Its weird how these cars work. Mine sits for a long time as well and it blew on its own. I really have no other answer about it other than an older car. If it blows again, don't up the amperage since it might lead to something worse.
hello my friend ..I have a problem with my Mercedes 2006 S400 car .. If I use it, for example, it is 5 in the morning and the engine turns off .. I can not start the car until after 24 hours at the same time ?? do you have info about that?
That sounds like. Crankshaft position sensor. CPS sensor. I've had that happen to my car before as well but i didn't post a video. After you replace it, you will need to take it to a mercedes mechanic to reset the ring gear adaptation. Hope this solves your problem. Cheers
There's most likely a "short" in the line somewhere. That could be anywhere. That can be a tough one. Try checking the mercedes forums online. They have a lot of experts in further diagnosis. Hope it helps you.
Replace your alarm siren, internal battery dies and losses communication, sits behind the drivers wheel behind fender cover. Sounds odd but that’s your problem, it’s common on 10 year old MBs.

THERE is a rear antenae in the upper rear window deck inside backseat. You would need to buy a new one or clean the connections. You access by partially removing some trim from rear window left and right. This is where the Sclass antenaes is.
I have a friend with 2000 s500 and it won't start or crank. We tested the relay and a message popped up.but now no lights will come on on the dash and still won't start
Have you checked to make sure that the battery has charge? Check and make sure that there's power going into the SAM unit. Check voltage at the bottom of the passenger front seat floor mat.
The same fuse is blown out on my s500 except mines blows out immediately when I put a new one in. What are possibly causes? Your comments will be greatly appreciated.
Do you have your car battery connected to a float charger? If yes, disconnect before pressing any remote buttons. Also, leave car unlocked when float charging. I'm not sure what else could cause the fuse to pop. For sure there's a short somewhere that's causing that. Make sure that fuse is snug in the housing to prevent arching.

Hi. Does your lock unlock button work on the doors? If it does then you may need to reprogram the remote. If the door switches don't unlock or lock the doors, then it could be the lock fuse

Aww man. You might have some issues with the Sam unit. I suggest go to an independent shop and see if you can have them run a code check. You might have blown fuses or computer needs to be reset because of a dead battery. Let me know how it goes. Cheers.
Hi, I have a Mercedes B250. The key fob stopped working and wouldn’t unlock the doors. I use the manual key inside the key fob to unlock the door and was luckily able to start the car with the key fob itself. Any thoughts on what it could be? I've had the key fob battery changed, the car battery charged, and replaced the 78 fuse. Let me know, Thanks!
Ignition fault, if you keep the key in the igniton 24/7 it Will work but its a temporay solution you have to change the igniton cause its not ”reading” the key, costs about 1000 dollar from Mercedes they have to do it beacuse of programming and stuff
my car is doing the exactly samething doors dont unlock on key I changed the key battery my battery charged up still not responding the key. so number 2 I took my key to a reprogram a new spare key and my key had said on his lap top my car is not working good enough. he says my car will work all doors will open too. and alarm hard to believe this guy but I will changed all my fuses to be honest to make sure everything going to be going well 100% any advice comments sometimes we cant always believe in machanic or technology people if use all mo what I mean only TH-cam we can always trust sometimes
If you change this fuse or it is ok and you still do not have communication with smart key and will not start. Try putting 12V to that fuse directly. If all works ok after that, you have a shorted wire to that fuse. One common problem connection that goes to the back of the car. It is beneath the carpet on front passenger side where this fuse gets its power. Lift carpet from passenger floor all the way to front of front passenger seat. Its not where all the connections are where module is at fire wall. it is roughly 8" back from there, and to the right center of the seat. About 6 wires connect there. Its a thick gauge red wire connection that powers that fuse. That usually has the problem lays. Good luck Keep in mind, not all W220's have this right side fuse box. I believe, is on 2004 and up.
Thank you for adding this on TH-cam. You are the best. It really worked when I change the blown 7.5Fuse. Tombs up.

