Man, in my country the "accessible for common people internet" speeds range from 2-4 mbps down at max, unless you want to pay like half your monthly salary for a "better" capped to the balls 8-10 mbps line. My isp advertises 2 mbps down for my current connection and I barely hit 1.2 on the luckiest of days, and downloads happen at a blistering 150-200 kbps, I wish i had 50 mbps connection like you guys. Watching youtube videos in 360p without buffering is considered a God's gift over here. -.-

I'm using a VPN so I can get around regional restrictions, just signed up to US Netflix from New Zealand the other day.

I assume installing the VPN on the router would affect any device connected to it? Are you going to make a video showing the VPN/router install?

Lets start a kickstarter launch our own satellite and free internet for all or at very worst very small maintenance cost!

I've been putting off using the VPN connection that's installed on my devices, this explains why I should use it unlike others who tell me to do the same without any explanation, thank you very much for opening my eyes on this subject.

The reason why we get slow internet speeds is because they are spying so much on us! It takes all our connection because they have to stream all you do on your PC !

I HATE ISPs, they get away with so much bs but no one does anything about it. I can't wait for Google Fiber to get around. I pay for Turbo Boost (30mbps) from Comcast but only get like 15-20mbps

I found PIA through another channel about a week ago and love it. I have since sold four other people on the service. Thanks for posting this in depth explanation/review, I will be sending this link on to others to explain just why they want to use PIA/VPN service.

The only problem I see with a VPN is that it enables the ISP's to keep doing what they are doing and why should I have to get a VPN when I'm paying a lot of money for the connection. Its time to really get the government to force them to upgrade the internet with the money they have got to do EXACTLY what they got paid for. People need to get on their federal representatives. I know its 40 dollars a year but its the principal of it.

Thank you so much for this! I regularly get half the speed I am paying for from my ISP, but with this (My vpn is through avast) I get the full 55 Mbps. Much love! EDIT: My ISP is Wave Broadband in WA.

How do ISP's limit our connection speed? Is it something that can be worked around? Thanks

I've been using PIA from Australia for about 2 years using OpenVPN in my pfSense firewall, makes a great setup.
