Here is a collaboration video posted to the HVAC School youtube channel- th-cam.com/video/H7144pxGh7M/w-d-xo.html
I really enjoyed hanging out with Bryan and getting to teach with him. He's actually a real funny guy!

On a hot pull down it is easy for two thirds of the cooling capacity to go towards latent removal. I had a customer complain that she didn't WANT it this way. I told her thank God it does, getting the humidity level down first makes you comfortable faster!

I had no idea you guys were friends. You guys are my go to for HVAC clips to learn and re-relearn anything in the trade. I love watching both of you guys and always seem to learn at least one thing new in any given clip. I would highly recommend sticking with these two guys in your HVAC journey and pray that I would gain at least half the knowledge and understanding that these two men have. Thanks for another informative clip as I continue to learn more and more.

One way to visualize latent heat absorption in the evaporator: every gallon of condensate that flows out the drain represents a little over 8000 btu of heat that flowed from the air into the evaporator, through the compressor, and out the condenser. The refrigeration power / capacity devoted to that activity is unable to be used to change the air temp. Therefore, higher humidity loads produce lower delta T with all else being equal.

@@eclipse369. Whether or not you like it, it's part of the trade. Less qualified techs equals more hours needed to work. Appliance techs go through the same thing. Isn't like it's something that no one knows about if they did the research before getting into the trades. There's good and bad to everything but nothing feels better than saving someone from a 100 degree house or -20 wind chills because their equipment is broken. Most techs do the research and know what they're getting into.

It is hard work, and it can be rewarding. Especially if you're doing it right the first time. The satisfaction I had in doing this trade for over 30 years was seeing the smile on a customer's face when their unit was working when I was done. I used to work 16 hours a day in the summer. Big deal, for I had plenty of time off between the seasons. 🤗

Is a delta t measurement only for cooling, or can we do the same process for heating? If so will the range for the differential be the same as cooling?

I was reading a book “refrigeration for ac techs” and I learned delta t is great but something more reliable is evap split meaning with a return of 75 your evap sat temp should be 40 degrees 35*f of evaporator split.
So at a 85 degree return you should have 50 sat temp. It’s a moving number that better helps you understand loads the bigger the evap split the higher the latent heat removal

I have a 3 ton HP with TXV, when humidity high 65% my delta T is down to 15-16, but is 18 when humidity is 40% and I also have very low SP. 35 on medium tap, so moving a lot of air say 1350 cfm, with low tap detla T goes up 2F overall.

My question is a little off subject, the sub cooling where is the correct place to take the reading ?
I was taught you should take it within 12inches of the TXV ?
And this is from the puron people ?
I've started watching these videos after I retired (still working tho) who knew ,and I see most taking the readings at the outdoor unit ?
Man I like these vids compared to my wife's choice's,😜😂😂🤣🥃🍺
