There is a free floating back plate between the exterior plate with the lugs and the axle bearing that the guys at cj pony parts cut it out in their video. Reading through the directions, I see no mention of removing or cutting this free floating back plate when the axle is removed. May I ask what you did? Also, did you require the axle shaft felpro seal? Again, I see no mention of it in the videos I've seen or the directions given.
hey bud, thanks for your question, i installed seals before installing the axels so sorry that i did not catch that my camera didn't want to cooperate that day and then the bearings are sealed and came with and o-ring to seal in between the surface of the bearing and the housing, so i did not use any additional seals or sealant during the axel installation, about the plate i did not cut or modified anything, this rear came with the plate that you saw on the video to keep the axles in place and the rear brakes centered
@DannysClassicGarage so you used the retaining plate from the willwood kit. The c-shaped retaining plate in the videos. I do not see the original square retaining plate in the video that would normally be between the lug plate and the bearings. To be more clear, I include the following video. @@DannysClassicGarageto be clear... at the 15 minute mark, you must have planned ahead and did not have the square plate to cut off? Thank you. I'm thinking of replacing the bearings since I'm in there already. th-cam.com/video/bXBRuxl16rw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kRGucU5XjdSK0iwA
@mrsaiyanaa ok now i see your confusion, the reason that I didn't cut anything on mine it's because is a complete new build, axles and everything so the came without that plate because we only need the one that you saw on my videothe one on the wilwood kit)....but if you are working with an old rear end you are gonna have to cut it, remove it amd replace it for the one that comes with the wilwood kit
Oh my gosh I’m so glad I came across your video! Very detailed explanation I have QP with Wildwoods you provided some great tips!
I'm glad you like bud, really appreciate your comment 👍🏻...
which Wildwood kit is that? the 11" Dynalite or 12" pro Street that Quick has on their site?
I used 140-7140-D Wilwood Dynalite Rear Parking Brake Kit 12"
