Just rode this yesterday!! 100% agreed on your review. I think im closer to 8.5/10 for my score given the historic nature of this ride, but I'm with you that its counted as a coaster (barely) but the thrills arent too amazing. Still a beautiful attraction with so much history
Don't the splash mountain flumes have an uphill section that isn't part of the main drop? I know it's such a gray area, just like the Zipline "coaster" debate too haha
I think with the zip line debate, the best argument I’ve heard of is if the ride “car” attached to the track is rigid or not, most zip line rides will just be a rope or steel cable that is connected between two points. Examples might include the wiegand models have a rigid track and attachment with a suspended car beneath. If that makes sense. To the point of flume v coaster, in my opinion I mostly go off of weather of not the manufacture considered it be be intended as a water COASTER or a flume. Mack labeled their rides as water coasters and have other aspects such a turns and swoops in the track, like JTA at SWO. This seems like EF Miller just wanted to make a flume but didn’t want to put in a new permit and just reused the water coaster name from Kersplash.
@@Hmcrambo so then would you count the Sky Rider Ziplines at all the Urban Air locations as coasters then too? Since they're hard mounted track. At $50 per person for each of those, those will be even more of a nuisance to get as credits than the ~$10 average per SBF spinner haha
@@coastersandcosplays sorry I guess my comment was a little confusing, I mean a rigid coaster car with suspended hardware. The WieFlyer model is a good example of this, I think there is also another example in Quebec City by another manufacturer.
@@Hmcrambo that makes so much more sense!! Some people claim things like Flying Ox in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee as a credit and I personally just don't get it 🤣🤣
This ride is definitely a stretch even if you want to get technical about the definition of a coaster. I know you mentioned Journey to Atlantis at SW San Antonio. Do you count JTA at SW Orlando as a coaster? As you're aware it's similar as well because it's basically a log flume with a tiny segment of coaster track where as I always think of JTA at SW San Antonio as a Shoot the Chute ride with a tiny bit of coaster track. I personally count them both but only because it meant a lot to one of my kids to call them coasters in order to get her over her fear of coasters.
So you would have to consider splash mountain and dudley do right as coasters. Both have multiple drops before the main drop. Technically all flumes are coasters, they may float but they are on tracks and use wheels. The drops are completely on the wheels. If you go by the definition needs to have a track lift and and gravity drop.
@CanobieCoaster why would you count this then? Both of them have pre drops with airtime before the main drop. If the scenery was removed it would have the same looking section that made this ride a coaster. Personally no flumes should be categorized as a rollercoaster.

I agree it's a good ride, coaster or not.
Wildcats revenge is insane
It's wonderful.
It's a credit imo, it's enough of a coaster to be a coaster to me
Fair!
Do you like the laff trakk ride
It's fun, but I hate the line.
I hope my question makes sense, but do you give this ride a 7 as a water ride or as a coaster?
Compared to flumes.

I count all the Journey to Atlantis rides as coasters.
Do you like laffTrakk
It's solid. I just hate queuing for it.
This seems like the first what’s in the shed, mystic just ripped it off
It's a parody.
It feels more like a ripoff of the Knott's flume than Mystic.
Do you like Hersheypark?
It's one of my favorite parks.
Credit or not, I love the setting on this ride.
I agree.
What is your favorite roller coaster at Hersheypark?
Skyrush
Is it a log flume? Or a roller coaster
Both
It's a hybrid water log coaster!?.
Evaluation is real. Hmm
Sort of!
I like Hersheypark how about you?
One of my favorite parks.
I’ve written all the roller coasters at Hersheypark and got over my fear.
Nice!
Which ride would you prefer, Big Timber Log Ride at Enchanted Forest or Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardens Williamsburg? Why?
Apollo's Chariot. Much better drops and airtime.
This looks like a must eide flume.
It's a good flume.
It’s Jayden I have never been on big timber log ride
It's a quirky ride.

My favorite is wildcats revenge
That's my 2nd favorite at Hersheypark.
Log ride coaster
Pretty much.
