- This BMW f10 520d 2010 had a short circuit on the gearbox wiring because it fell on the particulate filter and due to high temperatures it melted and made a beautiful short circuit, the wiring was repaired by other shop and after the repair the car no longer enters sleep mode , and discharges the battery overnight, after an investigation I have found line15 wake-up from CAS had permanent voltage (terminal 15 wake-up have voltage only with ignition on ) , after a check I found the transistor from CAS module that deals with powering the terminal 15 wake-up line is shorted and sends permanently voltage in line 15Wup, after replacing the transistor everything returned to normal. the transistor has shorted due to that short circuit on the gearbox harness. Officially for this malfunction / problem the CAS module is replaced with a new one because is not repairable , But unofficially I fixed it!

I've watched thousands upon thousands of tutorials and D.I.Y videos on all kinds of different subjects from other people ,and not only about BMW. I have a 15WUP fault to ground on a F30 320D which is very intermittent. I'm new to ISTA, and seeing you fault find, and use the functions of ISTA is really helpful.
Any pointers in isolating an intermittent fault like this?

Following your video I measured ~ 4.5V with ignition OFF and ~12V with ignition ON. This means that the CAS is faulty, right ? Car is F07, 530d, pre lci. Salut.Doamneeee daca ai sti cata nevoie am de tine!!!!!! Cred ca am gasit in sfarsit necazul care al am la masina.Tot BMW 520D F10 2010,Si cred ca mai are multe necazuri masina,e plina de erori:abs,frana,senzori etc etc,nimeni nu stie ce are masina si am fost in 10 service in 2 zile.Toata masina e rosie de sus pana jos,am un singur Verde:))) Unde te pot gasi,eu sunt in Anglia Leicester.

I have an f11 and is yelling abou kafas kamera heater that is shortcircuited and also the additional pump of the webasto same and therefore i think my car does not go fully in sleep mode, can you advice i i need to fit this two first, and what kind if software should i use to diagnose 8t properly?

I know you are in Romania but is it possible to say us how many hours took you this repair and how many you charge the customer? And the cost for a new ECU
I think it would have taken me about 2-3 hours. but due to the fact that I also filmed, the time increased considerably. a new CAS is around $ 400 or it can be even more expensive but will have to be ordered after the VIN number because it will come with the security codes already written in it

Hello . Probably even your old pump was good and the problem is in Webasto , reading errors from Ista is half of the job/diagnostic

Hey, I'm glad for your enthusiasm, but I don't do much mechanics at all , and unfortunately I'm not passionate about modifications / improvisations like mounting something that wasn't fitted by the factory on that body! I am passionate and I like to work as much as OEM possible . Tuning improvisations don't appeal to me at all, on the contrary a modified / tuned car in my eyes has no value anymore. Hey but that's my opinion, it's not a rule !! :D
