I never even thought about attempting this due to how hard it looked and then I started going through Halo 2 Laso after beating CE and this video made me feel like I had a chance. Been practicing for a few hours and I get the flood on my head and start flying just about every time. My only issue now is incorporating all the other little tricks to save and turning. I do prison skip this weekend.
LMAO The sheer difficulty to be able to do this first try after 6 hours with the HUD invisible you invisible and the enemies invisible can barely be expressed in words.
Brilliant tutorial for helping out us average butterfly'rs. I've always had trouble with the start (other stuff too), as a consequence I have to bring a CP with me when tricking. Thanks for making this vid, mate.
Thanks for the tutorial! When I saw the language in Japanese, I thought it was my Xbox because that's what I have it to for language learning purposes and to keep it intact, but I realized it was your video lol. I'm able to understand anything it says or what I hear because I learned new words and kanji through gameplay walkthroughs in Japanese on TH-cam, but experiencing it first hand is sooooo helpful. Again, this trick will be hard, but I'm up for it!
@@bobmarley4781 Your on MCC. Press crouch to detach the flood from your head, and re-centre him. If the flood is too far off centre, crouch won't work anymore, and you'll fall to your death. That's why you HAVE to keep it centred.
This trick is extremely hard for me because a lot of the times I kill the flood even though I hit cancel. Also my hand positioning or something it’s really hard for me to hit the buttons properly on mouse and keyboard
I can't seem to turn. Any advice? It's as if when I stop y-b, i don't fall away from the flood. It's as if I'm stuck to him. Then I fall and die, unless I jump.
Is there a way to turn on MCC? Or, can you make a tutorial for the MCC version? All other tutorials I've seen suck and don't explain things well enough.
My wrist is so worn out from this haha I’ve almost gotten there so many times but I accidentally kill the flood with the melees and I fall to my death 😂😂😂😂
Is there a kill barrier of some sort, after a certain distance, no matter what, the flood flys off my head as if I run into an invisible wall which makes no sense because it's on the path you go... is this patched?
I came to be able to ride on Flood. And,I came to be able to go to the corner of the tower. However, even if I hit the BY button repeatedly, my Flood will not jump. Why! If I can understand your language, I will solve it ...
Thanks for replying to TH-cam! As you taught me to crouch, I was able to leave Flood. However, I can not catch Flood this time. I tried it hundreds of times. Sad but I do not seem to be able…
It is but B-Y-A is easier. B-X can be risky because unlike that, B-Y buttons are right next to each other, and you only need your thumb to perform the button combo. I'm not saying that it's not possible, but not recommended, because if you press the wrong button even once, its likely all over. Especially if your descending, and you don't catch the flood when you fall below him. The melee boost which makes this trick possible has a relatively short range. You don't get a second chance to catch the flood, if he already dropped the distance Cryphon is demonstrating, before he re-catches it.
How does moving your player turn the camera when turning? That's confusing me cause it's not supposed to do that it's supposed to strafe. Is the meelee lunge automatically turning you around to face them somehow?
Yes, the melee makes you face the enemy. If you try turning with your right stick at all, you will be automatically reoriented to whatever direction the enemy is facing. That's why you have to use the left stick to make the enemy look at your position if you want to change angles.
@@Cryphon cool, the amazing mechanics of games at work! thanks, also another question is it easier or harder on a keyboard and mouse, since you don't have the buttons close together to roll. And same with sword lunge/flying

YOOO I literally looked this up while watching a GDQ thing YOU were on the couch for, heck yeah!
Such a soothing voice that sounds like waterfalls
The ambiental were created for his voice!
Great tutorial for console, I might make one for vista/new mcc today, to cover every nuance between the 2 versions

Amazing tutorial 👍🏻
Thanks for the great tutorial, it may have been answered before but out of curiosity why do you play on another language?
Honestly, how do people even come up with these strats?
Did you figure out how to turn? My player just gets stuck to the flood.

I wonder why some people say bxa instead of bxy doesn’t make sense.. and I’m using default settings on MCC

You're on MCC and this tutorial doesn't really apply to that. You can crouch to disconnect him from your head though on that version.

Crouch
@@Cryphon Your reply is sincerely pleased!
When catching Flood, is that the chief crouch?
Or is it time to let him jump?

Is it possible to do it with bxb instead of byb?
I believe it is. Either way works because both cancel the melee animation that happens, which allows this trick to exist in the first place.

could i add you and do co op and you do this for me? ill venmo you
Who the hell even first discovers this shit in the first place?
This trick seems to be impossible on MCC LASO since the enemies are cloaked. Rip.
They're till somewhat visible.
@@bobmarley4781 Being visible isn't the issue I assume; it'd be the whether or not the melee lunges on camoed enemies which IIRC it does not
