Turbo Longtail Boat Racing In Thailand Is Amazing And Terrifying

- I finally got to do this, and it was just amazing. I can finally confirm that this wild turbo longtail boat racing in Thailand is amazing and terrifying. Today I take you to Samut Sakhon to Chang Bird garage where they build these crazy turbo longrail riverboat racing engines. Join me as I go on three different boats, varying from 150hp all the way up to 700hp. We reached speeds of over 130 kph on water (80 mph). These boats don't weigh much so this was an exhilarating and amazing experience. Definitely a bucket list item for me. Watch me scream as we hurl down a canal at mind bending speeds of over 80 mph! These guys definitely showed me what turbo longtail river boat racing is all about, and scared me senseless. My big thanks to my friend Golf for setting this up, and of course to Chang Bird for hosting me on this epic Thai riverboat experience.

This was an intense experience. I’ve personally don’t double the speed in my own cars, and motorcycles, while I lived in the US. However, even adjust 80 mph on this little toothpick on water, it was just frightening.

Yeah, this was such a hard pounding experience. And I’m no Stranger, to speed, as I’ve driven cars and motorcycles at well over 200 km an hour before. However, this is a whole different feeling.

Aw man, so happy to know you enjoyed this. It was one of the most frightening things I’ve ever experienced. Even though I’ve gone twice as fast on land, driving cars, or riding motorcycles, this takes the cake for pucker factor.

It never seems that quick on water vs land stuff, but as a licensed boat operator and having a few quick boats myself it is pretty intense on water at those speeds.... LOL

Yeah, that was close! It’s hard to explain the sheer speed and feeling of doing this on water. I’ve driven cars, and ridden motorcycles at twice the speed, but this takes the cake for adrenaline.

It’s a very straightforward set up. Just a throttle and the long tail with the propeller. Definitely takes quite a bit of skill to control this thing. The video does not do the speed, and Tara, of this experience justice. Lol.

Your microphone picks up sound incredibly well with not much wind noise..
Thanks that DJI wireless microphone system works really well. At the time of editing this, I didn’t have the right software to be able to reduce the noise. If I was editing the video right now, I could completely isolate my voice and remove all the noise. At the same time, some of that noise gives the video its appeal.

Trust me, it was a lot faster and scarier than it looks. Although I’ve ridden motorcycles, and driven cars, a double the speed, this was probably the most terrifying motorized experience I’ve ever had. Lol.
That is a crazy experience, I would say it is not a great thing for the environment, but most things are not great for the environment in Thailand. Still want to do it!!!!

That’s way too fast for no safety gear for me a chicken. I’d be content in a kayak going down that waterway with no motor just a paddle. you’re a madman!
This was so exciting, but I will never do it again. It is extremely dangerous. Safety gear won’t help you much when you’re thrown from a boat like this at 150 km an hour.

The drone has a top speed of 71 km/h, so there was no way I was gonna be able to keep up as we were doing about 130. Lol. Glad you enjoyed it!

It was absolutely crazy! I don’t know how I didn’t lose my phone. I had it on a mini tripod, which is what I use for all my videos. I’ve driven cars, and ridden motorcycles at 250 KPH, but this was much more exhilarating.

The last boat was INSANE but man, your hair was so styled at the end. It's a good look. Screw the blow dryer, just hitch a ride with these guys.
I was legitimately scared of that last boat. It doesn’t really show in the video, but we started drifting sideways and basically hydroplaning a little bit.
