Quick note: From what I can read on Reddit, aside from the promise to supposedly open up the OS soon, this device is currently a bit under-clocked relative to the known benchmarks for the chip. A potential future update should be able to fix this.
It's underclocked BC of runtime and heat. If we crank it up to 1,8 or 2ghz that device will probably get too hot also shorter runtimes especially if you're playing 3d or portmaster games
@@mettscientist that's an unfortunate disappointment... We are looking at being stuck with performance closer to the 3326, in that case... Was really hoping to unlock a bit better Dreamcast emulation.
The problem with these cheap consoles is the display. In low light, they have really bad light bleeding, and even in bright white areas, there are dark areas in lcd.
No, they don’t have Bluetooth/WiFi hardware. But the developer said he was planning to release the software as open source, and there is already cfw released as of this morning, plumos.
I dont like the locked OS and the tiny screen. I have a R36s and want to buy the o30S for the horizontal form factor. Hope they release a one with bigger screen
They are planning a few more devices over the next months. Some will be bigger screens. This was originally supposed to release in May, to compete with the a30 and the rg28xx, and I think it seems to do a pretty good job at that. Still a very pocketable mini, with good sticks so it can play games that the rg28xx can’t, (psp and n64, for eg) and good chip so it can play games the a30 can’t. The developer said they would be releasing an open source version of the OS for people to mess with, and there is already cfw, PlumOS is a JELOS fork.
La última versión de ROCKNIX ya es compatible con esta máquina. Veremos si mejora a PlumOS, que a mi juicio rinde muy bien hasta con PSP. Sin actualizaciones ni scrapeo, eso sí.
Constructive criticism: It's harder to understand you, I have to pay more attention to parse what you say. I'm from California too, and we speak fast here, for some context.
Thanks for the input! I'm not from California, but I agree I'm often not the best speaker haha Is it just speaking too fast, or not enunciating words clear enough? Thanks, I'm definitely always looking to improve!
I thought your speaking pattern is pretty good and I often get bothered by that kind of thing. You don't say like or um as a filler at all, which most people do these days. Nice review
We do know that this chipset is actually the RK3326. There was an error from the chip supplier, apparently.

Hall sticks in a $50 device, wow.
Got mines today and would say that the build quality is B/ B- and software is a C-/ D. Definitely feels a lot better in the hand than the Miyoo A30.
I agree! The Miyoo A30 does smell a bit better than the Mini M though 😅

Plum os unlocks a lot of the settings.
On a side note i like it how it is for giving to kids so they cant really mess anything up.
That D-pad is great for Tetris!
Does the console not have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi? Are they software locked and can be added with custom firmware?
No, they don’t have Bluetooth/WiFi hardware.

PlumOS also has portmaster support

Cfws sure will come

Use a branded SD card, download and flash the firmware.

Floridian here. I didn't have any trouble following along, surprised to see this criticism

I didn’t have any issues with understanding. You do talk quickly but I didn’t think it was hard to understand
I'm a native Spanish speaker and watched the video at 1.25x and had no problems understanding you.
