It puzzles me why the Isle of Man, like Jersey and Guernsey, do not apply for FIFA and UEFA membership. Yes, they can have a team playing in the English leagues - after all, FC Andorra play in the Spanish leagues, San Marino Calcio in the Italian and teams from Liechtenstein play in the Swiss leagues - but surely it would help the island's development as a football nation to be involved playing the likes of Germany, England, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain etc. Further, if Gibraltar and the Faroes are both members of FIFA and UEFA despite not being independent states then why not the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey?
Having lived on the island about twenty years ago, I can vouch that the standard of football is quite high for an amateur league and they would easily hold their own against teams from Malta, Cyprus and Andorra, as well as potentially beating San Marino and Liechtenstein.
Decent film but seems to have filmed a while ago, and doesn't mention promotion or a cup final plus a big increase in crowds to 3000 plus?

Good luck to them!! I don't know if the island or travel industry could cope with away crowds - especially if you get to hosting a Premier League top 6 club in a Cup Competition - the security, travel and infrastructure needs to be there but by playing in a league, you'll get the trade every other week to invest in that infrastructure to build it up

The island could definitely cope with away fans but not sure about the club though. The TT is currently on with up to 40.000 visitors expected. However the ground only holds a little over 3.000

My comment was more about if the island could cope or not with away fans. Premier League is a very distant dream but a nice one to have all the same 👌
@@IWC5LFC You're right. The Bowl only holds a little over 3,000. But the infrastructure is definitely there to cope with away fans.