My lock and unlock buttons in my car do not work. I have no idea why.
Check the fuse I showed on this video. It's happened to me too. Also, try cleaning out the keyfob. These cars are very sensitive with dirt and stuff. Hope you get it figured out. Cheers
Thank you very much for sharing your experience. My Viano won't unlocked. Car is locked I have a spare keys changed batteries still not communicating. I'll comeback with an update .
Hopefully it works
@@PeterZafra the passenger door has a key slot so manage to open mainland them the key fob works again. Thanks again.
Thanks for your vid. I have a similar problem, but only with one key. The "spare" key works! I took the fob apart, check it visually, cleaned it, change batteries, but still wasn't working! Would you have any idea, what may fix that?
Did you make sure that the fob wasn't being blocked by lint on the sensor part of the key fob? If its clear then there could be a rare case of the fob needing to be re programmed or worse case just need to be changed.
Thank you Peter. I tried everything... new car battery ( needed one), new battery in keys... still nothing. Took out fuse (7.5) and it was bad. I replaced and it blew again. I tried a 10 amp and it blew. I only had a 20 amp, so I tried and it worked. The car sits at a vacation home about three weeks a month. Any suggestions? Thanks Again!
Its weird how these cars work. Mine sits for a long time as well and it blew on its own. I really have no other answer about it other than an older car. If it blows again, don't up the amperage since it might lead to something worse.
The volume buttons on the steering wheel are very sticky. Any suggestions?
Brad, keep those larger fuses out of the slot. Use ONLY a 7.5, if you use a 10 it could cause a fire.
This car is sitting too much. Worse thing you can do to a vehicle is NOT drive it.

hello my friend ..I have a problem with my Mercedes 2006 S400 car ..
Cheers
I have the same problem. I replaced the fuse but it keeps blowing what's causing this?
There's most likely a "short" in the line somewhere. That could be anywhere. That can be a tough one. Try checking the mercedes forums online. They have a lot of experts in further diagnosis. Hope it helps you.
Replace your alarm siren, internal battery dies and losses communication, sits behind the drivers wheel behind fender cover. Sounds odd but that’s your problem, it’s common on 10 year old MBs.
@@spaceexplorer6636 it worked thanks.
Thank you brother! This mfing thing was driving me CRAZZZZZZYYYYYY
Did it work for you?
@@PeterZafra 100% my friend! That stupid little fuse was blown and I knew about 3 fuse blocks (2 under the hood and 1 under rear seat) but not that one.
Currently having a similar issue with my 04 s430 only problem is I can’t lock or unlock the car only way for me to lock or unlock the car is the key thingy on the key fob
THERE is a rear antenae in the upper rear window deck inside backseat. You would need to buy a new one or clean the connections. You access by partially removing some trim from rear window left and right. This is where the Sclass antenaes is.
Thank you!!
Cheers
Hi dude, where do you get those wheels? I have a s55
It took forever for me to find these. Brabus monoblock 3. Very very rare.
@@PeterZafra yeah we bought a new battery. But we didn't check the Sam unit.ill look and in form you thanks
@@PeterZafra Apparently it's a short circuit. I don't know where it is coming from but that is causing the fuse to keep burning out.
Unplug your alarm siren behind the driver side tire. I had the same problem.
@@MichaelFLLC You are the second person to confirm this. Thanks I'll try that.
Jay 2019 You’re welcome. I hope it solves your problem.
thank you nice one sir.
My brother's model is a 2005. His key fob does not open the doors, BUT is will start the care, lol... Help.
Check fuse. Also make sure that door actuators are working well
Okay will do
I hey Mercedes Key thousand four C240 my Key Fob is not communicating with the car. Also the little part that the fob goes into his offspring that has popped out I change the batteries out of the Key Fob but yeah I’m still down by the popped out part that goes into the key fob goes inside

I have a 2004 Mercedes-Benz C240 and my Key Fob is not communicating with the car. I change the battery in the key fob still not communicating with the car. Also where the Key Fob goes into the ignition it’s about 2 inches long. And it’s on spring that popped out so it’s loose the Key Fob is not communicating with the car. I don’t know what to do. I need help I live in my car and it’s imperative that I have my car mobile.
@michealwoods9765 I'm not sure how that ignition part would go back together but try to clean out the key fob and see if the sensor would reach the ignition to atleast communicate with the module.
Hey bro my 2004 slk have problem i cant close my car ı cant open and ı cant start engine becasue ignition doesnt turn posision 1-2 and 3 can you help me?
Have you checked the battery? The battery might be dead. Or not enough charge to turn engine.
I have a w220 my key is communicating but it does not lock or unlock the car neither the trunk but when i press either the lock or unlock button the lights turn on but its not locking or unlocking the car so its unlocked all the time. What is happen please help me
Hi. Does your lock unlock button work on the doors? If it does then you may need to reprogram the remote. If the door switches don't unlock or lock the doors, then it could be the lock fuse
Peter Zafra my benz is s320 2000 model where is located the fuse box containing the lock fuse because i checked the location you showed and there was no fuse box
Peter Zafra actually i also have a problem with the doors and trunk vaccum the trunk wont close totally so could this be a commun issue. What would you advice me to do?
Check your trunk for a fusbox
Toufic Sakhat central locking vacuum pump needs to be replaced in the trunk driver side
Ty so much!!!!

