I have been loving the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Face mist Sunscreen spf 55 for reapplying throughout the day ! ✨ it's a little oily at first (especially if you hold it super close to your face like me to avoid waisting even a drop! 😂) but it dries down a few minutes after or sometimes I just pat it in a little. Chefs Kiss !
When I tell you I'm with you on the Colorscience. Now I've been using them the past couple years for reapplying my sunscreen because as an oily skin gal I prefer a powder and I didn't have any other options available at the time. I used it in deep as well when I first tried them and it was decent. Then one day I reordered from their website and the new one they sent me (in deep cause I checked) looked kinda melanin-deficient. So i took out the old one to compare since I still had some left and sure enough it was significantly lighter. I was madder than mad. Took some pictures and posted about it in a review on their website. They never responded and that says a lot to me. So now that you mentioned the Supergoop powder (I was also looking at that but the deep shade was out of stock for......a while) I think I'll just switch to them. Apologies for the lengthy rant lol, but I had to vent. And on top of that their price skyrocketed to the moon so buh-bye Colorscience!
PS. That Lad-ah-Mercy yuh pelt out for the last product had me cacklin like a skettel eh! 😂😂😂😂

I am just discovering Kinlo golden rays sunscreen SPF 50 deep tinted mineral suncreen. It is tinted for deeper skin tones. It goes on very smooth. I am liking this product. Got it at Wal-Mart.

You know, I got the tinted sunscreen and at first I felt the same way, but I have learned to use it and love it. I can tell, however, the power brush Colorscience is probably even LIGHTER than the tinted sunscreen and would be NO. Also, if I were just even a little darker I would not be able to use the tinted sunscreen.

Hi! I have yet to find a mineral sunscreen that works for me; usually they end up looking gray, orange or purple! I use and love La Roche Posay Shaka SPF 50+ fragrance free sunscreen and I sometimes put the SVR Cicavit+ Creme sunscreen on top. I have tried the Colorscience Brush On in Dark and in Translucent; neither work for me. Also, I have never found a foundation that works well for me, so I don't wear any this makes it very easy for me to reapply sunscreen three times or more a day. Thanks for your video!
I think the Heliocare Watergel/Airgel might work really well for this as well. I'll come back and let you know though!
I just wanted to pop in and THANK YOU for the lower shower temperature suggestion. I heard you loud and clear, hahahaha. I’ve been doing it for the last few months and girl. Do you know that my elbows, knees AND feet barely have hyperpigmentation anymore? My skin is so much more even toned now. I’ve been so shocked looking at how different my joints look. And no you guys, I’m not taking cool shower. I just take warm ones instead of the hot I was taking and they still feel good. It really has worked for me. Thank you so much for that tip!!!!!
I didn't know about the knee and elbow lightening but a good friend of mine said that cooler showers and an ayuverdic diet helped reverse her alopecia.

I ordered the Hawaiian tropic and Supergoop powder. I previously tried the Coppertone shimmer spray and it dried out my skin…and I don’t even have dry skin! It was a little disappointing. Hopefully these will be better.
Thank you for this video. I'd seen Dr Stephens' video on this but some of her choices can be on the pricey side but still always nice to have more options for those of us with deeper skin tones. And yes, the whole sunscreen industry and their versions of "deep" is problematic especially when they wind up being orange.

I've been looking for a way to reapply sunscreen over makeup. Today I found a setting spray by Pacifica. Have you heard of or tried this? I bought it hoping it will work. I sprayed it on my arm in the store and it dried down matte. It has a strong, really strong cherry fragrance though.

I’m 💀 at your colorescience bit. I’ve been so mad at them, too. I got their glow sunscreen and it def leaves a cast. There are several mineral sunscreens on the market in the $30 range that leave no cast so how does colorescience get away with $45-$65 tinted sunscreens that leave a cast??? I’m convinced it’s their partnerships with derms who keep recommending them. Also, side note, I’m always admiring your eyebrows. They are PERFECTION! Always.
Colorescience had me heated yo! lol. Been disappointed way too may times by their "deep" shades. And thanks for the eyebrow love!!! I've been going to the same threader for over a decade lol

Every single product I’ve tried has been a hot mess. Especially their mineral gel sunscreens that are blue. They go on easy at first but as you’re applying you start to see them pilling and turning into a chalky mess. The worst! The only use I see for their glittery ones is for kids whom you want to use mineral sunscreens on and the glitter might get them to fight you less during application LOL.

