Can't understand why his solo career didn't gel..He has a beautiful voice!!!! I've always been a great fan of the Everlys but you have to give credit where it is due..Phil rules.
I could listen to Phil anytime, such a great voice & so diverse too..he's th elove of my life, alwaya been a fan of the Everlys but was alway my favourite. Thanks Phil for the beautiful songs.
Mir geht's genauso wie dir! Mein Bruder hat mich in die Welt der Everlys gebracht,da war ich 10 Jahre alt.War damals schon ganz verzaubert von dem wunderschönen Einklang ihrer Stimmen!❤❤
Phil and Don were great apart,,,but together they are unforgettable,,, besides that they got over their problem and I am sure the are glad they did... RWB
Your so lucky.. The greatest disappointment in my life...I never had that pleasure to meet them, or even see them in concert...I want to see every video, read any books, watch any biographies about them, learned a lot from utube and I am thankful for that...
All of the comments go to prove that it is not what you own,,but rather the memories you leave behind, and the people who love you for what you have done and the memories they have for you. God rest his soul.
Never again should we expect to hear such a mesmerizing blending of voices such as the Everly sound. As I heard Phil say once during a TV interview, "It's in the genes"; and I believe that. God gave the Everly Brothers a uniquely beautiful sound that they graciously shared with the world. They gave us an unforgettable gift and we owe them so much. May dear, precious Phil be in God's loving Kingdom for all eternity and may I, through God's mercy, join him there when my time comes. Sincere condolences to Mr.Don Everly and his wife Adela, Phil's beautiful family, and all the relatives and loved ones left behind. Phil, we love you forever.
I agree Phil could have had a great solo career but that’s not who he was. He was a loving brother and son first. I’ve really just realized how very talented he was in the past few weeks. I am very happy to see that he has so much of his work on TH-cam for us fans and late bloomers to enjoy. It’s kind of eery to have such a crush on a dead man but here I am. It’s truly never too late. 🥰🥰
Love this! I cried all weekend after learning of Phil's passing. They were my first "favorite artist" and always my favorite duo. As many have said, they taught a generation how to sing harmony. It took me 55 years to notice that Phil always stayed a little farther from the mike than Don, so his higher harmony part wouldn't overpower Don's melody. Glad that Phil lived to see the unique tribute of an entire album of theirs (1958 folk collection "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us") being covered, cleverly named "Foreverly" by Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones. Phil was pleased with it. Now Phil is harmonizing in heaven with Jim Reeves, Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison, Jackie Wilson, Elvis, Sam Cook, Otis Redding and so many others we've lost. Prayers to the family.
My heart is broken. How happy though, I am to find these beautiful videos left behind as memories to see and to listen to. Thanks to Phil and also to Don who with his brother gave us a special gift in the form of the Everly Brothers.
Just beautiful. I have added Phil's songs to my Everly must haves. As to his solo career not taking off -- Don had a great sense of humor and was very witty at times. He quioped re the lack of a solo career for either -- no one wanted to _he said either hear or see, I don't remember which) an Everly by themselves. And I think he nailed it. But Phil's voice is beautiful. He has a Roy Orbison style cadence and rhythm to his sound.
Very nice that you share this. Phil has made some very nice albums in the seventies and early eighties. I liked the "Living alone" album. It was on my recordplayer for months, i remember.
Man what a class act. I would love to hear the both of them again I dont care how old they look or if they are bald or in wheel chairs thanks for posting
I think you said it perfectly. The more I read from friends & family of Phil's, the more I see how my instincts were 100% correct at the tender age of 10... He really was a beautiful person. Heartbroken that he is gone, and so sad for his family. R I P, dear Phil, you will be sorely missed.
Thanks Phil for teaching me to harmonize--back in the early 60'sMy mother Peggy, started me with the harmony to "You are my sunshine! Then you and your brother came along and I was Hooked!
The everly bros was the music I grew up on and have not heard anyone to this day with the harmony they sang with, they were then and they are still the greatest duet I,ve ever heard and probably the closest to heaven I,d get
Feels weird watching one of the brothers doing solo songs used to Phil and Don singing angelic harmony's. Am not saying anything bad about him singing solo his own choice and he sounds awesome
I dare you not to feel a tug of emotion at hearing this rendition of " Kentucky" by the Everly Brothers... Don & Phil. th-cam.com/video/tKUIlVsMM-o/w-d-xo.html. ("Kentucky") Above - is a very beautiful rendition, and the defining one, of a 1941 country song: "Kentucky". The Everly's birth home. It plays ok on my computer, it may be just that your broadband is running a bit slow at the moment, sometimes just the amount of users localy can slow it down enough to cause that problem.
Both Everlys are great alone. They are beyond fabulous together.
Absolutely beautiful song!!! They were the best and will never be forgotten...God rest them both!!!!
You know the are good singers out there, but none could ever sound as sweet or good as Phil Everly. He is the best
Phil Everly is truly amazing, my favorite Everly through and through!
Can't understand why his solo career didn't gel..He has a beautiful voice!!!! I've always been a great fan of the Everlys but you have to give credit where it is due..Phil rules.
Sweet song by a sweet man. I miss him so much already. Rest in peace now sweet man, always in our hearts.
Every song he sings is wonderful, I just don't get how anyone could give his song a thumbs down.
Kathy Vandewal WHAT A FABULOUS TALENT HE WAS. THE SOLO LP ALLOWED PHIL TO FINALLY SHOW OFF HIS BEAUTIFUL VOICE.
some people in this world we live in you just cant please they have a big problem as long as we like him
I was wondering the same. All those thumbs down shocks me. I could watch this all day. Love the song and enjoy watching Phil singing it.
Thé thumbs down are millenials with crappy taste in music. They wouldn't know good music even if it punched them on the face.
I could listen to Phil anytime, such a great voice & so diverse too..he's th elove of my life, alwaya been a fan of the Everlys but was alway my favourite. Thanks Phil for the beautiful songs.
@ Lorraine Hand Phil is my favorite, too :)

