my 25 yr son and a visit to my family that still live in Swansea. The footage in your film shows shots of the Bay View Hotel. My grandparents lived just along the road from there on Oystermouth Rd and I believe their old house still remains the only property that is private and not a guest house. Such wonderful memories inspired by your song, Thank you.
Great vid: Circa 3:20 mins into the video there is a street with a zebra crossing point, can you tell me where is this location in Swansea? If Oxford Street, I don't recognise the location.
Hi Andy… Thank you for your appreciation of the song. To be fair the video was put together some time ago by a friend of mine. I’m not quite sure myself why it was put in or where that location is myself?? I shall ask him and get back to you asap.. But once again thank you for liking the song.
So spoke to the guy who put the video together.. We suspect he unintentionally put that photo in by mistake. He’s not from the area, So it was an innocent mistake on his behalf..
Take Me Back by Derek Davies, Copyright 2017. The cobbled streets that paved old Swansea Town, the morning mist across the sea. Playing football in Victoria Park, those happy days that you gave me. Long summer days we'd play there on the sands, seagulls cry and children play. The ice cream van was there, to cool us down, The Mumbles light house on the Bay. Chorus. Those days are gone forever in my life, Please take me back Lord that I pray,To the town and city streets where I came from, to the sweeping sands of Swansea Bay. Going fishing then was pure delight, skimming stones across the sea. Campfires burning there all through the night, oh what joy it used to be. Chorus. Those days are gone forever in my life, Please take me back Lord that I pray,To the town and city streets where I came from,to the sweeping sands of Swansea Bay. The Guildhall clock stands tall, above that town, Back then it's time stood still for me. The Old Slip Bridge,The Vetch, and Swansea Jack,Those memories that live in me. Chorus. Those days are gone forever in my life, Please take me back Lord that I pray,To the town and city streets where I came from,to the sweeping sands of Swansea Bay.
I absolutely love this, takes me back many years to happy times.
Thank you 🙏

@@derekdavies1734 Thanks for chasing it up.
This makes me long for old Swansea. Is there any chance that you could put the words of the song in here too?