@@BabyGirl-cw6uj My all-time fave mineral sunscreen is Live Tinted Hueguard. You can find it at Ulta. Another fave is by the brand Cotz (the sensitive skin and the flawless complexion ones are great). Dr Dennis Gross Wrinkle Defense is good too. I know Danielle has tons of great mineral SPF videos here on her channel, too, where she tries them on. I’m pretty sure she had demo’d all the ones I listed here in various videos, so check those videos out!

So I recently watched not so pretty documentary on HBO max and this has made me reconsider what i am putting on my body.... that said that is possible to do a video on sunscreen that are vegan? I'm pretty sure there won't be many options, but i would love to see what you can find.
ColorScience works for me, but my skin tone is lighter and I don’t wear makeup every day. Easy way to reapply.

But a lot of the makeup mineral powders (which are usually made by smaller brands) provide some sun protection---only thing is that because it's more of a makeup product it might be too cakey to reapply throughout the day. BUT they will also contain iron oxides so you get that visible light protection.

I have tried the jack black brand and the sun bum brand. However, I was hoping for some other alternatives. Any suggestions would be amazing. And thanks
Adding my 2 cents. Some spf lip balms leave your lips really white and pasty. I like MD SolarSciences or Jane Iredale lip balms. They have different shades so no white lips. The Jane Iredale (mineral) is a more like a balm, and the MD SolarSciences (chemical)is a little glossier. Oh, and Supergoop (chemical) has a clear gloss that I like and it’s colorless, mint flavor.
Hey! Thank youuuu! I have a video where I tried two from I believe a Korean brand, but to be honest, there really isn’t that much variety in SPF lip balms to create videos around them. Unless some new science comes out surrounding them, to me you try one, you’ve pretty much tried them all.
The stick works for me…it isn’t perfect, but the best by far. I use Neutrogena stick. And I never spend a lot of money on skincare.point blank and period

Not gonna lie I side eye the companies that make sunscreen oil 👀 I’d be interested in seeing the result under uv light. I saw a documentary once that explained that the uv protection is not the same with these oils and mists! Loved the video and suggestions 😇
lol--they work. Like any sunscreen though, you need to put on enough to get the SPF listed on the bottle (2 mg of sunscreen per centimeter square of skin).

crazy because someone commented (maybe even on this video) that they had a "deep" powder with a little bit of product left and then reordered another deep and it was significantly lighter than the previous one.
Shame on Bare Mineral for adding glitter to a bottle of ashes. Going after the Kroger one. My dermatologist at NYU recommended I try Cotz Tinted Sunscreen. It rubs in so easily! Check it out if you haven't already.

you mean reapplying SUNSCREEN over makeup? and yes, people do actually do this...lol. As the day wears on, your sweat, oil, and other elements can wear down your sunscreen. reapplying helps to ensure your skin is protected.

@@styleandbeautydoctor yeahhhhh I watched the video and I might try the Supergoop spray but I just don't trust the process. Putting another product over oil, sweat, old sunscreen, and makeup is something dermatologist recommend against especially anyone with sensitive or fickle skin.
@@michelea2326 dermatologists actually recommend for us to reapply our sunscreen throughout the day…lol. If you have sensitive skin, you would want to ensure that you protect your skin from UV.
There are different types of sunscreens out there for varying skin types and lifestyles. You’re in a beneficial time where you can easily find content from derms (like Dr Alexis Stephens) right here on TH-cam who talk about reapplying sunscreen throughout the day even over makeup.
I personally don’t sweat a lot, but I’d assume some who do may just cleanse in the middle of the day and start fresh.
So I’m assuming you wear makeup-do you not touch it up at all throughout the day?
You steered us wrong with one of your recommendations. The C’est Moi mineral sunscreen 😐 I’m olive toned about 6 shades lighter than you and that left a horrible cast!!!
C'est Moi makes a number of sunscreens---are you sure you got the one I demoed? Also, I demo all the sunscreens in my videos so you saw for yourself that it worked for me, so not sure how I steered you wrong...lol. Also, there could be a number of reasons why you got a cast and I didn't: if your face was still damp from previous products, if you didn't apply in thin layers, etc
Interesting. That C’est Moi sunshine sunscreen is my favorite. They also have one in the blue bottle. Maybe that one has more of a cast than the sunshine one that Danielle tested 🤷🏻♀️
