That rooster is going to become dinner lol. WAY too enthusiastic about its job. The detail and scenery are beautiful though. Fingers crossed for some weather effects because the uncannily immobile grass with the wind sounds is a bit odd.. The light and shadows and water are gorgeous!

While I do understand what you are trying to say, the point that I was trying to make is that games without graphics exist, and games always start out from gameplay that's why it's a game and not a movie. If it would be all about graphics, you couldn't have blind people play games, yet they do (e.g. The Last of Us Part 2 does this very well).
For me it runs great on rtx 3080 at 1440p on high settings. High looks very similar to ultra and cinematic settings, but runs way batter. I tried it even on medium settings and still looks great and runs above 90fps, which is amazing. With dlss im close to 120fps. So optimization in this demo is very good in my opinion.
Let’s test both versions - with and without DLSS. Both should perform well! 😊 We’re only running graphics and particles - the most GPU-intensive elements in games. The audio system is also included, but this setup should still leave plenty of room for your CPU. 😉 Give it a shot! 😉
@@thecarl1013 this is a demo where nothing happens and the cpu has no work - just run stalker 2 go to 3 characters and fps drops 50% on a cpu other than 9800x3d. this is just a tech demo - no game will ever work like that on ue5 and look like that. you would need at least rtx5090 to run it in 4k 30 fps with such graphics
@@Pilociks I know what do you mean, because im trying to make my own game in ue5, just for fun. I know what things uses more cpu (npc ai for example), and what things affect gpu. Of course final game with bigger map and more tasks in background will run worse. But Stalker 2 isn't good example. Better exaple is Wukong in my opinion. I can run Wukong with reasonable settings (high for example) at decent fps with dlss on rtx 3080. I didnt play wukong without dlss, but according to benchmarks, 3080 ti/3090 can run Wukong at 1440p60 with dlaa. So whats the conclusion? optimization is very important. So games with this graphics on current hardware are possible. But most newests games (especially ue5 games) have very poor optimization.

The sound design is very nice, would love to learn how they use spatialization/occlusion management. Only one thing : footsteps sound is definitely too fast for this kind of slow tranquil visit...

acually run amazing on my 4070TI at 4K high 60ish FPS, its a PC u have a setting to play with in case u dodnt have have 2000$ for GPU. if u try to run at ultra or cinimatic u better spend the big $$$, not even 4090 can really do cinimatic 4K, but the demo looks amazing even at high (~60FPS) and medium (~80FPS), only low is a really bad but i get like 200FPS at 4K...
It's incredible when someone can create something like this with Unreal Engine 5. Just imagine what kind of graphics a large team like cd red project can deliver in the next two years when The Witcher 4 is released. This is mind-blowing!

It looks exceptional! From the visual aspect point of view, the barrier between reality and virtual is almost gone. Let aside the sounds, I understand that they are not the subject of this video. The fire and the water are still a challenge, especially the fire, because of the complexity of it. Water can be done better, but with an enormous surplus of work. The water, just like the fire, is a system by itself that combines very much data of kinetics, physics, chemistry, optical properties etc, requiring a very powerful rendering machine. The fire, ...well, it is almost alien, with it's own behavior, very hard to replicarte in different scenes at different scales. I think, for both will be very useful an AI in the near future. An AI that can simplify and keep only essential data to be applied in any scene, in a way that looks more realistic. Or maybe an AI that analise your scene and emulates a fire or water on it with proper scaling, timing of animation, corrrect physics and all necesarry to look realistic. Maybe Unreal Engine 6 will combine an AI for that, also for some other parts of the natural environment. Photoshop and other apps already do that at smaller scale.

I realised this the most probably in Kingdom Come. This game strives for photorealistic graphics and yes, it looks nice but I will always prefer artstyle graphics over realistic. Like Witcher 3, God of War, or probably the most beautiful game in my eyes, Plague Tale Requiem.

I love medieval settings but I'm kinda annoyed how there aren't any good asset packs with these settings that look like they have been made recently. They always look old and abandoned which is great for a horror game but I'd love some assets made to look like people actually live there and take care of the place and where the houses were built within 10-15 years. Though to get that someone would have to create replicas in some warehouse and do photogrammetry on them there.
The stream at the beginning need work. Looks like it's almost flowing uphill. Regardless, the water shouldn't be that chaotic or full of motion at such a shallow angle, in real life it would look like a puddle with some serface motion.
a lot of these wood planks have sharp edges as if they are brand new. thats the only thing that would give it away other then that it looks super realistic to me. maybe i will sell my house and get the pc to run that game :D

Thats what i always say: Literally everyone with decent background can do this nowadays thanks to Unreal and quixel (and generally modern rendering techniques like realtime GI, raytracing etc). When a new AAA game comes out the "wow" effect is already gone and big companies can only win with great gameplay and stuff, cause graphics is easy to make these days (not so great narrative, characters, smooth and fun gameplay etc.)

Looks grand. Like Indiana Jones @ 4k maxed out minus ray-tracing gives over 120fps with my 4090 @ 3000mhz .. so this looks the same quality. Be nice if you leave foot print marks and other marks on the ground and such. including when a body hits the floor.. bit old goop splash and realistic gore

there is no way all those torches/candles, mud from melted snow, abandoned stuff, and sunflowers exist at same time in same place.

I just played it on GTX 970 and i5 3th gen in medium setting with 40 fps in 1080p. Unreal engine 5.5 is amazing

I can't figure out what the Witcher 4 has to do with this? These are just Medieval Village assets for UE, and quite old ones, even before the news about the development of W4 appeared.

Exactly! Most people had wooden shutters until the 20th Century. Glass windows were only ever common in towns and rich homes

Looks grand. Like Indiana Jones @ 4k maxed out minus ray-tracing gives over 120fps with my 4090 @ 3000mhz .. so this looks the same quality.
Be nice if you leave foot print marks and other marks on the ground and such. including when a body hits the floor.. bit old goop splash and realistic gore