Hi Peter, my key fob works but my locks don't pop up, my trunk won't open, my inside lights don't turn on, my soft close doors aren't working, my lunbar ain't working, it's crazy. I was vacuuming out the car, and I had the hood up the trunk, and the doors open after about two hours of that I closed everything and nothing was working, I couldn't afford this car, but I figured I could try and do the work myself, but man it's like 20 things in one, plus my AC stop working
After I got home I tried the key fob again to lock the door and unlock it and it worked. I’m afraid that this is going to happen again. I don’t know what the issue is. The car started so I can’t be the fuse. Does anybody have a similar experience and have a solution to share? Would very much appreciate it. I hate car problems!
Have you tried changing the batteries? If not, try that first and then if it still does it, then your key fob might need to be reprogrammed
Yeah eventually I had to get a new key fob and they reprogrammed it. somehow those things wear out over time. cost me $180 4 years ago.
Does it work on Mercedes c240 2005
You tell us Mark. For the price of a fuse, did it work on your C240?
Bent Nickel it didn’t I tried to change the fuse it’s located in different place in the trunk I changed it but still doesn’t work
Guys please help I have a Mercedes Benz c200 w203 2004 the key does not turn in the ignition at all. I can only lock the car use the remote (key) but can't lock it. I don't have the spare key to test. I checked fuses they all are fine. Any advise in the area would help a lot. Thanks
Try cleaning the key fob out. This could help. Sometimes lint could block the infrared sensor and prevent communication with the computer. Cheers.

Hi Peter you seam to know so much about this key so I'm going to ask you , I was actually watching the other video ,but it was blocked . How can I replace my keyfob with keyless go for SL 04 ? I'm told to go to MB and pay $500 , it's so much. I appreciate your help thank you .

Hi, I have a 2003 s500 where the key fob can't unlock the car with the remote or recognize the key in the ignition (at least for the first 10 or so tries), but it only happens in the morning when it's cold out. Any thoughts on what it could be? I've had the key fob battery changed, the car battery charged, and replaced the 78 fuse. Let me know, Thanks!
Wow that's strange. Make sure the fuse is on tight. It maybe having difficulty making contact in the cold
What was the problem?resolved?
Ignition fault, if you keep the key in the igniton 24/7 it Will work but its a temporay solution you have to change the igniton cause its not ”reading” the key, costs about 1000 dollar from Mercedes they have to do it beacuse of programming and stuff
Bad news it's not blown any suggestions?
Try cleaning out the keyfob. The link to my video is on the description of this video. Hope that fixes the issue. Cheers.
Why my trunk wont open?
Not sure about that problem. Maybe the motor is not working on your car. Does it open when you press the button from the trunk?
Thanks a lot bro
Anytime. Cheers
good looks just save my life lol

how did you get into the car? my car is locked and I am looking for the best way to unlock the car so I can change the fuse.
Take the emergency key from your main key, and unlock the driver door.
@@hr.linnas5329 same issue here but the key won’t unlock the drivers door? 🙃
I had same problem, I still can’t fixed, buttery is good and the key also good but car no power at all
Double check fuses. Most of the time it's the problem. Check battery on keyfob and make sure keyfob is clean with no lint inside covering sensor
My panic button no working anymore, can that be a fuse
Perfect thanks

my car is doing the exactly samething doors dont unlock on key I changed the key battery my battery charged up still not responding the key. so number 2 I took my key to a reprogram a new spare key and my key had said on his lap top my car is not working good enough. he says my car will work all doors will open too. and alarm hard to believe this guy but I will changed all my fuses to be honest to make sure everything going to be going well 100% any advice comments sometimes we cant always believe in machanic or technology people if use all mo what I mean only TH-cam we can always trust sometimes

I have a Mercedes Benz c230 2005 it did the same thing
Do u know how could I fix it
I personally haven't worked on a c230 but it definitely won't hurt to try this procedure.
Good luck
Keep in mind, not all W220's have this right side fuse box. I believe, is on 2004 and up.
👍👍👍
passin' joe errrrrrrrrrr lol I saw what you did there.
Everyone video ppl skip over how they opened their car.
Mine didn't have the issue of not being able to open the car. Mine was not starting due to the blockage. Cheers

I have a 2006 s350 the key does not lock or unlock the doors and trunk does not turn the switch, the fuses are fine, what else can I check
Make sure the battery is fresh in the keyfob. If it's good, then your keys might need to get re programmed
My fob was acting up. I changed out the batteries. 2005 S500. Took it to the shop. They had to get new fob and reprogram. $180. 4 years ago.