Excellent. Phil could have easily had a great solo career! What a voice.
@ Chiselnyc I agree.

What makes you think it is weak?
By 99% of accounts, both of the Everly boys have fantastic voices.
Love this man and his music!! 2:25
I'm stuck for words that could possibly praise Phil enough for this - fabulous and fantastic are totally inadequate - how about fabulantasticulous!
Not a day goes by without me thinking of this wonderful man
Phil is Brilliant! Just bought the solo album with this song on! Every song is 10 out of 10! :-)

Any Everly Brother makes me have goosebumps!!!
I still shed a tear or two whenever I think about him. Especially playing his CD's & watching these videos! xoxoxoxoRIP Sweet Phil!
Talented and gorgeous man.
If I recorded 10 songs and phil sang with me every one would be a hit that guy was the music
Nothing compares to the incredible voices and songs of the Everly's - together or individually, I've yet to find a song I didn't enjoy by them.
Same here, Rosann.
His voice was a gift to us all. RIP in Phil. Thank you for your music.
Your words are so true
Some people deserves to live forever.

I agree with you.
I read a lot about Phil (my source was the internet) and I realized that he was a man of a great character.
Love Phil's song but I am glad Phil and Don got back together before Phil died,,I think they would feel the same way.
They did. I spoke to Don shortly after Phil passed and he dearly loved his brother.
Now he's gone as well.
Awesome! Phil Everly and that unmistakeable 'Everly' drumbeat.
Fantastic song
If Carlsberg did music videos.... Thanks megasuggs
Thse characteristic drum rolls sound like Jerry Allison (of the Crickets) … ?
@@profdaveb6384 you are probably on the money! Just checked, Jerry Allison did drum on studio sessions for Everlys👍

Hello how are you doing
Phil is absolutely precious. He sings so soft & sweet❤
A reflection of the man. Phil was the kindest, gentlest man I've ever met.
And having been around those two boys for ten years, I met a lot of people.

I would love to find a backing track for this song with or without Backing Vocals...
Anyone out there got this one?
🥰
Lástima que sea un play back, y no podamos ver a Mark Knopfler a la guitarra.
anyone know the guitar chords for this song?
Aber einstimmig geht es auch allein nicht.
Don sang lead mostly, but Phil was actually a better singer (imho). He did add the dynamics to their harmonies. Love their music immensely
Phil wasn‘t a pretender but he was sweet 😉
Taskig ljudvolym, men identisk med skivan som min favvo Mark Knopfler är med och lirar i bakgrunden!!
