Sorry to that guy but, it's all's well, that ends well. It's from somefucker named Shake's pears or something dunno only googled the first bit. Good day to you.
Ben wondering why the case isn't resolved, forgetting that they've left one student alive, and 10 years from now that student's gonna grow up and take down the entirety of X-Com by himself to avenge his fallen master.
And an apprentice of the apprentice. And a bodyguard who is the secret apprentice of the apprentice's apprentice. And the brother of the secret apprentice bodyguard who also used to be an apprentice himself.
I had forgotten I was the Flamer in this mission. I thought I died, but instead I was just abandoned. What a way to go! I like to imagine I became a ninja after this.
I still love that, that mission is effectively supposed to be one of the most powerful of the Assassin's and they bring half a squad of chumps and 2.5 good dudes. That was never going to end well.
You need dogs for this mission due to their inherent anticamo btw. Use them as frontliners and take out ninjas with whatever you want preferably incendiary so them being on fire eliminates their camo value
Rats are the best at spotting hidden units, for whatever reason. I think that doing this as a night mission might actually be easier. You have the same distance to see them, but at least their vision is reduced. In the latest versions, deploying a bunch of position markers might also be a good strategy.
This would probably take a while, but maybe you can do a montage of "perfect record" Commander Ben and the trials and tribulations of noodlebrain Chump Lewis in TFTD, it reflected their real namesakes so well
I've played other mods that used those mechanics so I know what's going on. They either have a thing that reduces how far they can be seen from, or a thing that makes them only visible from a limited distance. The second is more powerful so it's probably that. In which case you need probably a specific armor to counteract it. Is there one of those in that mod pack? I don't know, but I don't remember it ever coming up during the whole playthrough so I'm guessing not.
@@orangesilver8 IIRC, "camo" was a value that units had which subtracted from the distance at which they could be seen. In other words, your first hypothesis. Ninjas in X-Com Files had a high camo value, and the lads had a lot of trouble seeing them, though sometimes they did spot them before they struck. Since they rally didn't like using "bibbers" (re: motion detectors) much, ninjas were a recurring problem for them.
@@Yeèeeeeeeeeyeeeee Yup! Basically you need motion trackers to be able to locate them from further away... And dogs have that built in with their sniffers. Alternatively, you can just go Predator on their ass and hose the entire area down with minigun fire, but that's not great if you want them alive. ^^
The worst thing about this series is that Lewis just got bored of it about half way through and would just grumpily be wrong, refuse to read, and sabotage Ben at like every opportunity. Idk why he kept doing it honestly he really seemed to hate it
Ben blaming everyone but himself really shows off the terrible moral character he possesses. It is never my fault, everything is unfair unless it is going my way. Horrible personality.

All is well that ends well
Spiffing Brit lets everyone else die and escapes alone... I feel like I've heard that before recently... :)
Secretly Spiff exploited the mission as one of his first success stories

You and the other ninja left have a lot in common.
Adding the "Dagon Temple" team card with a crossed-out Legionnaire Chinhuahua was an inspired edit. Thank you.
Fuck dude the squad cut in from the dagon mission to show legionnaire chinhuahua finally kicking the bucket, so good but also so sad lol
I feel Ben’s little “that’s not where squad 2 lives” as Lewis clicks in the wrong base sums up this play through very well

Even the A-team under their control would have failed. No motion detection, no proximity grenades, no nothing anti-stealth
You’ve single-handedly gotten me interested in the Lewis and Ben XCOM playthroughs. Channels like yours are rare these days. Keep up the great work.
I vaguely remembered this mission, but forgot all about the sword. Until the picture with the shark. Then it all came flooding back.
*game preps you for a boss fight*
"We can send a pretty scrubby squad here.."
What was Lewis thinking.....
It’s because Chinuhaha didn’t have his Lucky Billhook o7
Lol I love the ending
Surprise Spiffing Brit cameo

interesting, wonder if proximity mines might work too

ending edit made me giggle. Keep up the great content
After action report of the only survivor: "This mission was perfectly balanced with no exploits."
> the xcom streams continue to this day
about that
Lewis now says "bam!" and "shit the bed" a lot, but the streams continue...
No can't you see the picture? It clearly shows Lewis(with a beard) and Tom playing (XCOM)
Just according to keikakku.
Thank you these edits are awesome!
Nice
Great editing! xD
there were so many side missions on that pack that made absolutely no sense, like why were they fighting ninjas?! no clue
was there any way they could've stopped those guys from being invisible?

IIRC dogs and/or scoutbots can counter camo and also motion detector could be useful but you'd have to get close to use them.
